The Deer Hunter is a tough sit. I've never finished it, it feels like it's ten tedious hours long. I found The Thin Red Line easier to enjoy (in fact, I have seen and liked it more than once).

I wanted to disagree with Jay about movies, but then his comment about watching tv shows within 3 months of it ending. I wanted to auto disagree with that too, but then he brought up The Wire. I tried to watch it a few months ago and couldn't get into it. Then he brings up Lost Highway and I am adopting his opinion on recommending movies and tv.

Frankly I'd rather Dan spend his time watching Chinatown and Deer Hunter than Rudy and Felix Navidad. Even if he only watches them to tear them apart on the radio. I think it makes for better content to make fun of stuff 90% of listeners have seen than stuff 100% of listeners haven't seen and have no interest in going back and watching.
