"The Boys: Mexico" was officially announced in late November 2023. Gen V Season 2 is coming, no Dates has been Confirmed as of right now, but might come sometime next year. There are also talks about doing other Spin-Off stories, but no confirmation about any of that as of right now..
The reason butcher just went full Kessler was due to Ryan being his last hope for humanity and when he saw Ryan kill Mallory (someone Ryan loved) he lost all his faith in humanity and decided to do it himself, next season is about to be mental
I will say Ashley honestly made the best choice. If she didn’t take the V, she’s dead. If she did take the V and got bad powers/died who cares they’d probably kill her. If she takes the V and has decently useful powers she can “join” Homelander and atleast stay alive
This season truly hates Hughie. The only win he gets is not getting in trouble for sleeping with someone else when he didn’t even know it was someone else.
I think they may be putting him through the wringer, making him make hard choices like with his dad, or making him motivate the group like convince the boys to help neuman, because they’re setting him up to be the new and final leader of the boys

@@MitchellFace Personally, I see this as the opposite. I loved Hughie this season. Basically Hughie's whole arc this season is knowing when to let go, of love or hate. Because of Neuman's death shown here just helped The Supes (and was literally Sage's plan) , Its clear Hughie's plan was the better outcome. What caused it to failed was the old generation (AKA butcher) who where unable to accept it and move forward. Butcher's biggest failing has always been how he's been stuck in the past, and this season just proved it may be his fatal flaw. Season 5 is likely to be a total mess of violence between Butcher and Homelander, but It's likely both are gonna end up failing, possibly dying, in the end. Hughie has taken more and more of a leadership or at the very least, guiding role when it comes to the boys, and my money is season 5 ending with Hughie probably being in the best position out of all the boys.
@@darkshadow5581 I agree, it’s a good arc but do we need to see him cake fart and get sexually assaulted multiple times while also having to euthanize his dad. The happiest he has ever been with Annie was when she wasn’t Annie. How messed up do you think his head is after that? Like I’m glad she forgave him real quick and all that, that’s messed up regardless. There are just a lot of certain things that did not need to happen or be shown to get this same arc across.
I really can’t get over Hughies character development this season. This man became the strongest character in this show in my opinion. Killing in self defense? He took it in stride. Being able to forgive A-Train? Takes a lot to truly move on from something like that. Having to put your father down after he goes on a murder rampage? This one got to him but he still maybe only showed 1 minute of weakness and that’s after being assaulted and almost murdered again. And finally his 10 day horror movie where a skin walker took his girlfriend, impersonated her and graped him many times then tried to kill him. Alllll of that only for his resolved to be a good person strengthened at the end. Idk if it makes sense for his character to be this stoic but it’s impressive
I appreciate that after Starlight initially vented her anger and frustration, she did reassure Huey they were still together and it wasnt going to ruin their relationship.
I was so concerned that she was gonna pile on Hughie for "Cheating on her" while in actuality he was raped by a stranger pretending to be her. Im glad that didnt happen, since it would've made her irredeemably unlikeable in my eyes
@@captainbirch2.079Yea, one outburst after being tortured for 10 days and then killing someone, is fair, not nice by any means, but it’s something I can overlook, and Hughie’s a good man so he can too haha
It baffles me that people are more pissed at Annie when the way Hughie responded to finding out that he was having sex with a fake for 10 days was so much more upsetting. He didn't act like a victim of SA, but as a boyfriend who got caught cheating, and then is happy that his girlfriend forgave him. And that's because the writers don't believe that male rape is real. There's no real seriousness to this situation, and instead it's treated as a sitcom scenario making both characters look like assholes. How eventful the rest of the episode was is gonna make people not realize this, but to me this is some of the most deplorable writing I've seen since GoT season 8.

How is no one else freaking out about Kimiko speaking?! I know eventually it was gonna happen but it took me a few seconds to even clock it and be like “Wait! She’s speaking!”
I didn’t notice on my first watch either. I think they needed to make it the focal point of a scene if they wanted it to make an impact, rather than having it be drowned out by Heart-Shaped Box. It’s such a natural action for someone to yell out in that situation that it’s easy to miss without thinking.

