I'm surprised by how much I ended up liking this movie. It has a cyberpunk Tokyo feel mixed with explicitly violent scenes and I love that the emotional core of the movie was the bond between Kate and Ani.

This movie actually really surprised me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure the story is predictable but if you have good characters, they will make up for it. Kate and Ani are great characters.

Really good film. It did the badass female lead way better than 99% of movies out there. She used a gun/knife in most fights, was creative/resourceful to get the upper hand, and got the living crap beaten out of her in the process (which honestly should happen to all badass leads, male or female, when they're fighting so many people). Would definitely watch a sequel in the cinema (if that's somehow possible:))

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is such an underrated actress. Been a fan of her since Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. I'll be watching this just for her!! Edit : Just saw the movie and I wasn't dissapointed at all, Mary Elizabeth Winstead saved this movie, she made it semi watchable, I love every scene that has her in it. She's really capable of being an action star from an emotional standpoint to the physical standpoint she's actually really damn good. The story is quite predictable but overall it was a fun action movie and for a Netflix movie, the action scenes were directed better than I expected and the fight choreograph was pretty good. This is just script problem but I absolutely had a great time watching it. Would love to see Mary in more action movies just with a better script. Still looking forward to see what else she does!!! She's indeed a great underrated actress

I’m glad the western audience liked this movie but for a Japanese audience it’s as cheesy as the Japanese scenes of Kill Bill. If it took itself less seriously maybe it’d be better received in Japan. The only plus side is the main actress did a great job for what she was given. Too bad what she was given was “white women beats up Japanese men over and over again, and only a white man can stop her” film more fit for WW2 propaganda than 2024.
