Mc Ronalds i mean yeah but like lets say you’re having a birthday party and your friend goes over how said party is big waste of natural resources and is actually endangering the environment slowly, and how you ingesting such unhealthy foods could lead you to get diabetes and die before you even hit 30, and how the whole point of putting significance on the day you were born was created by companies to make more money and bank off a thing literally everything, and the fact that since time is a manmade concept your birthday is very much irrelevant and just a figment of what man created Or when you decide to have a baby with your significant other he brings up how most relationships end in failure and a baby won’t fix that and rhe fact that the odds of even having a normal breathing baby are so rare there’s ultimately know point in even getting one in the first place due to how underprepared you are While all or most of what i said is technically true that would just get annoying at your own party wouldn’t? Have you ever met someone who is only negative, nihilistic and cynical towards literally everything before? Even if they’re right they just become a bummer and know how to take the fun out of everything
You've never lived without pain, and that doesn't mean you need to embrace it. Just acknowledge it's there to make you a better you when applied correctly. Does your heart beat more comfortably for running an extra mile? Think about it.
I know this show is meant for comedy but scenes like this one make me wish they made the series a more serious in depth character development seems like the missed a big opportunity by letting these intriguing scenes die off
whatever you mean by full blown anime? Anime is a style of drawing in itself but not the content of the animation. But if you are referring to capturing the essence of JAP Animation, then perhaps this show is not for you. This shows discusses the Urban truth in America setting itself aside from your typical Japanese animation thereby speaking directly to the intended audience (mostly the black community) in a way almost only them understand the mannerisms, comedic themes displayed by the characters. Personally I think they did this job perfectly and so do many others, with the exception of season 4. You guys that complain about how it should be done just because you are use to watching anime are in the minority, But at the end of the day thats your opinion and I respect that. Peace.
@@sekani9761 If that is ruining someones joy, then they are still a killjoy. That behaviour also can ruin any type of creativity that child could have had at a young age.
Truth-Rationale Scientist His family has a political background dating since at least his grandfather Robert who is something of a Civil Rights legend, and Robert raised one of Huey's parents with that outlook. Huey caught on it and developed it even further. The question should be why Riley is almost the opposite, being so buffoonish and apolitical instead of an intellectual like his brother.
I love that although Huey is young, smart, passionate, and observant he's also paranoid, overly zealous about himself, pretentious, and... well young! He may be mature, but like a kid he just doesn't understand how to cope with it or fully direct it well. He's flawed. That's what makes him enjoyable. Someone else in the comments talked about how Huey has the potential to advance the minds of society, or force his own way of thinking onto others. I think Huey is a very creative look at African American Millenials, especially relevant today with how BLM has a respectable cause but a VERY poor way at expressing it. I'd go as far as to say that all the Freemans' represent a different perspective of how every generation views black community and to an extent American culture itself. Grand dad is the OG that hustled his entire life. Huey is the voice of change struggling with his own pessimistic outlook at everything. And Riley is the rambunctious and optimistic younger generations. This show is fantastic but it could have been so much more. I think if any show were to benefit from coming back, it would be this show.
Blm supporters have good intentions but they are being exploited. One of the three founders assata shakur is wanted by the fbi and is a convicted cop killer. She didn’t start this movement to help anyone but herself. And it’s her terrible influence that lead to so many supporters falling astray.
I don't think Huey can really be blamed for making Jasmine cry. If her parents hadn't lied to her about the tooth fairy in the first place; there would have been no illusion to shatter.
+Quinntus79 Yea, right, she cried about the Tooth Fairy not being real. You know, not the fact that Huey told her that her parents and everyone she loves is going to die a death most painful. Yea, the problem was that the fucking Tooth Fairy doesn't exist. That's what made her sad. Totally understandable.
+The Drunken Coward i realized my mortality when i was like 5. i cried for like a minute, then got over it. if she's 10 and still living in candy unicorn land it's not huey's fault.
Arcane Ender When I was younger (despite being raised in a Christan house hold) I thought people would be come one with the Earth again. Their bodies would sleep forever underground and they just become part of the Earth. I did accept death pretty easily though due to close family dieing and having to attend their funerals and all. But it took until the second or third one for me to understand and that's because that was when I lost a Younger family member who wasn't even over the age of 3 at that time.
Its a shame that agent was never brought back in future episodes. Wouldn't it be kinda scary if the government secretly sent agents out to watch and protect young children who were truly gifted intellectually and ensured their path in life or did everything in their power to keep that person from destroying the system people of old fought to create? Would be interesting.
