The feasts definitely feel like an interesting change. Having the Meadows one for sculling around your base is nice. Also I like the idea of combining an Ashlands feast with say another Eitr food and a health food to give a bit more Eitr without sacrificing so much stamina.
So the new server is gonna have a MASSIVE kitchen/feasting hall area for sure...I already have some crazy ideas about the new tavern build and we've not even started the server yet! Can't wait to dive in and try out these things and do some tests, great overview and first impressions vid (like we expect any less from you these days!)
@@Veklimabso-freaking-lootly! We're also going to have to learn from our mistake of having everything all in one place and slowing down the frames per second into the teens.
It seemed like most of the food prep table items were items that need to be cooked after they are made. So now the cauldron only makes food that can be immediately eaten after crafting I guess
Well, i never thought I'd be posting about oxford commas on a valheim vod, but here we are! Couldnt agree more with you waffles, although you don't seem to be getting too much love here, in your comments, about it. Sad. Your pet peeves seem to be as follows: not using caps per word on portal names, not having a space in between said aforementioned portal names and not using oxford commas.
The scythe may not be a weapon, but you did get farming exp trying to whack that grey dwarf. :) Note that both Haldor and Hildir have new items also. You should visit them... :)
A while ago I built a huge single longhouse base. The center hosts a big hearth with cooking facilities. The area around, is split into quadrants: 1 Storage 2 Crafting 3 Living and sleeping area 4 A huge pile of ~ 40000 gold, because I had nothing else to put there. Now I know what I'll replace the pile of gold with: A big feasting area. 30:43 It does not unlock items twice. The second unlock is the "dish" for the serving table. Similar to the separate unlocks for the crafting hammer and the cultivator. 36:04 Finally my ultra-wide monitor will be useful in Valheim, showing all the mead effects at once. 36:53 If they did not change the way weaknesses and resistances interact, the Berserkir Mead should work really well with Bonemass power, because resistances completely override weaknesses. You discovered it to last only 20s. But what is it's cooldown? Can you hotbar a stack, and just chain jug them, while fighting? If that works, popping bonemass and then chain jugging berserkir meads, sounds quite powerful, because at the same time, you take more useful time out of one bonemass use, cutting out stamina management time.
@@WafflesGamesProbably Oh. Is it chug, not jug? Don't know if it shows often, but English is not my native language. Anyways, thanks for the info. I guess considering the synergy with bonemass, the 20 s might be justified. But 30 s sounds also fine. Generally I think a world modifier setting for buff durations of meads, powers and the rested buff, would be a nice idea.
I was looking forward to your review. Thanks waffles. Edit: thanks for reading the item fluff. Well narrated! I look forward to checking out the update when it goes live.
Also, it seems like feasts mechanic will allow us to take food out of our inventory. 50min is great. Consolidate farming, consolidate cooking. This is great.
@@WafflesGamesProbably thanks for getting back to me so quiclly. Side note, you might want to look at Haldor and HIldir to see what unlocked at their post since you talked to the Bog Witch.
I'm wondering if your feasts disappearing after you pick them up was a result of no cost building? Same thing happens when you break down walls and such when in no build cost mode.
Rumor has it (from another video) that 2 brooms show up and if you kill both you get a trophy. I've not tried it yet. I wouldnt do it on your main server as it seems they don't re-spawn.
I think the content is great. But this update misses a good oportunity to allow players to use magic before mistlands, by adding a specific potion or food item giving eytir, and a first staff craftable with a witch item
Valheim lacks end game repeatable content with a scalable reward. After beating the Ashlands there is nothing to keep players around. Love this game though.
I find the new world modifications give replay value- hard core, immersive, no map, no portal, you can make your own challenge. Plus every world is a new world. Make a challenge of weapon type. Been loving watching the Trophy hunt competitions. Ashlands is not the end, just the end right now - Deep North is next. Dare I say it- winter is coming.
