@@BlackGoId I think what this episode is arguing is that the shackles were never all the way removed. MLK was still fighting for another whole 5 years after the last civil rights acts before he was murdered. There’s still so much to be fixed in the black community and in America in general.

They leave out the reverend part for 2 reasons: 1. Dr is a higher title, it's why he's also never referred to as mr. King. 2. His PhD is in systematic theology which means he's literally a dr of preaching so it's redundant to say reverend. As for being a great man I disagree with that statement.
