First successfully made and used by Colin Hughes (aka San Yen) around 1944, the rights to manufacture were grated in 1978 to Ian Ogiley and his wife Bernice Hughes (no relation to Colin but daughter of legendary builder Jack Hughes) of PROPS Magic. Though 50 were planned, due to the difficulty of building them and likely the death of Jack Hughes in 1981 it is not clear that even 2 dozen were ever made.
