THE BOOK OF REVELATION // Session 5: An Introduction to Revelation Chapter 1 

My whole world is turned upside down by this teaching and I am now seeing just how little I know of Jesus and I am so saddened. This has given me an urgency to truly understand and get to know Christ. Thank you for opening my eyes to my short comings. This message was both grace and truth. Please, pray for me that I may start and stay on a long and intimate journey to get to know the true Christ from here on out. I am so disappointed in myself that I have gone so far in life without realizing this...

I concur with you brother. The bible needs to be studied in great detail front to back just like I did in the big house. I said to myself " Welp. While I'm here I might as well go ahead and give it a go". So I did what the good Lord told me to do. I picked up a KJV and went to work. I couldn't be more happy when I finished it but when I did I went straight back to the beginning and did it again. The bible is meant to be read over repeatedly because every time you do it, something new is always revealed. More understanding, more knowledge, and everything in between. It sure did beat hanging with the wrong crowd while I was in there by keeping to myself, keeping my nose clean, and praying for understanding. The Lord laid so many of these things on my spirit back in 2011. I came out of the church system, and I’ve ended up right back in it. Still seeing the mess that it is, but because of lack of finding fellowship with other believers who even remotely understand these things. I only go now for the fellowship. I had a dream in 2012 and it was like Jesus set down right beside of me, he then spoke to me on the book of revelation. He told me, “ the book is not a bunch of events, but rather a revealing of Of who he is”. I was blown away, because at the time I was studying and thinking only on the events surrounding it. Yes, many events are shown, but that is not the purpose of the book. I’ve been praying for the Lord to place other believers in my life with the same revelations I’ve had. Not to single out anyone, but I think it is very important to have those relationships. Thank you guys for stepping out and speaking truth I can imagine you receive a ton of backlash.

I was recently saved and after spending 6 months in the hospital I found myself wanting to dive right in somehow share with others my story and sadly it seems anything involved with church now days cost money but luckily I have found you guys I hope one day to be a powerful voice for God but for now I will be studying with you and hopefully through gaining wisdom and knowledge the Lord will open doors for me on this new path to God be the Glory

Amazing explanation on the local church. I , too, have been indoctrinated that I need a local church, but I can't find one that's really on fire for God now, while other churches have a different teaching (sad to say that many churches have lost vision and missed on its true calling). Many teachers/pastors don't really study the scriptures and they don't even know about the book of revelation or have different interpretations. This really makes me sad. Thank the Lord for the internet and I can access real teachings such as this.

To look at this book of the Bible from the Apostle John's perspective of the Lord Jesus is an aboslute blessing and not seeing it just as and end time event book for just knowledge. Read revelation in my life maybe 5-8 times. Recently came back to the Lord after being lukewarm for 10 years. I went through the New Testament twice now in the last 6 months and today I’m starting the book of revelation over again. But this time is different. About 17 years ago I started playing guitar and I wanted to put in 10,000 hours as quick as possible so I figured I’d color code each musical note. That way when I’d hear a certain note, I’d see music in color as well. In 3 years I mastered guitar with this method. What’s different with reading the Bible is that I’m applying the same method of color coding different topics. For example: Absolutes:yellow Suffering & tribulation:green Commandments:purple Eschatology:blue Marriage/female verses:pink Abominations/wrath of God:red Now when I flip through pages, I’ll quickly be able to identify topics. As I’m starting the book of revelation again, I’ll be watching this video series everyday as well. Everything Dalton and Joel talk about I am in complete agreement with. Love you brothers. In reading the gospel of John, it always brings a smile when he says "the disciple whom Jesus loved"....he says it several several times.....and he was right.......Jesus knew that John loved him truly and deeply...and returned that love in like manner......I believe that's whyJesus trusted him with the care of his very own mother, after his death.......Who else would he trust with the message of the Revelation? and as far as yearning and missing and longing for His return, I can relate......I've had a feeling of "missing someone" for a long long time concerning the Messiah......I miss him, although I've never met him or seen him in reality, never touched him or heard him laugh.......it's a strange feeling, but I can just imagine the joy in John's heart when he saw his beloved friend on that lonely island.........takes my breath away.......Much love to you Dalton, as y'all bring this beautiful series to us, I'm looking forward to every session!

I bet John in Revelation had such a profoundly beautiful relationship with Jesus that was comparable to that of David and Jonathan like how like they loved each other as friends and that love still existed but John not only saw David as just an ordinary friend but acknowledged him as his lord in terms of him being King.

I have was called out by name, I heard my name called, I heard door knocking when there was no one there, I was pursued by Yeshua. I was in a bookstore, saw the book The Life of Christ”. Reading it, I declared Jesus us the way! I was then led to buy a New Testament “Good News for Modern Man”. I read the New Testament 5 times. Then the Holy Spirit said I was ready to read the Old. I fell deeply in love with Israel! I felt the live that Yehovah and Yeshua have. I feel a deep burden for Israel, I have been called to come along side them. I love reaching out to the Jews and express my love for Israel and the Jews, I defend them against the lies of the enemy, I buy Israeli products. I know my home is Jerusalem, it is written on my heart along with the Law of Moses given by Yehovah. The Holy Spirit continues to lead me, I am hungry for the fullness of Gods truth, a fullness of the relationship He wants with me. I’m his daughter, he is Abba, Yeshua my Lord,! King and Savior, brother, friend. I am willing, here I am Lord, send me!

