The best moment of the episode is when The Deep is watching the hearing and watching all the heads explode then thinking he's still important enough to be targeted and getting scared. I laughed so hard
I’ve noticed people in the comments using that as a reason that maybe the Church was involved. You’re perspective of it seems more accurate; although I’m not saying the Church wasn’t involved.
Digonto Zahid I mean it’s unlikely they’d toss away his comic character & heavily reduce it like that. Just makes no sense. They gave several characters more depth than just a poor old sob fucked by Homelander & Vought that it’d make no sense to make Black Noir nothing
Digonto Zahid but he plays a important role in the comics and im not understanding why tv differs so much from the comics, arent they supposed to follow it?
@@mcld4214 no you don't have to copy and paste the plot. And really, you shouldn't. TV adaptations have to 1. Tell a comic/book's story in a completely different form of media. So some plot points may not work out well or some story telling devices may not work well in TV like they do in a comic. It's called an adaptation for a reason. 2. Most people who have read source material of an adaptation don't want to see the exact same thing on camera. Even authors who have directed and controlled their movies/tv adaptations will often times change plot points and offer alternate scenarios. It keeps things fresh and interesting while also telling a similar story I suppose.
Bokushingu's Kendo TV yo wait that makes a lot of sense the collective is doing that and when people are going against the church or whatever they kill them and they all work for vaught?
The “glowing blue eyes” of the store clerk wasn’t a subjective look inside the shooter’s mind... it was a light shining in the window. You can see it flash on the wall behind him at the same time. It was just sunlight reflecting off a car window or something, and it happened to refract in the store clerks eyes for a second, making it look like they were glowing.
I think Black Noir is related to Edgar. Possibly his son. I dont think Edgar is above injecting his own son with compound V and he was the only hero we've seen in direct contact with Edgar besides homelander
...Lamplighter *did* help Hughie. If he had all this background knowledge of how the building functions, it isn't a stretch to believe he *knew* the holding cell would be disabled in the event of an emergency...
It wasn't disabled though? Did he know that starlight would get enough juice from the emergency light or something? That's a stretch, he just wanted to die.
Do you think The Deep showed the church the Go Pro Footage. They would have dirt on Queen Maeve and Homelander. From how The Deep tells them everything it would be entirely possible. Maybe that's why they take the meeting?
I think the Fresca is the delivery method rather than something that makes you immune, and there's some kind of nano-explosive that can be triggered by a certain localised signal. That shot of the Deep touching his head is him realising this. And Shockwave dying is definitely a sign the Collective is involved. There was also a plot like this in the comics, although I think it was a modified version of compound V that could be triggered to pop heads, but this isn't far off.
I think Homelander is gonna end up killing Ryan, as a callout to the baby eating scene from the comics, and drive Becca to go back to Butcher and help him take on Homelander. Just a theory tho.
I wonder if Dr. Vought, also used the formula on himself and has been disguising himself as Stan Edgar? Also, is it possible Black Noir could be Butcher's brother, Lenny, who they thought committed suicide?
When lam lighter said make his dad proud I thought we was gonna burn the whole tower since he talked about burning the house down when he was 4. Obviously that didn’t happens but still didn’t except that
Stan Edgar is the Head Popper/Telepathic. That's why he isn't scared of anyone including Homelander. He doesn't have to be present to do this if he can see the individual through a live feed.
My personal theory for the popping heads is Black Noir. Mainly because all the jump scares this episode was by him and maybe he have some other powers that we have yet to explore. Plus if the attack was aimed towards the supes it would start with a supe, but since it started with the ppl putting vaught down, maybe Edgar called the attack.
The shooting of the innocent Shopkeeper in the Cheek looked like it was a mild mild reference to shooting Gale Botteicher in the Breaking Bad series, you know both are innocent people who tell the killer to take all the money he wants , but the killer is very unstable and is emotionally too disturbed to take a decision.
You know that feeling when you call a plot twist that's super ridiculous but a little obvious at the same time? I had that with the court-room scene. It was more of a "everything seems like it's going well so something bad's gonna happen" but then i kinda thought "I mean what if Cindy just appeared randomly and heads started popping?" and then... that happened
14:17 I thought that tidbit would be missed out, but there it is. What I read is that Karl Urban suggested the showrunners to include that in the writing, where Black Noir's weakness is his tree nut allergy.
