Very true, I just like to point out on the 3 players used in the video because they were the 3 very next picks after Boston! 2015 was an extremely deep draft!
Yes, DeBrusk has been a decent roster player, and there definitely is time for these players to change our minds, but it's still fun to poke fun at another teams' mistakes :)
Yeah, no. Zach Senyshyn? Absolute bust, no question. Jakub Zboril? eh, hard to tell. We haven't gotten to see enough of him due to him being injury prone. Jake DeBrusk? Nope. You're just wrong about that one. 92 goals and 84 assists over 321 games. That's around a point every 2 games. The guy is a great player. Were the players that went after them that did better? Absolutely, they would've made great choices. But you wanna know why shit like this is difficult? Because Clairvoyance isn't a thing. Nobody knows how well somebody is gonna do in their career. Prime example:Nail Yakupov. Another prime example: Cale Makar. It isn't possible to fully determine how well somebody is gonna do. Players have different careers under different coaches, just look at Cole Caufield. Calling Jake DeBrusk a bust because of who he was paired with in that draft is bullshit. FFS, him, Pastrnak, McAvoy, and Swayman are going to be the Bruins future. I just sound like a biased Bruins fan, but if you actually read my statements and comprehend my narrative, you'll understand your lack of judgment.
Thank you for your comment, Andrew! I would like to point out that in the video, I did agree with you by saying Jake DeBrusk is a good NHL player. Don't take the thumbnail too serious as it's just used for impression! I agree with you on the whole clairvoyance thing, which is why I choose to do these videos inside of a video game; where nothing really matters and it's done for the sake of entertainment! I could do this exact same simulation 10 more times, and get 10 more different outcomes. I agree with you that everything is situational and it really is hard to draft perfectly when these players are at such a young age and no one knows how their career will pan out, as an avid hockey fan however, it's simply just fun to explore the options of "what if?"
