The details he brings out, The way the Lord had infused the family with wisdom, courage and influence --in the HIGHEST places is ASTOUNDING. I read it in 2019, as the Lord was graciously preparing me for what was to come 😢(I also read 1984 during that time, whoa😮). Stand strong. Remember the image of the ONE man with his arms folded in a sea of raised ones!

Bonhoffer was an example for all of us. A friend gave me a copy of THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP . It was written by a brilliant man Bonhoffer. I had to carefully read 1 page at a time I even underlined high points. We lost a great man of God hung only 3 wee k s before liberation

Read Eric Metaxes' book "A Letter to the Church". He started with this story of Bonhoeffer. May we be revived to be the voices of God's truth in these days.

Notwithstanding Bonhoeffer's picking up of the "sword", he questioned the virgin birth, historicity of the resurrection, said the New Testament was full of "myths", said that Genesis 1 was written because of man's "naivety", and clearly said that the creation account of Adam was a myth. It says something about the sorry state of modern "Christianity" that someone who defended lies and deceit is heralded as a hero of the faith. We read in Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight."

Lord help us to not just hear but do. May the zeal and passion for You burn within us causing us to take action.

Yes we have to stand as a light on a hill. But we are in the end times, these things are predicted to happen

The Church in America has made a Faustian bargain- selling our spiritual birthright for “a mess of pottage”. In aligning ourselves with, and claiming God’s favor for, one who embodies the very *_inverse_* of everything the Beatitudes call us to as followers of Christ, we blaspheme the Name and desecrate the character of the One whom we represent- He whom we call Lord. And we will answer to Him for it. Like so much of the Church in Germany of Bonhoeffer’s time, we have betrayed our faith and compromised our witness, in seeking to serve another master. (And we apparently lack even the discernment to tell a Nebuchadnezzar from a King Saul) …We do, indeed, gravely and urgently need to wake up and heed Bonhoeffer’s warning.