I'm about 95% sure the head popper is not Cindy, but has some connection to the Church of the Collective, if it's not Alistair himself. What made me so sure was Shockwave dying. With A-Train seeming to have joined the Church, and them working to get The Deep back into The Seven, it would make sense for A-Train's replacement to get caught up in the wanton destruction. Cindy feels like a red herring, and with all the time that's been devoted to the Church this season, it feels like a case of Chekov's Gun. Maybe the Church and Vought are working together, maybe Alistair is trying to hijack Vought's coup attempt to establish a supe-based theocracy.
My theory is that Black Noir is a clone of a young superpowered Stan Edgar... or maybe Stan himself is using compound V to become temporarily younger and superpowered posing as Black Noir the entire time to keep a watch on the Team without being seen
I feel like there's information to be mined about the head explosions. The very first kill in like episode 3 felt targeted and only after the victim agreed to help the boys. It also was set up in such a way to suggest line of sight is required. Likewise, in ep 7 the kills seem to be line of sight, especially with that big window--but also random? My first instinct was the other deaths were a cover for the killing of the witness, including shockwave. Clearly this killer has a lot of Intel. Clearly they are aligned generally with the supes? And I'm going to say the supes do not know about it. I remember some kinda tech weapon in the comics in the Russian issues, so we can't say the killer is a supe for sure. I'd assume it was a black noir but we've seen him use lethal force before.
I think it's the church. Alistair said that he talked with Edgar about getting A-Train and Deep back in the 7. So this could be Alistair doing a favor to Edgar in order to fulfill his goal of getting them back in the 7
I think either its the church of the collective behind the head exploding: because they killed Shockwave, i feel like this is a way to get Atrain back in and since starlight is gone, the Deep can come back so they have a lot to gain. The other one is Stan: again this is basically erasing Homelander's changes since he added Shockwave and saving Vought
16:29- My guess is that their body is so strong that you could not just explode them from inside like that. That's why they don't fear dying like that, you can't just kill them that way.
Or it goes the way they went with luke cage...body is so strong, inflammation in the skull and stuff would be practically untreatable. I think they just have never found anything that can hurt them, so they don't think they can be hurt. It's not that they know they can't be killed that way, they just think that is true.
Think Ryan may become a more uncontrollable threat than Homelander, a supe kid who's angry and lashes out at everyone for lying, paving way for a Homelander Butcher team up.
What about the scene discussing homelander child hood. That was very interesting. Especially with the discussion about manifest destiny. That blew over everyone's head
I might be mis-remembering but I think there was a plotline in the comics where Butcher gets ahold of some altered compound V that lets him explode like a few hundred supes' heads at once. It was during the arc with Love Sausage I think. The hearing scene reminded me of that
I think lamplighter knew the security at the tower was shit and setting himself on fire would release starlight from the containment rooms. he did it as a f you to fought and as a f you to himself.
I could see Black Noir being a clone of Stand Edgar to keep Homelander in check. Notice how Stan is constantly trying to keep Homelander in check and Stan is obviously not scared of Homelander because he has Black Noir by his side and can immediately contact him
Did nobody notice that homelander might me mind controled at one point. When he s giving a speech in a preview as camera was zooming into his eyes he looks like he s being controled.
10:36 "Missable Detail #3" - It looks like a Terminator perspective. The Red color, the Font used for 'Target Aquired' as well as the text in the upper left corner...
I watched that last scene before bed and then proceeded to have a nightmare where I ran around holding my head hoping it didn’t explode and let me tell ya... there’s nothing scarier than heads spontaneously combusting BECAUSE U HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO STOP IT
Imma call it now, the leader of the cult has the head explody powers and he did this to garner favor with vot and get aqua dork and a train back on the 7 and himself onto the vot board
I've been saying this since Friday but noir can STILL be a homelander clone but hey anyone remember BIZARRO? Skin was discolored and veiny much like how bizarros face looks in the comics
I felt like there were a few references to the comic that were kindve avoided earlier on 1.Jack from Jupiter getting plowed in a sextape 2.Lamplighter hinting that he would go to the sub levels of the tower 3.Maeve getting doubled teamed by male models
Just to mention- because of Lamplighter's self-emulation, the emergency lights came on, giving Starlight the power sheets needed to escape. A secondary plan? Certainly not coincidence.
