Hiya!!! I’m pleased you enjoyed seeing the birds yesterday!! Was particularly good to see the young hen take some nesting material from you to line her nest!!
Thank you so much for sharing your birds, I live in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales on my family farm, I feed many wild birds in my garden and take care of any sick ones, that come along, Birds are such beautiful creatures. I go through 20kg of wild bird seed a week! Lots of feathery babies xx
Hi Mary. Thank you for your message; what a lovely place to live - the Yorkshire Dales!! I’m sure you must get many birds to your garden and get a lot of enjoyment watching them. 👍👍
Nice to see some Borders. My Dad used to breed them 40 years ago. I can't believe they've almost disappeared since then. Sadly they seem to have got bigger than I remember (maybe wrong) but good to see. Nick
Hey Nick. Nice to hear about your dad - you’re not thinking about starting up with Borders are you?! They will have got bigger compared to the birds you remember 40 years ago for sure
@@bordercorner HI Andy. I started it all when I was 14/15. I went to a local breeder and asked him if he had a pair of borders I could buy (with birthday money) he was a great guy and sold me two pairs for the same price ( well sold me 1 and gave me another one) I got them home put them in the cages that Dad had built and he said ... "I like those" and promptly took them off me 😂 and I ended up with Glosters, Norwich and British. So I'm afraid it would be the last 3 I'd got to but still love to see Borders as I spent as much time with those (with Dad) as with my own. I'm planning of maybe getting a few to scratch the itch from years ago Nick
@@Olafjabberwocky Yeah - go for it mate!! We need more men in Borders!! Numbers have fallen over the last few years and we need to get more back into Borders. The size of the novice classes at shows is getting smaller and smaller as winners are moving up to Champion and I want to try and promote Borders through my channel!
