We hate Season 4 of The Boys

I just rewatched the entire series with my sister after season 4 came out, and my biggest gripe with the show is that each season alternates the morality of The Boys. In season 1, The Boys' thought process is "we need to be better than Vought, we can't stoop to their levels." Then, in season 2, they decide they need to be just as bad to stop Vought, in season 3, they're obviously still on the warpath with Soldier Boy on their side. But in 4, once again, "We need to be better than they are" in the final episode. Like make up your fucking minds at this point.

The fact that they played sexual assault as funny because it happened to a man was disturbing

I didn’t watch the video yet but I thought this season was fantastic. To me it was the least “superhero” and the most character focused. I think it was the worst of the 4 seasons only because seasons 1-3 were 10/10, especially season 3. In the end it was a setup season so it was slower but the last episode just show cased how phenomenal season 5 will be. I’m so excited

OMG they rushed past this but Andy was on to something. Soldier Boy II would be incredible and inline with the Captain America motif cause there were multiple versions of him before Steve was unfrozen.

Sexually assualting a man 4 times and playing them off as jokes or not important especially after killing his dad is an awful characterization of hughie and they obv have never even looked at one page of the book

Season 4 seems like it had gratuitous scenes for the sake of being gratuitous. Which does not make for good storytelling. I loved Victoria Newman, really hated how they ended her character as well. And Frenchie, I heard he wasn't bi in the comics, they added it in for this show, and it all felt extremely forced. Like his whole plot with Colin was just awful.

The plot stalled hard this season. The Neumann plot they spent two seasons on basically turned into a giant waste of time. They went hard on the political satire and social commentary which I genuinely like but it was basically done as filler. The frenchie storyline was a literal complete waste of time. I literally fast forwarded through that entire plot line and it literally had no impact on the story. People are really hating this season and I get it. But I was still entertained.

Took 23 minutes for Hassan to say that someone in the show was gorgeous 🤣

I thought the boys was awesome when it first came out. I agree while still objectively good, subjectively for me it's the weakest. Earlier seasons felt they were building to a definitive end. With five seasons, two spin offs, and one of the getting a second season. It seems like they are trying to run this until the wheels fall off instead of giving it a good ending.

i dont agree with what they said with butchers accent i think the accent is fine, yeah he says silly things but that has nothing to do with the accent

It didn't dawn on me until Andy said it that this review is like The Boys season 4, a waste of time because everybody went full circle back to their original statements at the beginning of the video. However, just like The Boys season 4, I enjoyed it

Not the same artist on Preacher and The Boys. Darick Robertson (The Boys) is an acquired taste but Steve Dillon (Preacher, Wolverine: Origins, Punisher) is genuinely great.

I never got the feeling that the show was poking fun at both sides. I mean yeah sure they are making fun of the left with some of its commentary but if anything I feel like not only do they showcased how the left is often victimized by the right as well as how much the right spews misinformation about the left. Think about Sage went undercover as a Starlight and started a fight to blame the Starlighters, the Seven killed 3 of their biggest fans just to blame it on 2 Starlighters who happened to be black and Starlight's base was invaded by a sick minded individual who thought they were trafficking kids and threatened them with his gun. And finally there's the fact that Homelander issues a protocol to arrest any and all Starlighters and put them in camps. With all of that in mind I don't see the message of the Boys poking at the Left as stupid in the same vein as The Right because it seems more biased. The only scenario I can think of where they poke fun at the Left for being just as radical as the Right was when Starlight beats Firecracker but I would she was in the right sure it's unprofessional but that's something that any normal sane person would do. That's just my viewpoint. And no I'm criticizing it I think it's a great idea because that's something that doesn't really get talked about and it only shows that one side is evil while has good intentions they just need to be guided correctly. Not closed off, not be made fun, not be demonized be guided correctly.

Idk i liked th3 season outside of the tek knight episode, the commentary was pretty good but definitely too in your face sometimes, it was a lot funnier than i expected and i love where the show is going to go after this, definitely a set up season

Victoria is still alive Watch when she "dies" again, her eyes are still glowing. She is keeping herself alive by keeping blood flow moving in her head. She may be able to pull herself together and use her powers to keep her form, OR just go full floating head

In my opinion 1/2 are the best, while 3 took a dip. The first half of 4 was pretty bad, but I thought the last 4 episodes were great.

Hell Hassan. I would like to challenge your "Girls Get it Done" viewpoint for a moment. You said multiple times that The Boys did better female empowerment than Avengers Endgame. But I think it's a bit disgusting to just brush off the scene in Endgame as cringe and bad because when I was there in the movie I remembered people cheering during that and one woman in the audience yelled out "GIRL POWER" and at the time there was high praise towards that scene. But ever since The Boys people have now turned head and that The Boys did it right while Marvel failed. Now I'm not saying that you can't criticize that scene and I'm positive if we just talked and hear each other out there probably could be some great nuance conversations that can come out of it. My whole problem is that sure this may not be what you envision female empowerment others do and I think it's important to hear them and not just dismiss the scene as objectively bad. But also the way The Boys does girl power may not be how some people like to see girls get empowered I mean let's be real who would want to the girl in the series get raped with in her introduction and treated as a laughing stock by peers throughout the majority of the season and then by end finally stands on her own two feet and gets revenge. That can be great writing but it's also a turn off for a some people. I my Mom would not want to watch the show for those very reasons and then some she doesn't care how good the writing is if a woman is being victimized in that sort of way it's not only a deal breaker it also damages her both emotionally and personally. My overall thoughts is that we can be entitled to our opinion and have different viewpoints on what we see as girl empowerment but we shouldn't say that our way in the objectively right answer or dismiss those who found it empowering. Besides it's not Marvel has bad intentions creating that scene their intentions were good. What you may find to be cringe and forceful someone out there feels empowered