Above all the realms of calamity, judgement or tribulational events noted in the Bible, I would say that Matt 7:23 is by far, one that enstills more horror than any. Imagine the one and only Savior and Redeemer saying to you "I never knew you"; that is the most devastating thing imaginable. For one who can hardly say he's out there doing the Lord's work, it is a very concerning verse of the Bible that has salvation-based implications. So true about the priest, there is but ONE Redeemer, Lord, and King, He is the ONLY High Priest we ever needed, and once fully Redeemed and made anew, one gains open access to God, just in the manner as Adam and Eve dealt with Him openly in the garden before the fall.

Yes! It is impossible to fully understand the Revelation without understanding the Hebrew Scriptures on which it is based and the Hebraic perspective from which it was written.

Brother, I love you guys intensely, and love the work you're doing! (After 19:02) I hope this will give you some help on understanding people's criticism that you're "not local-church enough". The college I attended was strongly local-church, and taught us several places throughout the New Testament which established/confirmed this teaching. However, that was 40 years ago but (without going through the New Testament to try to find all of those) I do recall that Paul's practice of visiting cities and establishing local churches with local leaders (and not geographical or ecclesiastical hierarchies) is strong compelling evidence of a "local church" doctrine. Glaringly, Paul also gave no admonition to obey some geographical hierarchical leaders or ecclesiastical hierarchical leaders; nor did he teach that he himself was a hierarchical or ecclesiastical leader over the churches; nor did he claim to be in a post or position that would one day be filled with a different person whom they were to obey. It is absolutely glaringly clear that that neither Jesus nor Paul dictated or established any other entity (besides local churches) to fulfill Jesus mission. Consequently, Christian ministries whose missions include organizational (versus "individual") evangelization, or any other functions, activities, etc. which were delegated (in the NT) to churches, are outside the system Jesus established to fulfill His mission. (I, myself, was once employed by such an organization, AMG International) In my humble opinion, the proper resolution is to move such organizations under the organizational authority of a local church.

I just heard you say "Merry Christmas everyone." Does this ministry keep the December 25th Christmas for the birth of Yeshua? Which leads me to ask if you celebrate Passover, or the Spring Equinox Easter for Yeshua's death and resurrection.

I realize this session came out a year ago but I’m left as frustrated as you sound to me. I’m left wondering is there a church today that our Lord approves of. Maybe I should listen to this session again because I certainly don’t want to stop listening and or studying with these sessions. I appreciate the teachings from Dalton and Joel and am so happy they are tackling the Book of Revelation. However, I do disagree that the letters to the 7 churches apply only to the 7 churches as they were at the time John wrote this book. I believe that may be the main reason they were written, but believe these letters are meant for the individual churches throughout the church age as well. It applies to ALL churches from the time of the ascention of Christ to today. Furthermore, I believe as members of the church of Christ these letters also apply to ALL believers personally. One of the beauties of God's word is that you can read a scripture and see how it applies yet read it again 5 years later when your situation has changed and you get a new understanding.

More about the "non-biblical" local church. It is set up as a lecture, by a pastor. The pagan temples used to have two podiums. They removed one. Pastors are not foundational. Apostles and prophets are. So, there shouldn't be too many people to sit in a circular arrangement. All should participate as the Spirit gives. It's not complicated. It's in the Bible. Dalton, how do you respond to those who do not understand that you celebrate what so many believers don't anymore, like Christmas. (You mentioned a week off to celebrate it and you wished us 'Merry Christmas' at the opening.) Because of its pagan origins it took until the 1800's before Christmas was even allowed to be celebrated in America. Do you also celebrate Easter and Halloween? I really hope you'll reply to this comment. I'm not being hateful about it, I just don't understand the incongruency of being Set Apart yet involving oneself in pagan things.

Don’t you think it’s presumptuous to say that all churche leaders depending on funding from their parishioners will be corrupted by that dependence. There is a verse in the Bible that says don’t muzzle an ox when it is treading grain and I think this is directly referring to those teachers and preachers who are dependent on tithes. The way I see it is that whoever is called by God whether they depend on tithes or not will be faithful in delivering his message. Those that are not really called will not. So this is a matter of spiritual discernment and I don’t think you can make blanket statements. After all it is God and not man who provides.

There is no Biblical trinity mystery. Trinity, unitary and oneness is not found in the Scriptures. I did not know that FAI Ministry celebrates Christmas.

Are you aware of the fact that God divorced The House of Israel, dispersed them around the world, and are now known as the Lost Sheep, and the mystery for some believers is how will he save the part of his Bride that is now been divorced? The House of Judah also played the harlot but returned to their beliefs where The House of Israel is still scattered and lost because they refuse to return and lost their identity in the process of being a harlot. Dear Watchman. I agree. But I believe the biggest weapon Satan has used in the Body of Christ is creating Syncretic beliefs. Thus Yahweh (God) warns and is telling us (believers) to come out of Babylon Rev 18:4(Syncretic beliefs are mixture of truth and the coming pagan religions even today's mainstream Christianity and Judaism) back to the Torah=Instructions. We condemning our religions for being in error but fail to see that judgement begins with the house of Yah says Scriptures. They will be given a chance to receive the truth in the second resurrection but probably we will not.

Remember this: if you forget. all else, believe me, the book of Revelation was written in 65a.d. That turns the revelation on its head!!!! That is a good thing!!!! The a.d.95 date is far to late to square up the prophetic events in their proper historical order. If you see this revelation with a.d. 95 spectacles your already screwed!!!! A launch out into history hundreds of yrs. into the future is exactly what you don't want to do. I repeat , the book of revelation was written in a.d.65. Check out Flavius Josephus as he chronicles the book of revelation in context: this is all 1st century stuff!!! However the 2nd coming will not happen till the end of our current history. Full Preterism is a complete heresy!!!!
