A little fact: The blades of Chaos was bounded with Kratos by a pact made with Ares Since Ares was defeated he can't undo this, even when he became the new God of war Blades of Athenas behaves the same way but this time the pact is with Athena (that's why is shiny but get's red after the killing spree) the blades of exile was destroyed after Zeus atacked Kratos from behind, which now left open the space for the blades of chaos
some say that the blade of exile is just another form of blade of chaos, upgraded one. and when kratos sail away, the blade still coming back to kratos, as I recall in god of war comic, kratos sail far away and found himself in a land of egyptian mythology. in that comic, kratos keep trying to rid the blade, he even throw the blade into the ocean but the blade keep coming back to him. theres a panel where he throw the blade away, and he sleep, but when we wake up, the blade is in front of him.
Watch GOW 1 ending again. Ares actually strips Kratos off the blades of chaos and after defeating him Athena grants him her blades which become the blades of exile upon falling into the river styx and losing their power. Kratos breaks and loses all his weapons at the end of GOW3 but the ones that always return to him are the blades of chaos which he eventually buried before leaving for the Norse world.
Based on context clues and what’s confirmed, the blades of exile were just left on what’s left of mt Olympus. The blades of chaos were cursed to just follow him (most likely Athena trolling him) and he went to Midgard after failing to kill himself multiple times and stopped by egypt on the way
I thinking that In the Atreus spin off He’s gonna find the blades of exile and start using them Find out one of the “Spartan soul” inside of the blades is his sister calliope Then he’s gonna do soul magic and get her a new body
I would like to know what happened to Kratos’s other blades the ones Athena made for him and what happened to the first set he got from Aries once he was no longer his servant in Greece
Yeah, i don't understand how the blades of exile didn't follow him to Norse mythology after his attempt at killing himself. I think that Santa Monica studio just glossed over this fact and went with his iconic blades of chaos due to how popular they are to the fan base. How he got them back we will never know🤷. All i know is, that their decision was absolutely amazing and the players reaction to the blades of chaos reveal during gameplay has out weighed the need to know.
No he threw them away before beating up Zeus but my theory is that Athena took the blades of chaos after kratos killed ares and then she transformed them into the blades of athena and in gow 3 she turned them in the blades of exile. And after kratos killed zeus all the magic faded from the greek world and that's why they turned into the blades of chaos and athena probably cursed kratos so that the blades follow him around
@@d1m155 the blades of chaos are different blades. He gained ares weapons after becoming god of war which includes the blades of chaos. He didn’t want to use them again so Athena made him new blades.
@@d1m155that's incorrect, in the ending of GOW 1, ares actually took the blades of chaos, so then athena gave kratos her blades then, transformed it into blades of exile Their three different blades
