Like Cobra Kai, I like endings that are planned instead of abruptly canceled. Its a shame that not every show or movie gets an ending, which is one of the main things that makes a story.

It makes sense to end at Season 5. Eric Kripke originally had a 5 year plan for Supernatural in the beginning. The network decided to keep it going because of ratings.

I absolutely adore The Boys and will be sad to see it end but at the same time I always like it when a show has a legitimate ending rather than just going on and on and on until it just abruptly stops because it finally gets cancelled, that’s one of the reasons I love shows like Regular Show, Danny Phantom or the original iCarly so much, on top of being great shows they had actual endings, and so it truly feels like a complete experience, and so while I’ll be sad to see it go I am happy to hear that it’ll have a real conclusion, because let’s be real, with the kinds of characters and rivalries they’ve set up we absolutely *NEED* to see them eventually come to a head

It might sound strange but I actually think that it's a good thing that the show will be ending with Season 5. In anything in life, you want to know when it's time to stop and to move on. Always leave the party while it's still jumping and go out on top. As others have said, that( stopping at Season 5) is so much better than dragging it out and having people say: ''That's still on the air?'' You don't want to be like The Simpsons and the Terminator franchise and the Indiana Jones franchise and not know when it's time to stop. I like that they want to go out while they're still on top-it reminds me of how Jerry Seinfeld did it with pulling the plug on Seinfeld in 1998 while the show was still top-rated and super-popular.

It should have ended after the finale of Season 5, when they thwarted the Devil and Sam sacrifices himself to keep Lucifer contained.

I really love this show. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is. I always thought this show was just gory and raunchy for the sake of it. I’m glad that’s not the case. Yes there is that but it also has really interesting characters and stories. Gen V as well. This show made me love this type of genre.

Weird I thought I literally heard last week that he planned on going past the planned 5. But now I'm hearing this from multiple sources. I'm kind of glad though because I'd much rather have a planned ending than either stretching it out longer and longer, or having to abruptly end.

I think it’s for the best. So many shows keep going on & on with the quality dwindling season by season. Makes sense Eric wants to end it on 5, he basically did the same with Supernatural by relieving showrunner duties after their season 5 finale. He did direct some supernatural episodes post season 5, but those first 5 seasons were special compared to the others. This isn’t the end of the boy’s universe itself I don’t think. You can still spin it off with other characters etc.

I knew this was going to be a short series. I mean, the Boys can't just keep chasing Homelander forever, it'll get old at some point. It's better to end on a high note rather than let it get bad like The Walking Dead did. TWD was my favorite show ever at one point, but it just kept getting worse after Season 7. This makes me wonder if Gen V will only be 2 seasons. I don't know if this Universe will be as interesting without Homelander, much like how TWD was when Rick left. Gen V was okay, but I really didn't find any of the characters interesting, it was mostly interesting because of how it tied into the Boys & how it sets up the plot for Season 4.

Well, he did end it from his point of view. Quit writing for it/showrunning after that and if you watch it, there is a clear ending after season 5 that is pretty perfect. But yea, sometimes the suits come in and say NOPE. But I bet The Boys proper does end after 5, they will just have spinoffs and other shows to continue on in that world for Prime.

@@tfundermannI think it more respectful what prime is doing than CW, at least they letting the show runner continue their 5 seasons plan for their show than force them to continue because of ratings, show runner get to have the story they want to represent and how they wanted to end it and prime gets to built a the boys universe by sequels, prequels, and spinoffs it’s a win win for everyone and I think the sweet spot for a show to end is season 5 or 6

Even though I am sad that one of my favourite shows is ending, it kind of feels bittersweet knowing that they are ending the show on such a high rather than dragging the show for another 5 or so seasons and in so doing making it a shell of its former self. My only hope is that it doesn’t end the same way as how it ends in the comics because that’ll feel like a massive punch in the gut.

Hopefully season 5 has either a happy or at least slightly optimistic ending. This show has gotten more cynical and depressing with every season. I know it’s supposed to reflect current America but the thing about fiction is you can change the rules whenever you want.

I feel like 2 years is the norm for how long tv shows take to make. Plus you had the writers and actors strike. That could have pushed back this season. 🤷🏽‍♂️ If they take another 2 years to make the final season then that’s 5 seasons in 7 years. Could be a hell of a lot worse.

@@thureinminhtet24 I’m feeling pretty calm partner. Fact of the matter is this little cat and mouse between Butcher and Homelander has been going on for 4 years in universe, and five out of universe. You’re really telling me these two wouldn’t have found a way to murder each other by now? (In Homelander’s case I don’t know why he even let Butcher go at the end of Season 1)

@@dtross594 I agree with the sentiment that it coulda been worse, but I think five seasons is enough time to put a close to this saga. Season 3 felt like a time-waster. Aside from giving Butcher a tumor and nerfing Maeve we’re literally back where we started.

So we'll have two more seasons. That could be worse. Very few of my favorite series have much more than five seasons, and most of the audience doesn't like most series anymore after more than five seasons, although there are some cases where I strongly disagree, like Game of Thrones for example.

It will be sad to see it end but like people have said least this has a ending and not just cancelled also not saying it is by any means but you’ve always got that fear that they might just rinse season upon season to the point it’s boring better to end it after season 5 while people still enjoy it haven’t watched the new ep yet plan on watching it tomorrow after work looking forward to it I do kinda get why they do a ep a week but I would love a one or two off week where they gave us double eps

@@JoshCarlos1998 That's why I mentioned supernatural. The show just wasn't the same without him. It recycled storylines, drama, and lost all originality. I also abhor the jack character. After kripke left, the show took quite a nosedive.

i started day dreaming about that when jon brought it up and im like well homelander said theres nothing to push off , but has he not flown while holding ppl ,if thats the case his flight shouldnt work with another person only his own weight so idk , then i was like well i got it lol get every one in one area laser the rest of the plane off and carry them all in that one litttle part of the plane lol but thats if he could actually create lift with his flight .so yea his "flight" physics is a little odd
