Check out gordon ryans body lock passing. Lachlan forgets or just didnt mention that you need your opponents heels as close as possible to their glutes ( their ass) that kills the sweep. Once their heels are pressed against their glutes they literally can not elevate you.
From Gi because of the loop choke it’s a lot safer to go for the one over one under pass as your head would be on the right side of their body instead of exposed. I’m not sure maybe Lachlan has other ideas but that’s just what I do
You almost never see it happen. When you see Butterfly Hook Sweeps, the Bottom Player usually raises their back off the mat, then brings it back down with the Top Player to generate power. In the Body-Lock Pass, the Bottom Player's lower back is so stuck to the mat they can't get anything going.
My opponent pushing on my head when attempting this pass kills it for me. Any quick tips to counter this? (I will buy the instructional when i have more funds available)
Jack Taylor I would maybe try to rhino with your head a bit more the create that smashing pressure before they can really stiff arm your head down ...hope that helps a little . I’m a little stuck on the tripod part to pass the half guard it seems like a good oopa with toss you right off. Going to try this out today. Lol
That does kill any forward movement of your upper torso but I usually resort to gordan Ryan's leg pummeling techniques to get past their gaurd and try to reposition at their hips before addressing the stiff arm on head.
Yeah, so, I just jump right over all of that. *If you smash you hips to one side of the leg and mat, you can slide your way to the pass. **_It's easy peezy cover girl!_*
