I remember how weird it was when I first realized, I had to be 16 or 17, that the people responsible for so much tragedy and who did such gruesome things, were loving fathers and mothers at the same time. It's easier to portray all Nazis as demons than to accept that they were humans as well. They could kiss their children goodnight, read them stories and play with them, while also helping to mass murder those who they thought were worth less.

Nazus didn't see anyone as people apart from German white people Yes, I read somewhere that Germans also hated Slavs (Eastern European white people) and because Hitler couldn't invade Britain at all. He started to resent the British and was planning to one day make British men slaves to the German people and make the British women sex slaves or something I don't know if this is entirely true as you can't believe everything you read online but i could see Hitler actually thinking that. When he wasn't bombing Britian nonstop The hate of slavs are true though. That's been documented everywhere regarding Hitler and nazi Germany

I watched this movie when I was 7 and at the time didn’t realize what was happening in the movie. All I thought was why didn’t the parents allow the boy to play with the other kids, why they were separated, why the dad was so secretive and mean. But when I thought about the movie when I grew older I re watched it when I was 13 and saw what was actually happening and I cried so hard. I still can’t believe that this happened in history. I still get goosebumps when I think that Nazi’s back then were also parents were able to be so loving with there family but the next day to horrific and gruesome acts. When you you watch the movie when your young and rewatch it when you grow older it really changes your perspective of the world and how we used to be and how we are today.

Thinking a concentration camp is a "farm", and it's prisoners "farmers", mistaking their uniforms for "pajamas", mispronouncing "Führer" as "fury", and just wanting to play with any children he can find, really hits you on the head that Bruno's just a normal, sweet-natured kid who was way in over his head. T_T I read this book in class when I was in the 7th grade, and I found the movie right afterwards on RU-vid. Obviously, I cried my eyes out over both. Back then, I was very much into Vocaloid, and all I could think of was Len Kagamine's "Prisoner" and Rin Kagamine's "Paper Plane" songs. Both are heavily based off of this story, and I'll leave things at that...

The point of this movie was to show the audience the view. They made you attracted to particular characters (in this case, the boy) and then show what happened to Jewish people. The director wanted you to know that anyone could have experienced what they had and how you were no different.

The movie is heart breaking but when the fact that these are actual historical events sets in, it just makes you want to retract into your own body and cry for all eternity because no matter what you do, you'll never be able to right this horrible wrong. You'll never be able to expunge this scourge in the history of the human race. We did this to our own kind...💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔We treated other human beings like this.
@dianajusselin3298

I have seen this movie many times. I have to have the right of mind and the heart to watch it again. The reason I watch this movie is that I don't forget what really happened back then. I'm affected for a long time. However, for those who lived it never, it is over. Nightmares are one thing theirs is night terrors. I know if something very wrong has happened in life that you are doomed to repeat it if it is forgotten or denied it ever happened. So I speak for all those who need them to remember for our sakes and for them. God Bless to all who have survived the worst of all of the atrocities humankind has ever known.

Bruno was only seven or eight and literally no understanding of what is happening in the world around him. He integrated really well with Shmuel who was also seven or eight years old too just like all children and I think children do integrate really well because they are children and have no understanding of the world and things like that do get a bit complicated and a bit difficult.