People seem to have forgotten that Sage was the one that mentioned to Firecracker about Homelander’s breast milk obsession and now she’s sick from the meds. Plus, she also said that she was smart enough to cure any disease if she wanted.
@anjiharrell6175 I almost wonder if it isn't a more commonly known secret. Sage knew that Stillwell was part of that obsession, even with genius intellect, she must have had some hint. I feel some people probably know, either through the Stillwell stuff or because he was getting milk from somewhere else before Firecracker lol
@@barakaafrobama6519 In Gen V she meets Marie and it's revealed they both have similar if not the same powers (blood manipulation). Still I think she's gone for good though.
Firecracker is having heart issues from the meds she is taking to force lactation for Homelander. She mentioned at the end of that episode that it can give her an enlarged heart, so she's having heart palpitations.
So many reactors are cutting out the Annie locked up scene😟. Erin Moriarty did an INCREDIBLE job in that scene. It's one of my favorite scenes of the episode.
I have to agree that was probably her best performance on the show, I personally didn't care much for her story arc but they turned it around in the end big time 😮🎉
Those final 15 minutes are wild! -Grace dead and Ryan on the run. -Billy kills Vic and is more terrifying than ever. -Homelander fumbles into success again. -The Boys captured. -Sam,Kate and Cindy cameos. -Kimiko speaks in a burst of emotions. -Starlight escapes flying for real. -Nirvana playing at the end. -Bonus SoliderBoy cameo. Weakest season but fantastic finale!
gen v wasn’t a one off, season 2 is currently being filmed! the actor who played andre unfortunately passed away and they said they weren’t gonna recast him so i’m intrigued to see how they’re gonna write that
Hughie didn't find out it was a false Starlight because of any difference between the two, it was because she was sweating like when they first saw the shapeshifter and used the same phrase.
Butcher killing neuman and then saying '' Your all fucking welcome '' gave me chills and pissed me off at the same time cus I liked neuman and I also like butcher with the way he delivers his lines I can't remember the last time that I had such mixed feelings
I feel like it highlights just how much character development he had. And the tumor essentially reverted him to season 1 with all his merciless savagery.
I feel like some people missed the fact that after everything he’s been through this season, Hughie also has to deal with the guilt of indirectly getting Neuman killed
Not everything is from the comics but Homelander becoming president and Butcher with superpowers , different powers in the comics, happen in the original story too. So they gonna make a homage but will not be the same
I agree. I speculate that rather than Homelander dying and then Butcher later on, they might die during the same fight against eachother. I doubt either of them are walking out of the series finale alive regardless. Also wondering how Soldier Boy will factor in. Probably will die too at some point. I'm also strongly doubting they kill off the entire Boys crew like they did in the comics. Going to be an interesting watch no less.

Her emotions and panic after decades of this shit kinda just hit something so deep inside her. The tactics she used to recruit and employ anti supe people mean nothing to trying to change a kids mind. her eyes looked broken
I think it’s desperation and emotion, maybe even a desire to not lose another child, and looking at the state of everything, they really can’t wait for Ryan to pick a side, but Mallory got too impatient and frantic and she fudged it, I can’t blame the kid for killing her when they where trying to kidnap him, he even went softer than with the actor, he was likely trying not to kill her, but his control isn’t there yet, it is how it is haha
Why the hell do they have Hughie apologizing for basically being raped for the second time this season? Weird writing choices with him in my humble opinion.
When Singer said Ijit (or however that's spelt) I literally did the Leonardo gif from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood lol. And then immediately following it up with "Balls!"? Amazing haha
I think as it grows stronger, it could at least injure Homelander. They desperately need an equalizer here. Soldier Boy is returning, and now Ryan is a wild card, but he is still young, and we don't know just how strong he is yet. I'd like to assume Butcher and the parasite are currently at their weakest and will grow stronger from here on out.
Kimiko screaming out while Frenchie was being taken gave me full-body chills. that entire last scene, while Heart-Shaped Box was playing, gave me heart palpitations.
People keep thinking that her losing her hair means her power will mean shell have hair back for some reason... When she first started losing it the theory online was shes the stand in for the comic book character Jack from Jupiter, who was the seventh member of the Seven, instead of translucid. Its quiet obvious its going to be the case and her powers will be force field

