To have a singing group is not an unusual thing To have a singing
family is not so unique since singing families seem to be riding a high wave
in the field of gospel music. However to be a part of the Bob Robinson
family is not only unique but also a dream come true.
As all lovers of gospel music are aware, Bob Robinson is no stranger
to gospel music having sung with some of the greats viz, Deep South
Quartet, LeFevres, Sons of Song He was selected as "Mr Gospel Singer of
America" in the late fifties, and has been copied more often by gospel
soul singers than almost anyone. He is known as the man with a tear in
his voice - very interpretive and inspiring in his musical offerings
Long ago I saw the gleam in Bob's eye as Deborah and Dan would
come with their mother Mary to hear Bob sing Mary, being the possessor
of a voice unequalled in range and timber, often would join with Bob
singing However, the kids would just sit and look longingly and admiringly
at Mom and Dad, waiting until their time come
Well, it's here now; "Deb" and "Dan" have graduated from school
Dan having enrolled in college, Deb having become a much sought after
hair stylist and beauty consultant - but they like to sing
This group is a pure family group - no outsiders, just Mom, Dad,
son, and daughter; and when the heritage which they have individually,
plus the Spirit of the Lord guiding their lives was meshed - something
good had to happen IT DID The results are the cause of many souls
being won to Christ through their ministry of song and music.
Often dreaming of this day and speaking almost in reverent tones of
the tomorrow they longed for - finally they have realized the consumma-
tion of at least one of their goals, their first long play album.
The Bob Robinson family wants you to like it. I believe you will when
you listen to "that which was spoken of".
