As a Christian, I don't perceive this trailer as a mockery at all. In fact, I see it as an interesting perspective of how an envious and/or narcissistic person , could've been inspired by Jesus in a negative way due to their own greed. What’s crazy is that I was agnostic/atheist and when I got called I felt SICK to my stomach, and couldn’t even believe this was a legitimate thing. I didn’t believe in spirits but now I do. One of my favorite film critics, Matt Page saw this at a festival and said some things that make me want to see this more. First, the main character is a con man from the start. I’m not sure whether he learns his lesson or if this is a Breaking Bad situation where the villain is the main character. Page also said that the casting seems to be an artistic choice in order to show how bigoted the Romans were towards Christians and Jewish people. For example, every historical record that we have of Pilate highlights his brutal antisemitism.

@@Mo-sk7xo Totally agree with you. Try to make an historical approach to the figure of Moses and end up choosing an actor with western features was lame (probably, the only good cast choice for that movie was sir Ben Kingsley). Same as choosing black actors to play the 1st century hebrews and Jesus, who should have middle-eastern features, or choosing ultra white skin actors like James McAvoy to represents the Romans, who should have more mediterranian features and taned skin. In other words, f@#€ing lame alltogether man...