Every season MM just climbs higher and higher up my ranking of my favorite characters in this show. He was absolutely hilarious at some points this episode
For real. He was prob my least favourite member of The Boys in the first couple of seasons but now he's easily top 3 imo. These last couple of seasons have been great for him
kimiko screaming hit hard knowing kate probably told frenchie to show no emotion / forget all about her or something so he wouldn't know he was hearing her for the first time when walking away... heartbreaking
@@chinitoli But it's not supposed to "suppress" emotions. When she told Marie not to do anything when Shetty died, she could still at least feel something. She screamed, cried, said to Cate not to do it etc. Why's frenchie like a souless robot. That's probably why people think she said more than "get in the van"
The saving grace is ironically Butcher’s tumor. Because it wants to kill all supes, which majority are Homelander’s enforcers. Gen V season 2 is gonna be INSANE
to be fair the fact it has to be a saving grace for that is also it's fault. Killing Neuman is the only reason these enforcers have the ability to well, enforce, in such a way. Otherwise I agree, Gen V season 2 is going to be great(though I wonder how much fans will get angry with how much it'll probably tie into the actual main Boys story. I know people get bothered when major stuff happens in other shows that they probably won't watch, so that'll be an interesting discourse to watch).
@@ABPRGOD If I recall correctly there was more iffiness around Neuman getting elected from being outted as a supe and a liar wasn’t there? Plus it would have been made worse had Singer actually been assassinated in all fairness. So I feel it COULD be blamed on Kessler/Billy that Homelander got the power in the end. It took away Singer and any other candidates that could oppose that power after all
When they revealed Annie had been kidnapped, there was a door-opening sound effect as the scene faded out. Obviously Shifter Annie "visiting" for a "recharge".
Saw a comment elsewhere saying that Ashley could be turning into Jack from Jupiter, one of the Seven from the comic who is able to turn entirely invulnerable. I'd love this choice cause not only has Ashley been one of the closest non supes to The Seven, it'd also play into the desperate survival that she was feeling when she injected V into her into the first place. It, also would explain why she went bald. Lmao
Building off of the other response here, it could be cool if she become instead like a Medusa type character with the hair powers, it'd be pretty funny and ironic.
@@indoorplant2392 Yeah. This is something people are forgetting, he already likely exists. I think otherwise medusa like powers would be interesting, or if they did give her powers like Jack that are protective that'd be cool too, just don't make her a take on Jack specifically.
I’d say with the way this shapeshifter morphs though; they’re growing a “new them” under the old them every time. So if they’re becoming someone taller/with a different body type then the new body that sheds out will just grow beyond the old shell.

I KNEW Eric knew about Comics Black Noir! I read about it, then there were a few moments in previous seasons reactions with the character where Eric looked like he expected it to happen, then it didn't, and he was thrown for a loop.
I think Ashley getting super intelligence like Sage would work, as she would be able to counter Sage. She would be against the supes for sure. Can't wait for season 5.
You know, huge shoutout for just doing your faces in the thumbnails. I don't know what it is with The Boys this season, but all of the other channels put the most spoiler images, or put two characters together who don't interact in the episode (but you don't know that yet), as the thumbnail and it's so annoying to see in my feed before I watch the episode.
i have a strong feeling ashley is going to break out marie, emma, andre, & jordan for season 2 of gen v with her new powers since she did so much work for the school. possible team up with annie and a-train
There'll be no Andre in season 2 unfortunately. The actor passed a few months ago so I believe they're writing his character out of the show rather than recasting him.
Just wanted to comment on a little detail I haven't seen a lot of people catch: When Homelander outs Neuman on live TV, the moment after he lasers her, they show us her eyes when her power activates, and then going back to normal. I don't think is far fetched to assume she tried, right then and there, to blow up Homelander's head, but nothing happened👀
Just realized shifter starlight keeps biting people because technically has the mind of a preschooler since thats when she said she started taking over ppls lives
when they also talked about why shifter was murdering the security but not MM and Hughie, i think the shifter said they get the memories of the person they become? so i'm going to assume some of the memories/feelings prevented them from killing?
This was a really good episode. Even though this is my least favorite season, episode 7 and 8 were my favorites of the season and it felt like stuff actually progressed. This season is still an 8/10 despite being my least favorite mind you, thats more of a testament to how good the series is as a whole
Say what you want about season 4 but you can’t lie and say that finale wasn’t hitting. Season 4 is a good season not as good as the other ones but still good and better than season 3 finale

