@@Nick-Edwards ruby and Leroy are the ogs but did you watch the build process of mullet on ksr’s channel? Mullet is is close as you can get to a promod while still being a street car, fully purpose built, and with that 540 smx engine, a lot more power on tap and a lot more technology and gadgets to control what the car is doing.

Had a Blazer like that years ago. Just an FYI, those new headlights aren't installed correctly. IIRC, there's a clip they need to slip into first underneath to get them to sit straight. Right now, they're aiming up at the trees. I know, mine was the same way when I got it. Just thought I'd give you some friendly info. ;-)

@@alpha6ix222 yep...but still... the old lights didnt do that. My 01 truck and blazer are both the same way. gotta get the bottom clip in first. Should be a tad more than 1 finger width between light and grill, not 2+ fingers(its a bigger gap there than the lower lights as air does flow through there, but not that damn big)

Man, Ruby looks like a completely different car. She looks so good! I've been missing the Ruby content lately so I'm anxious to see her run again. Really excited to see the Blazer run too. Are those timing belt tensioners even supposed to tension on the inside toothed part? It's smooth and not toothed, so I'd think it should tension on the back side of the belt. Seems it would be best to get a short belt and tension on the back side of it. That gives the belt more wrap around the actual pulleys (each tooth is having to do less work).

I was actually going to say the same thing. Belt tension has been an issue over here at McFarland fab for years...FYI if you see the belt bounce around after you let off the gas pedal...No Good. ....lol

@@carmelaruck7116 Improper belt routing must be an automotive thing. Every picture I looked at with a giant timing belt had a smooth tensioner on the inside riding on the teeth. SMH. If one wants to tension on the inside, they should at least use a toothed idler. If it was me I'd use 2 smooth idlers on the outside to pinch the belt and get that belt wrapped tight around the pulleys. But I work with industrial equipment, so I guess I know nothing of power transmission technology. And I just thought of timing cams with belts. OEMs use smooth idlers on the back side of the belt, and never a smooth idler on the inside of the belt.

It's my understanding that they aren't tensioned from the smooth side of the belt because the belts aren't designed to be bent in that direction. As far as the tension goes I can't say for sure if it's right or not without being there but the belt will be on the loose side until the engine warms up. Being an aluminum block and heads they tend to grow and tighten up the belt a fair bit.
