The trailer is good. I like the Homelander laugh, the chicken and sheep and Billy’s line “You’re all fucking welcome”. Jeffrey Dean Morgan in this show makes me more excited for this season.
I will admit, I absolutely loved the main series meaning seasons 1 through 3 and never really watched Generation V as I just wasn’t all that interested as a now 27 year old male to check out a college version of the boys but honestly, looks like I may have to suck it up and rewatch the first 3 main seasons a second time as well as Generation V over the next few weeks to be all freshened up on the first 3 seasons and then, of course do a first time watch for Gen V since, as Sean stated it would appear that some of those characters are going to be “Wrathful Gods” as Homelander puts it in the trailer so, I figure I best brush up on who these new supes are.
Its okay. As a college student, things are little exaggerated, but I could imagine a school like that being exaggerated. My biggest issue was that none of the characters were all that interesting (Jordan grew on me a little, but everyone else was kind of boring). The plot gets good later down the line when a certain someone from The Boys Universe steps in, but everyone else... meh.
I’m probably going to start the boys season 1 tomorrow and watch probably the first half of it and the second half Wednesday, and honestly I mostly would only watch Gen V because it is supposed to tie into The Boys Season 4 and I want to have the context of everything that’s happened leading up to season 4 fresh on my mind and I may be several episodes late to season 4 by the time I get around to starting it at this point but hey, I have a feeling the rewatch will be worth it in the long run
I didn’t think you watched The Boys, Sean. Never saw you review Season 3 back in 2022 when Obi-Wan Kenobi, Stranger Things S4, and Top Gun: Maverick were released on the same day (May 27). Thought you didn’t watch it because it can be a bit too graphic and knowing your Christian values. I started watching The Boys around 2020 or a year after S1. I think during COVID. I still think Season 1 is my favorite. Frenchie and Mother’s Milk were at their funniest in that one. Same with Butcher. Glad you caught up, Sean. Although it’s not for kids, it’s still quite a bit of fun even with all the penis jokes. Deadpool has them but that Seth Rogen wants to show it! Favorite Seasons 1. Season 1 2. Season 3 3. Season 2 Favorite Characters 1. Homelander 2. Soldier Boy 3. Butcher 4. Starlight 5. Frenchie 6. Mother’s Milk 7. Maeve 8. Little Nina 9. Hughie 10. Ashley Honorable mention Stormfront I think I’m going to enjoy Firecracker. What made Season 1 was Elisabeth Shue. Very realistic portrayal of a CEO. Great to see JDM in this. He portrayed the father to Jensen’s character in Supernatural and remained close friends. Gotta love Negan keeping everyone in check.
Cannot wait for this. Most excited to see Jeffery Dean Morgan and what he has in store for us! Ever since TWD he has been one of my favourites and I have always said he should be in The Boys!
@@user-jt1js5mr3f you get that I’m trying to say a lotta people love the show right? Cause that’s what that’s supposed to mean but I guess any figure of speech is never enough for some 🙄
@@NinthShinigami yeah I get it, but in the world of entertainment several hundred isn’t a lot, which is why it seemed funny to apply that specifically to one of the biggest shows of recent years 😆 It’s not “any figure of speech isn’t enough”, it’s THAT figure of speech is just an odd choice 😆
