Why is the ex boyfriend, who wouldn't marry her because of his family's opinion of *her* broken family (who, from the looks of things, still managed to raise her right to be strong, independent, rational, high achieving, educated, confident, a diligent worker and to stand up for and speak for herself). Why is he even a part of this conversation? How can the current boyfriend, potential husband, not feel like he's under a microscope as it is, but with that guy there degrading and insulting him as if he's the girlfriend's sibling is just inappropriate. If he's such an expert on their daughter, why didn't he stand up to his own family and marry her? If memory serves me right, he's no prize either: he's a serial cheater who promises the world and delivers nothing: he's a freeloader and a moocher. He has zero reason to be part of this conversation and judge another man concerning any kind of relationship, another man's perceived/fabricated weaknesses and shortcomings: he should be looking in a mirror and evaluating himself.
Obviously neither her family nor the guy knew she broke up with him cause his family, that's the whole point of them being silent, so chill man.