@mydrillasanjay5397 I agree. That's what I'm thinking right now. I think season 5 will make this season a bit better, as it's clearly a setup season. But yeah, on its own without 5 being out, yet the only point of comparison is 1-3
They should have played up the danger Ryan is in. They should have said that the first priority was to hide him, then train him so that he could defend himself. Baby steps could have let Ryan down the right path.
One of my favourite parts of the ep was when Sage told Homelander she did ALL of this simply to see if she could. For fun. A challenge for the smartest human on Earth. Not to redeem herself for anything or to avenge someone she lost or really anything resembling a reason of flawed but human action, but simply to see if it was possible. I think the use of those violins usually reserved for Homelander shows the true antagonist of this world, and she ain't fucking around. Season 5 is gonna be truly fucking diabolical 🔥
The Shifter said she was disappointed that Annie's powers weren't working, cuz she really wanted those... Also, do we think that Huey, Kamiko, Frenchie, and MM are being taken to internment camps, or to where the Godolkin 4 are? or maybe Kamiko gets taken there and and escapes with the 4 of them, and thats how we get the 2 groups together for season 5. Also do we think Ashley goes and finds A-Train?
the best way to describe Billy and Hughie is this. Billy the sword force to defend the world with the true evil going on is now attacking by killing Vic and making his stance on attacking everyone who stands in his way Hughie the shield force to attack the world by getting roped up into this and first being scared about fighting is now defending the team and to keep the world from truly falling apart they're now in their natural stance, what an incredible way to end the season, while the beginning was a little rough they really stick the landing with this one.
I don't think Newman could have killed butcher because the first thing he did was cover her eyes. She needs to look at whoever's head in order to pop them.
I really enjoyed evil annie. The way she took absolute glee behind hues back when he was on the phone reporting that all the info on neuman was deleted, the way she tried to bite kimiko when she was restrained. Even her monologue with real annie highlighting evil annie sociopathic personality was superb. Wish we got more haha
I think the shifter is like snake molting so maybe as a kid she turned into her teacher and started to grow out of her child-sized body tearing the skin apart in the process
About the morphing: remember right at the start of the show where they blackmail the guy by having the doppelgänger take ‘candid pictures’. it even changes mid-action there, half one person, half the other, so…
Aaron’s reaction to seeing needles in movies or tv shows will never not get old. But honestly I feel bad for him, I can’t imagine what he feels. Edit: 16:17 also Kimiko’s smile followed by her waving was just agh cute 🥰, I wanna hug her.

Giving the context text about the recent miss on trumps head was actually very well done and well worded. This show has predicted the chaos of our time in absurd accuracy. It was all filmed before most of the events it lampoons.
Side note: Wish you guys would react to the show Banshee while we wait for the next season of The Boys. Anthony Starr is brilliant on that show as well.

Plus we have homelander possible to be president they are cooking wow 🔥
The super cancer is represented by Butcher's anger, Hatred and darkest thoughts. It is part of him-some would say the worst parts of him. It is not a separate entity or consciousness. It is when you have an impulse to do something irrational but you can quickly push that thought away(say someone cuts you in line and your lizard brain reaction is 'punch this guy' but your rational brain stops you) Unfortunately for Butcher, he is losing his battle with his dark side. By embracing it, he is earning a temporary reprieve from dying and it is giving him access to these super powers. Obviously just my interpretation.
