At the end of the list of important editions of the Book of Mormon, you could also include the Yale Edition produced by Royal Skousen which compares all the former editions.
I loved this! I have loved every single episode I’ve listened to. My only complaint is they aren’t an hour❤️. I realize though that we learn line upon line and grace to grace. In the spirit of this learning, each episode enriches my understanding of the past, present and future of my understanding. My faith has grown line upon line. I’ll just keep feasting on the 30 minute graces😊
I think there's a lot to be said for the last sentence in the title page of the Book of Mormon, "And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ."
5:00 That's an excellent point. Look what happened with the Dead Sea Scrolls. They were translated academically and not many are religiously considering the total content. The Book of Enoch and the Book of the Giants are yet largely disregarded. I'm not saying they should be considered scripture, but they way they've come to light has not inspired a religious acceptance of them.
So why wasn’t Smith’s final rewrite used as the standard for later editions once it was published? Seems like that would be the gold standard (excluding the actual gold plates of course).
