Personally my problem isn’t that Frenchie was given a boyfriend, no problem with that he’s been canonically bi from the start. The only problem for me was that there was little to no build up for that particular relationship and because it was over in only 4 episodes it felt like a waste of time.

To quote Elena, “you know Maeve is bi, right?” And actually, so is Frenchie. The difference is that they built up Frenchie and Kimiko for 3 seasons, and kinda definitively established it with her musical number in season 3, then threw it away in season 4. Meanwhile, Maeve and Elena were established ever since the latter’s introduction, and even gave a reason why they couldn’t get together for a while. The only thing I thought was poor writing was when Elena left Maeve when she found the footage of Flight 37, then somehow they got back together in the season 3 finale.

people are complaining about the wrong thing. frenchie has BEEN bisexual, and he wasnt getting with Kimiko (watch s3e8 with subtitles) you should be complaining how colin was pretty much used as a plot device for Frenchie's regret arc

Maeve is Bi, vought just didn’t care and only wanted to profit off of her being a lesbian instead. She went away at the end of season 3 to go live with her gf Elena somewhere safe. Kimiko rejected Frenchie in season 3 explaining she has grown to care deeper for him, and sees him more as family which they both agreed on. They have continued to have her express this sentiment since the start of season 4 as well, even having her say straight up “we’re never going to happen” so probably not likely!
