Why they didn’t mention The Emerald Tablets by Thoth?

There was the passage in here "how can one book cover so many different interpretations." The Quran has many different interpretations. And the best description of the Christian Bible I've ever heard is "31 flavors of Jesus." I believe any writings that ask the reader to look into themselves is going to have exponential amount of interpretations. No person sees themselves as others see them and vice versa.

Whenever Crowley is discussed, with the spin that his Thelemic motto is permissive, they alway quote half the motto; out of context. Do what thou will shall be the whole of the law, should always be read with 'Love is the law, love under will.' To leave the second part of the motto unsaid is deceptive and intended to spin the story. Crowley is saying yes, do what you want, as long as it is done with love as part of your karmic journey through this life. A totally different meaning and quite wholesome, not at all the permissive resolve to pander to basic instinct. To know Crowley never accept anyone else's argument, read his writing yourself. You'll find no satanism, no child sacrifice, he leaves all that to mainstream religion. His work exalts us to independent thinking, to divine human experience and to love above all else.

Humanity is and was always powerful. Humanity has many ways to be powerful. We do not require secret ceremony’s, we are enough as we are, wherever we are.

I feel like the beginning of this hooked me into the idea that the Book of Hermes was a translation of the book of Thoth. With no real historical evidence. Went down a rabbit hole and came out with a complete disconnection from the beginning hook or idea. I feel manipulated!

This was less about the books of Thoth and more about highlighting the history of European interpretations, much like most of history. The tarot cards with European faces in egyptian headdress summed this up pretty well, was good for a laugh though.

His teaching came from the land of Kemet, and the dates put Thot in the era of Kemetic since because he was one of the gods of Kemet. Its amazing how the information in the original tablets contain the accuracy of this information but its almost like its bieg erased from history. Its important to know why Kemet was changed to Egypt and how it shows how so far advanced this culture was. That the science we know of today did not come from Egypt it all came from Kemet.

'Book of Thoth' as an indication of wisdom baked into mankind, from within, as a universal truth which can be discovered. It is written in a communication style to reflect what more or less happens when the eternal soul awakens in someone, like an internal dialogue which makes complete sense for who in oneself enters into it. Hence, it's called Hermetic. Rosicruciansindicate something similar with 'the book M' and 'the book T' ...which in short, means book of the world and book of the Devine, pointing at the universal wisdom of relationship between both... There's plenty of scholars having analyzed related old books. Don't take my word for it, I only stumbled across this myself... see for example bibliotheca philosophica hermetica or embassyofthefreemind and similar. One hypothesis, for example, goes as far as saying that even if all old books and papyries got lost, the experience humans can go through could simply reconstruct all of it from scratch... Crowley claimed the deity who dictated the Book of the Law to him was Horus, not Thoth. His tarot contains his own philosophy of the religion he founded which is called Thelema. It is therefore not pure Tarot.

If the Vatican is in possession of the original Book of Thoth they could know exactly how to lead people down the garden path as they did with the texts of the bible.

I didn't hear anything about the Emerald Tablets. I thought that was the source. It's indestructible, been around for thousands of years, no one knows how it defies physics, etc. I thought that was an integral part of the story.

Second the video was good but should have included the idea that the Kabbalah is similar or may have come from Egyptian hermetics. There wasn’t one mention of Jewish mysticism.
