Fascinating seeing these three together so many years after the release of the film, such an iconic trio in film history and after seeing them unravel more and more and eventually completely break down in the horrific woods at the hands of the Blair Witch, it's great seeing them safe and okay :) The Blair Witch Project will always be one of my favourite horror films!
Great Q&A session. Thanks for uploading it. That crowd though. They could´ve shown more enthusiasm, considering the circumstances. I mean, come on! The cast is reunited under the same roof after who knows how long, answering your questions! If you took the time to go there, you could´ve show them a little more love. I would´ve.
So much respect for these 3 and the legacy they have willingly kept coming back to, even years later. They really got a shitty end of the stick from the studio once the movie blew up and started making a lot of money (money which they saw *none* of). If anyone has ever been taught a lesson in overnight success by Hollywood, it's these guys.
In a interview around the time this was done Mike did say they did receive some money, but not life changing money. The only life changing thing was they were recognized everywhere after the film came out.
Jared Wignall They received money from the reshoot of the ending (more than they ever received for the rest of the movie), but they didn't receive money directly from the film's box office.
@@ashscott6068 They we’re unknowns and obviously had no leverage. When the film earned over $100 million, however, they should have been better compensated.
Been waiting for content like this for years! Thanks for uploading. Just re-watched BW again for I think the 10-12th time or so and found myself here. I'm a huge fan and cannot stop re-watching the film. For me, it's a near perfect film. Has always been in my top 10 list of films.
The first time i saw this movie (actually the half of this movie) by accident was when i woke up in the middle of the night to drink water and i couldnt sleep so i switched on the TV and come across this movie. After that night i was looking for this movie but also similar type of horror movies. For me this was another level.
Love this film, even though it scares me shirtless. More than any other horror movie. Why, because it's so well improvised which makes it so real. Thank you, two the guy sitting next to me on this film and Book of Shadows for letting me hide behind them
Thankyou for this!! :D Love Blair Witch Project. The cast are amazing :3 LOL I loved Mike's "I stand in corners for at least once a day" ... well I suspect it's fun for Mike to be in the gents toilets standing having a piss in front of the wall, and a man comes in, spots him with his back to him and goes "Oh my good god.. is that.. is that.. wait this reminds me of a horror film I've seen before.." and then stands next to him to have a piss himself and then he's like "MY GOD it IS! IT'S MIKE FROM BLAIR WITCH PROJECT!" and Mike's standing there like ">: ) Hehehehehehe..did I creep you out there?" xD It must be so fun for him. 😂😂
Thanks for uploading this interview. I was searching for something on Blair Witch because Netflix has it on their site and I'm watching it now as I am searching. It's still one of my favorite movies because it's just about the way it would be if three teenagers got lost in the woods, which is what made it seem so real.
@@darkangelw8472wow, that comment I made has a few years on it. :) I'm still liking Blair Witch even now, just watched it again a few months ago. The sound track is awesome. Tom-WV
Such a groundbreaking movie and extremely original/creative way of filmmaking!! They don't make art like this anymore :/ just cheap stupid scares/remakes where nothing is left to the imagination....
I do wish that we couldve seen a little bit more of the group in the town. Not at home packing, but in the town talking with people or going to other areas to talk about the “history”of the town. Idk that’s just how I felt, that I wanted just a little bit more of the town & history while seeing Heather, Mike & Josh’s human characteristics before they go into insanity.
I agree. I love the movie, but absolutely would love if that section of the film was longer. It was cool to hear the interviewees talk about the Witch in different ways, and I know they definitely shot more that wasn't used. So I do hope some day an extended cut is released
My brother saw the movie in the theaters and didn't care for the jiggling home movie footage. It made him dizzy and he didn't care for it. So I didn't see it in the theater. When it came available on VHS at Blockbuster my friend strongly suggested that I see. She said, "watch it alone and in the dark." I did and the movie creeped me out. It was unique at the time and nothing that had been seen before. Now "found footage" movies are a dime a dozen.
You're going to have a 3 person panel, but you only have 2 mics onstage? Brilliant. You could at least sIt the panelist closer together so that the mic isn't an arm's length reach each time someone wants to talk. Sheesh!!
How freaking RUDE and distracting of the audience to actually have the NERVE to be chatting in the background!!! Why didn't the mc or authorities do something th shut them up!!!??!!?
The voices you hear are in the dealers room on the other side of the wall behind me. Sometimes they played loud music. They stopped that after complaints were made.
Peter Lashway Oh I see. I did think that it could have been some people out of the audience, but then it did sound like people in the audience weren't paying any attention to the cast. Thanks for telling us Peter :)
Josh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Josh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where the fuck are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in high school when this movie came out and this kid in our class named Josh got harassed with that :D
This makes me think... has anyone here heard of Sacred Riana? The reason I’m bringing her up on here is 20 years ago, “The Blair Witch Project” movie broke new ground in the horror genre when I thought there was no new ground. The found-footage sub-genre was born, after this came movies like “Cloverfield”, “Quraretine” and the “Paranormal Activity” franchise. 20 years later it happened happened again, another new ground was broken. Another genre not just involving movies. It’s strange I discovered this exactly 20 years after first seeing TBWP ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MjQ7YfInQDI.html This girl has continued this tradition and broke another new ground in horror. Horror is no longer confined to just movies and books. It’s almost as if Heather, Mike and Josh opened Pandora’s box.....20 years later...”Pandora” (Riana) is coming for that box. Now...with all that said...(joke but not a bad idea?) I like to see all 3 of them at one of Sacred Raina’s show and she would summon all 3 of them on the stage with her. 😄 (And if anyone think it’s a dumb idea or anology, please be as gentle as possible, I do have a hard time expressing things into words)
Awesome commentary and panel session. I loved what the Blair Witch Project did in the late 90s. Especially with the website and documentary set up and released ahead of and in conjunction with the theatrical release. I experienced it all in real time. I knew it was fiction bc of Sundance but it was still amazing to be a part of. BUT... As an AV person them not having to pass around 2 mics was extremely annoying. I mean come on. You knee there was going to be 3 of them on stage. Why not have a 3rd mic?!
Most of been a bit of a disappointment when you seen the end credits telling you... All characters and events depicted in this film are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
+Danimal300zx Yeah I thought the same. Surely they could afford 3 microphones, especially seen as their job is to interview people. They should get more mics.
Anyone not happy with the audio...there is another video of this, shot from a different angle. That one has TERRIBLE video, but much better audio. Listen to that one, watch this one. Just sync them up roughly, and you're good. No annoying chatter, and much clearer, too.
I wonder if someone gave them a camera now and told them to go out in the woods, would they be able to do what they did then. Like obviously a lot of people know its fake now but it would still be interesting to see but there would be no point. There is like 11 hours of extra footage if someone wanted to release a movie with more scary things that happened.
In an interview, with the cast in the latest Blair Witch movie, which was also really scary, they said there was a cougar in the woods, where they were filming. A bit unnerving
