Congrats on the new edition to your family! As a retired US Army helicopter pilot I wore a survival vest every time I flew for 20 years, now I carry a survival kit in my C172M, great idea, not only for yourself but you might be able to bail out a picking buddy at a jam session.
Mr Banjo Ben … I can’t express enough on how much you have changed my life! I’m a gold pick member beginner banjo player. I’ve had my banjo for 45 years 😳 but for 44 years, the only song I knew was Cripple Creek. Your teaching method (by the way, your personality is a huge part of what makes your teaching method awesome!) is a perfect fit for me and now I know 8 more songs! I play every day and I love it! So … thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for making a difference in my life! God Bless you!
Hi Ben, recent new gold pick member. Love the videos. Picked up the old Iida after letting it sit for 35 yrs and your roll videos are teaching things I never grasped in the first failed attempt to learn. Thank you for all the time you put in.
Good data Ben. After playing guitar for over 50 years I am learning banjo and have gleamed much from your videos the past several years....keep em coming and play on!
Great looking survival kit! All it's missing is a face shield for deflecting launched fruits and vegetables, but that probably just tells you more about my picking than you need to know.😃
Love Banjo Ben’s lessons and store!! Being a Gold Pick member is so worth it!! So much content and not enough time to watch it all. Keep up the great work, Banjo Ben!! Thanks!!
With this kit and my good ol' swiss army knife, I would feel prepared for anything! Thanks Banjo Ben for putting all the banjo survival necessities together. MacGyver would be proud.
Looks like great practical stuff to have on hand. Been a Gold Pick member for quite some time and love it. This old lady loves your lessons and being able to refer to them at any time. Happy pickin'!!!
Hi Ben. I don’t need (or want) the kit. I’m commenting because I know you’ll read it. I want to say that you are the true survivor. Today I watched a mandolin vid from 2008 (complete with spit cup). As much as we are learning, you also have learned a LOT.
Thank you, James! Yes, I have learned a lot, and it’s because of kind folks like you that have helped me. Thank you for your support and encouragement!
This looks like an awesome kit. And I'm just a poor ole boy strugglin to learn the banjo. Man, that would be sooooo helpful for me. I got a membership about 2 weeks ago and am loving it, working my way thru your beginner series on both the banjo and the mandolin. Thanks for having me...
Great kit idea! I also typically recommend bringing and wearing a kevlar vest, just in case the guitarist decides that the jam needs to go "Manzanita" style in a hurry. 👍
The Banjo Ben survival kit is just what a person needs when they're in need and as for myself, I am very in need indeed. Whether country or bluegrass or folk or pop, clawhammer or scruggs you won't have to stop....if....you have the Banjo Ben Survival kit.
This looks to the perfect kit every banjo owner needs, love the idea of the better capo versus the clamp on one i have been learning with that always seems to be in the way of left hand movement.
Your survival kit is a great idea and it’s loaded with useful common sense items. I can’t wait to see what you have lined up for guitar and mandolin survival kits!
Putting together a banjo pickers survival kit is an excellent idea. Been wanting to try the finger picks and your medium strings (I bet they would sound awesome on a huber).
Great information a great teacher. I am a gold pick member on Ben’s website and I have learned so much from the instruction there. I got to attend one of his banjo camps in Nashville and it was a great learning experience.
Hi, Ben - I recently became a lifetime member to spruce up my mandolin skills and learn the banjo! I purchased a Goldtone from the General Store will all the appropriate accessories, but this would be REEEEELLL NIIIIICE to have! Looking forward to being able to attend a camp sometime. Twang is good.
I really like what you have put together in this kit. I have fooled around with picking at the banjo for many years now. I am one of your charter Gold Members and I really like your video lessons. As of January 1st I have retired from teaching math at our local college and am looking forward to really getting into learning the Gold Tone banger that I bought from your store. Please keep up the good work.
Yeap I could definitely use the kit..awesome as usaul. BanjoBen comes through everytime for me been a longtime follower and it will continue to do so..
Wow I think through the years I have bought like 99% of these items the shubb capo is a must and all my banjos here have snark tuners with the clip. Also a must not in the kit is the drum dial can't imagine tuning the head without one. Ben great store and the BEST BANJO LEARNING SITE ANYWHERE.
Great stuff! It’s a good thing you’re so passionate about all things banjo. Imagine if you were passionate about something else like the kazoo. Kazoo Ben just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
The bell is rung and my hat's in the ring for the Survival Kit! I lost out on buying the Rich Era RB-250 from you a few days ago. Maybe a free Survival Kit will be my consolation prize!
We still snark hunt in Tennessee, how about you? Just watched the Huber video series, I had no idea of the love and care I need to give my banjo! Thanks for what you and your folks do for us all!!
Awesome Ben. I'm needing a banjo upgrade for my 13 year old daughter. Her current one is a aft of a beginner banjo. I basically need a next step banjo. Any suggestions would be great. Todd
Hey Todd! That’s great! It of course would depend on what your budget is. But in addition, it’s so important that the banjo is set up well to play. I’m not trying to sell you my services here, but good setup on cheaper banjos is what we’re good at. We can make a cheap one be a great learner. If you go to this link and filter by low to high price you’ll see some Morgan Monroe banjos that would work great. If you wanna step up a bit, check out the Deering Goodtime 2 banjo: store.banjobenclark.com/collections/banjo/?sort_by=price-ascending