I don't know if I want to live in a society where you don't get ostracized for roofie raping... No matter how rich the person is, it just feels like it should be more than a slap on the wrist sort of thing. "One negative thing" would be some wrong-doing without victims.
Kemo_Meme I agree. I'd still watch the Cosby Show anytime I catch it on TV because I love the sitcom. Maybe that pays the man royalties but ideally he still does time for his crimes. I wonder if they will just delay sentencing long enough for him to die or disappear? Even if he does serve time it is going to be in some nice white collar prison. Well, at least everyone can feel good about the guilty verdict...
It would be, if it was one negative thing. Also, career and life are different. Plenty of people hate Cosby as a person but still acknowledge the timeless greatness of the Cosby Show
@Steven R Try telling that to Pokemon fans whenever they say that they ship Ash Ketchem, a 10 year old kid, with any of his equally aged female traveling companions, lol.
King Namor 777 Not to mention all the fanfics dedicated to the two that can be found online. It’s insane 😖! This is why shipping is a toxic disease in fandom, lol.
I once told my brother all of us would die before him since he was the youngest in the family and that he would be all alone. He cried and I never felt so bad through the rest of my childhood...except that one time I hit him with the baseball bat... Kids hurt other kids. Huey is still a good kid though.
no he isn't. Huey is still a piece of shit for being such an asshole. He's done things like this multiple times. He fired all the kids for the christmas play, cuz he didnt care about making them happy, he only cared about making himself happy
@@dogsdreamtoo8427 Huey is a bit of a control freak, so those kids who weren't taking the Christmas play seriously, like he did were fired, because as we all know...Huey likes to take himself very seriously.
People like Huey go in only one of two ways. They either advance the minds of society, or try to reform it to their own way of thinking. There is no middle ground and they don't just fade away. A guy like the white shadow is there to see which choice Huey would make in the future, will be advance the world around him and serve a benefit, or will he try to force others to follow his way of thinking and become the next Hitler
@@Netherwolf6100 Thank you! Well fucking said, I think people view Huey too much as a perfect character when the very cool thing is that he's just as flawed as other characters.
I call it the three wise men knowledge. They know every now and then..the stars align and a being is born who can threaten the infrastructure. A being who sees through the illusions of life..they are not hiveminded. So they shadow them. To make sure they.. "stay in line". Every book, story, religion... They all have this Messianic message. They all die to. So.. idk.. 🌱✌️
Huey has suffered through some traumatic experiences (his parents' death for example) so he's more aware of what's going on, which can make him depressed, cynical, paranoid, etc. Jazmine has a more normal, if not sheltered childhood since she is Tom's daughter. So she's more naive, like your average 10 year old.
@dspprince It's from Season 1, titled, "The Real". Huey believes he is under surveillance by a shadowy government agent. From the DVD set, it is on Disc 2, Episode 8.
@@windandfireproductions5358 no he wouldn't each Akatsuki member are very superhuman and they have insane abilities The Boondocks universe is just too grounded for anybody to be around their level.
"she needed to know anyways" no she didn't she is a child she will learn In time what life is about but you don't need to force something like that onto a child. What exactly what sick pleasure do you gain from trying to destroy the hopes and crush the innocence of children? I'm all for one about teaching children education but that is just some sick twisted crap that does not need be told. Let children be children
No they're not. I'd recommend you watch "Misunderstanding Sensitivity" by The Storyteller on RU-vid, he has a great series which analyzes black media, and some great Boondocks vids.
These comments are so sad. Yes what he did was horrible and there is no excuse but I HATE the fact that now the same people, especially black people who are benefiting from all he did to help the black community, deny what he did to lift us up in this racist country
Dang Huey!! Even though you speak the truth doesn't mean you can throw all of it out on cute little Jasmine. That girl was innocent and she wasn't raised right.
Huey is deep. I can tell Huey and Jasmine like each other. I imagine Huey goes off to an Ivy league school, earns his Ph.D in political science, marries Jasmine and becomes another Noam Chomsky. Huey becomes a public intellectual, a professor, publishes several books. Jasmine his wife becomes an activist.
Eric Handley Well, in the comic strip and implied on the show, Jazmine is shown to be an activist for animal rights. Much like with how Huey was labeled as a domestic terrorist, I can see Jazmine being labeled as an eco terrorist, lol.
