Ignore at your own peril. I wonder if we have learned how fast these types of things are happening in our world today? It will be amazing to see how this unfolds. Well done Manuel!

@@simple22travel11 giving the 6 billion people with smartphones the opportunity to own digital property, which by itself is awesome but becomes especially important at a time when every country l’s fiat currency is losing value incredibly fast. It is past-due time to move past the middlemen and gate-keepers of value, and give each human being the inherent right to hold the value directly in their own hands, without needing the permission of banks and other corrupt people/organizations.

This movie is well done, inspiring documentary. As a long time blockchain believer, I found many valid points that were new to me, especially about antagonists of this technology. I do see mainstream finance sector will be rather opposing it than supporting and adpoting it. The main reason is that blockchain technology will put a lot of business models at risk of vanishing. Fortunately this revolution has already started, and cannot be stopped.

Well done for sure. Should have a lot more views, just shows you that this tech is still unknown to the majority of people out there, but the day will come.

Mr. Stagars: I am a profesisonal aviator. Your comparison to aviation I found intriguing, especially since I have operated in/out of that particular Swiss airport. I have come to the revolution because of my military strategist training and experience that taught me to locate the disruptor, be it a thought, idea, or weapon system. Lastly, as a photographer, I appreciated your cinematography. Stylistically, it is appealing and edifies the story. Thank you.

I love the airplane analogy.. we hardly know how to actually fly an airplane.. but we have all declared our suitcases, got past security and boarded an air-craft to reach so many destinations.. and so with crypto-currency!
@noneuno2296
@noneuno2296 7 лет назад
Actually, in reality, an airplane in the sky is continually falling back to earth, while air is pushed out at high velocity by the engine(s), and the physical shape of the plane counteracts the fall. The hope is the plane goes from a known point A to a known point B and doesn't end up between point A and point B, at an unexpected point C and in a huge fireball.
@whoyatoya

I used the "we all fly but most don't know how to pilot an aircraft analogy way back in 2011. Used it at many crypto conferences. 🤔

Honestly, and this is constructive criticism, I got nothing out of this documentary whatsoever. One man started explaining what blockchain is, but that was it. You basically have a lot of people talking about abstract concepts for an audience which either doesn't understand what blockchain is or which already knows 95 % of what is being said because they understand blockchain.

In Ontario, Canada, a dollar creates another dollar through 13% taxation when it moves 8 times. This is a huge source of revenue that governments wont give up. An unbreakable blockchain represents a threat to state taxation.

Excellent documentary. I was hesitant to watch it because I thought it might be more explanation than application. I can find enough videos for the explanation part. Instead this gave an excellent view from the companies and people working with it. I was very pleased to hear how many of them see this as a true opportunity for the whole population not just a way to make a quick buck.

A 32-minute infomercial. Nothing more. This film was 99.5% promotion and 0.5% substance. I came here thinking I would learn something about how blockchain and cryptocurrencies work. Instead, I found expressions of love by the early adopters, over and over and over.

This was great! Could you do a follow up zooming in to more "real world" examples of how it can be used? Like the idea of people being able to send each other money without a bank being involved. I think this already happens today, but actually showing us a step by step of how this is done and/or how it will be done in future would be very interesting.

I think it is quite repetitive, superficial and obvious what most (not all) people said in this sequence of interviews. But why nobody talks about fundamental questions like: - risks (transaction & account data are synchronized million times but...how can I keep my data secure?) - who actually makes money (fewer and fewer big miners?) - security (if my wallet disappears...whom could I call to declare that my PC was hacked?) - trust on ICO companies (so many out there......is there any kind of 'insurance' to be able to give them real money to get crypto currency?) - how huge failures in this arena could have been avoided (exemple: bitcoinist.com/cryptocurrency-failures-all-time/) If we think that Blockchain is the future we have to educate and seriously create trust around this architecture of the 'normal' people (like me..)

It takes massive amount of energy and people to keep the blockchain up and running. Every time a transaction is mined and processed, the difficulty increases. When that happens, it takes more energy, people, and computing power to mine and prosses a transaction. When that happen it cost more the miners more $$$ and makes mining less profitable. That can potentially result the transaction fee to increase., or most of the miner will stop mining it., which could result longer or more expensive to do a transaction. Maybe it is possible trasaction fee might get so high it would not even be worth it.

It would be a better documentary if the author didn't have mentioned the glider inventors as the plane inventor. Airplanes were invented by Santos Dumont a Brazilian guy who first flew in a self propelled machine capable of take off in diverse climate conditions and without rails. He flew for 220m around the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 1906. Fact well documented and publicized. Check it: pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/História_da_aviação

20:30 When anything becomes common it becomes less valuable. Money that is plentiful = money that is worthless. Why would a person work their ass off for something that can just be picked off the street? When money is too easy to get people will trade in something that is more difficult valued and harder to get. I would like someone to ask this man where he learned economics.

when have you been all around the world at the same time? We just had electric go out in LA and NY. Electric grids are actient here in States. Congress can shut down internet. Bitcoin can be hacked. Nothing backing it. On and on. It's a pipe dream and the Govt is playing you. Hope you can get outt at the right time. Govts are coming for us all. The hunt for taxes is on. Just be careful.
@leotreasure
@leotreasure 7 лет назад
United States Congress could shut down the Internet but not in every country. And if that happens, we're going to have far bigger problems than storing value. Luckily for me, I'm not in the US. Bitcoin can be hacked, yes, but not easily if you store it properly. I should know, having been hacked for a large amount when I was storing it on my laptop. I now use cold storage. There's nothing technically backing Bitcoin, or government currencies either. Value comes from people using it. If you accept government money, you're giving value to it. Why not accept Bitcoin too, to reduce the governments'/banks' monopoly on money?

Well put together video but the guy at 13:24 sums it up nicely: "I'm not an engineer, I don't know how any of that works" (talking about the iPhone). The people in this video kept repeating that this technology is going to be huge, but never really fully explained why, and how. It's seems like they're all in marketing or something. It was quite meaningless the first time they said it, and it was just as pointless the third or fourth time.
