Great movie my favorite performance by James Woods next to Against All Odds one of the best movies out there to show the devastating effects drugs can have on a person's life great performances.

The best drug addiction movie of the 1980s. Scary but true. Nothing beats a "boost".

I always liked the character who introduces Lenny to drugs. Yes, he is a sleazeball, but deep down he cares for Lenny. He just can't understand how he can handle the drugs, and Lenny just can't.

Ah, those were good, too! Haven't watched all of Midnight Cowboy. But Requiem... What a blast :). Still, there's something about this one whose impact, in my humble opinion, remains to be bested. No wonder it was critically panned by several critics save for the late Roger Ebert. What a movie. Peace!

I remember when Siskel and Ebert reviewed this film, Siskel thought it was overwrought melodrama and Ebert said it was a powerhouse performance by James Woods, going so far as to give it 4 stars. Unfortunately, I'm in agreement with Siskel. Woods is terrific as always, he never gives a bad performance, but the movie stinks. It's like Harold Becker decided to make fun of the anti-drug movement by making everything very over-the-top and ridiculous.
@ricardocantoral7672
@ricardocantoral7672 Год назад
In my opinion, any shortcomings of this film are generously compensated by Woods' alarming performance. There are moments in the film that are simply painful to watch and by the end, it's the equivalent of Hiroshima after the bomb.

I just saw it for the first time in years. All I have to say is, wow. This movie becomes more and more uncomfortable to watch as it goes on. You are watching a human being erode, chipping away at his soul until there is nothing left but a babbling wreck.
