To people who are asking how free to play Blue Archive is, let me answer it. Short Answer? Yes, it's very f2p Long Answer? I have a global account and I have played after a month or so since launch, to this day. I currently have over 127 students and I am completely free to play. I'm also a Genshin Player at AR 60 that played since the 2nd day of Genshin's launch. I'm not completely f2p with genshin, with me buying 5x welkin and 1 battlepass. Playing both I can compare their f2p-ness quite well. For starters, Genshin's pity system carries over to the next banners while Blue Archive's pity system does not. Genshin's pity also doesn't hard resets if you fail to meet the pity before the banner ends unlike Blue Archive which does. In BA if you fail to reach 200 pulls before the banner ends, the pity will reset to 0 hence why it's not recommended to roll until you have 24k pyroxenes to guarantee 200. But don't think that BA's pity is bad because unlike Genshin, BA's pity doesn't reset everytime you get the featured character. So for example in Genshin, if you get Arlecchino at 120 rolls(you lost the 50/50), the pity resets to 0 and you need to roll 2x 90 again to get Lyney. In Blue Archive though, if there is a simultaneous 4 banners going on(lets say all the bunny girls, B.Karin, B.Asuna, B.Neru, B.Akane) and you have 200 rolls ready, it can go like this. You rolled 30x and got B.Asuna, the pity is at 30 and it doesn't reset. You rolled 50x and got B.Karin, the pity still doesn't reset and now at 80, you rolled 120x and got B.Neru at the last 10 roll, the pity is now at 200. Because you have 200 pity, you can now claim anyone of the 4 banner characters and this time you claim B.Akane. As you saw, with 200 rolls I got 4 different featured characters. This happens a lot more than you think, it at least happened to me multiple times hence why I have a lot students. In my opinion, I prefer Blue Archive's pity system better. For those who cannot control themselves and wants to keep rolling instead of waiting, Genshin's pity is for you but for me who can, BA's pity is better. I have never been tempted to spend money in BA precisely because of how f2p it is, in comparison to my Genshin. Admittedly, the last time I spent money on Genshin was 2 years ago, it was only when I still didn't have my perfected teams. Nowadays, I only roll when I like the character or when they supplement my teams, case in point Chiori for my Navia team. I skipped Neuv and Arle for her, because I didn't need a new dps, I already have a lot of built teams with dedicated dps. Anyway, this has been long. mhm I agree with everything you said I have been playing it for a good while now and I have 106 students and I haven't spent any money on the game other then on guarantee 3 star tickets in the shop which funny I was spooked by Aru all the time with them which is insane LOL (not complaining love that dork so much❤) like you mentioned I rolled on the Mika banner going back and I got her with the pity and ended up sparking for Nagisa and I got spooked by a lot of girls as well reaching that 200 spark this doesn't always happen but it happens a hell of a lot more then in other gacha I have played and has happened multiple times to me like you mentioned, I also like that if you have the amount you need for a spark you can just choose who you want and know you are safe in getting them. I used to play a lot of FGO still kinda do for the story but spent a lot of money on it which I have stopped and now, BA has become my main gacha which I don't spend any money on at all other then those 3 star guarantee tickets but it feels like I have got more characters in that then the other gacha I have played also love the characters and story so much in BA volume F is 10/10 ^-^
I've gotten used to seeing it, but it still bugs me the tiniest bit that "Aris(u)" stuck as her name in the Global version. AL-1S. Her railgun even says "Alice" on it. A close second is Fina/フィーナ somehow turning into "Pina".
@@norwa3518sure it's cute but it doesn't make sense at all to have her name on Global be "Aris(u)". Sure that's how they pronounce it on JP but, tell me, can you even read AL-1S as "Aris(u)". It's not that I hate it but yeah.
Volume F spoilers but I was bothered by that too but not anymore since volume F confirmed that the mistranslation was on purpose since Momoi read it as Aris so the GDC went with Aris like how Key's name became Kay I quote Aris' line: "Kay can be what Kay wants to be. Kay does not need permission to exist from anyone. That is why I like the name Kay. It is a name that came to be just because of a mispronunciation. Like my name, Aris. There is no reason, meaning, or purpose behind "Kay"."
@@nark182 The mispronunciation that Aris talks about in that quote is not referencing "Aris vs Alice" it's referencing "AL-1S vs Aris/Alice", me personally I just say Arisu because that's what she uses when talking in 3 person.
Fun fact about the translation issue. It's still ongoing now even in JP. It's amazing how JP players vented how some translation didn't make sense and I realized that they probably did direct translate from Korean. It was bad enough that they had to do a maintenance to revamp the dialogue in the event story. Nonetheless, free rocks!
I remember about people saying to skip Miku banner because Ako was right after and shes a really good buffer but in the end I still pulled for Miku because she was limited and I got her and also got Ako on someone else's banner a few months after and I dont regret my choice because I love Miku and I want to have every character in the game
A nice thing is, for the Hasumi event rerun, they kept the free maxed out UE50 T Hasumi, so people really could get a shot at one of the most useful ST Blue attackers
