"I can excuse keeping a guy chained up in the basement, but I draw the line at prison camps." "You can excuse keeping a guy locked up in the basement?"
I think it was probably more of, tek knight would have just did the same to him if he stepped out of line. This basically was his perfect chance to kill him
He‘d rather risk his death by homelander than donating one hundred million dollars of his billions of dollars to charity. That‘s a different kind of evil that I never thought I‘d see somewhere
He held out throughout a few different charites and a super-pac for a politician that he certainly doesn't agree with. He balked at a "charity" that is a scam run by (self-proclaimed) Marxists who have done nothing with money donated to their "cause" other than Buy Large Mansions.
i love how the gimp couldve escsped at any moment but as soon as he finds this golden of an opportunity offered on a silver platter he just decides to break free
Did you see him struggling against the chains? It wouldn't have been Any moment, because he only managed to get free when starlight and kimiko came down and tied up tek. It was by luck (and a sort of deus ex machina if you will) that laddio conveniently is able to finally break the chains and gets free at that specific moment to show a way to torment tek-knight to the main characters.
@@mogbo8111 honestly it is convenient but not for them, for laddio. He probably could've broken out any time he wanted albeit with difficulty but why would he? Tek knight probably has a bunch of cameras and beyond that a bunch of connections, I mean you think the guy who's a mix of iron man and Batman can't find his missing gimp? To him breaking free at this point was his only chance, they were obviously not there for him and if he helped them there's a good chance they'll return the favor.
@@newbie6377Looking up the actor, he was actually from Bristol, England (my home town), and became naturalised Canadian citizen (when still a child).
I was also a bit disappointed, but looking at the budget of the Iron Man movies, it takes a lot of work and money to make the suits look good. Money they probably don't have, especially for a side character like him. I really wanted to see one of his mech suits, but alas, it was not meant to be.
It's a nod to Spiderman as well with the character of Web Weaver poking fun of Spiderman and Zendaya portraying Mary Jane being Peter Parker's girlfriend and ironically Jack Quaid voiced Peter Parker in Across The Spiderverse.
I thought Peter B. Parker was voiced by a different actor; one we also recognized very well but who's name avoids me for now. Jack Quaid being the voice for Superman in the new my adventures with Superman & Boilmer in Star Trek Lower Decks is amazing though. Editted: Jake Johnson was his name & bringing that energy from New Girl to Spiderman made his standout role as an old Spiderman not elderly but definitely middle aged spectacular.
@@Zeo545703 Jack Quaid voiced Peter Parker in Spider Gwen's universe during the beginning of the film where he turns into the Lizard instead of Curtis Connors.
@@Zeo545703 Peter B. Parker was voiced by Jake Johnson from another universe, Peter Parker that dies at the hands of Kingpin in Miles Morales' earth is voiced by Chris Pine.
Bummed me out they made him so vile. He was far from perfect in the comic but he did go out like a real superhero, or at least in his mind, he did. Even if his perverse nature was brought on by a tumor in the comics he really did fight it off as much as he could before he crossed the line even cutting ties with his sidekick so he didn't do anything wrong to him. He might have died underwhelmingly in the comics but it was a heroic death in that he wanted to die saving earth in his last moments. He was also a little more nobel and better in the comics.
Well, even though it's supposed to be dark takes on superheroes, I think the reason this Batman-adjacent got the short end of the stick is because Eric Kripke doesn't seem to like Batman at all. In an interview, he called Batman a fascist who profits off of incarcerating mentally ill Gotham criminals in an endless cycle.
I can’t stand the new season because of this. The writing has been losing more and more sincerity in favor of cheap gross outs and gags, and the satire has become so cartoonishly over the top
2:01 100 million to BLM was enough for him to finally break, and he got killed by his black butler. The irony and dark humor of this scenario is too funny 😂💀
@@kikrinman1450 Yup. Why do they even need to name drop Elizabeth Warren? It's an alternate reality Earth. Like, what does the audience get out of that? All it does is pull you out of the scene. Glad I skipped season 3 and 4. I just watch YT clips of Homelander being a maniac and that's like 80% of the show.
They did Tek Knight so dirty tbh In the comics he was one of the few decent supes. Here he's basically just Batman if he was a genuine member of the Court of Owls.
Bro, nobody cares about the comics. Everybody in every comment section talks about them like they’ve read them and not just watched random RU-vid channels. The comics have next to nothing to do with the show now so why bring it up?
So what the Deep did to Starlight was unspeakably evil & played totally serious but Tek Knight & Ashley assaulting Hughie for a bulk of an episode is just jokes? I’d love to see if people have the same energy on the tonal shifts
@@lvvkey3005 Even if they didn’t know which doesn’t matter much since Tek Knight was still gonna put a hole in Hughie for sexual pleasure ; the end result was still him being graphically assaulted by two people. It was far more depraved & heinous than starlights’ case as well. Especially since he just lost his dad last week. Just feels inconsistent & oddly paced.
She's so sweet when making the life of someone like Stormfront or Tek Knight a well-deserved living hell. It's not like Knight can take $100 million with him.
Kind of sucks that while some Supes became more nuanced and/or sympathetic than their comic book selves (ie A-Train) Tek Knight who was one of the better Supes in the comic (ie sending Laddo away to save the kid from TK’s “compulsions”, dying trying to save a mother and baby) became a lot more monstrous on the show
@@UlyssesMIrony that you found this comment to be gay, when the whole season upto this point has been super gay. Guess how much female nudity you saw this season?
@@UlyssesM the irony of calling this statement gay. Have you been watching the show this season? Guess how much female nudity you have seen this season?
Same with the critical supe theory, and the Johnny depp references, like Johnny was found innocent by the public & courts, and the writing seems so bad recently, like all they really care about is trigger/buzz words and not actually about what they're referencing or talking about
@@dayjay_alldj7940 ehh... Not really, honestly the GOW games made zeus more likeable compared to his myth counterpart (still a massive dickhead, but way less compared to myth) Meanwhile superman was a good character turned mass murderer, but zeus went from asshole, to asshole (literally)
What a waste of a character. They could've done so much more with him, but instead, they killed him off with a sex joke. Wish we could've gotten the character we saw in Gen V instead.
Yeah, Tek Knight here felt like an entire new person. Instead of a badass who likes to hump holes he was now a little bitch with a bunch of weird fetishes that died crying about his money. We didn’t even really see him use any of his powers or actual abilities.
2:44 you know the butlers only in 4 sceanes but jesus this speach is powerful, funny and sad he's more less stating he's done everything for tek knight and done everything his master commanded but prison camps crossed the line Tyrone benskin did a great job combining Alfred and a really tragic butler into one and I love how ladio and hugie have tears in thier eyes for this poor guy
@@edwinvanderhaeghen2221 true but it's the fact that prison camps broke the camels back that's brillant plus I don't think he was really happy chaining ladio in the basement
Man the writers really outdid themselves here. And I thought the final season of Dexter was bad television... bravo guys. Making The Room look like a masterclass in character writing.
Laddio and the Butler willingly helping to screw over Tek Knight just shows how much they detested him. Hell the Butler had to deal with all of his proclivities over Tek Knight’s entire life, but planning to establish internment camps not unlike slave plantations was a step too far. Considering Tek Knight’s family got their wealth through capturing slaves made his death even more satisfying
I'm pretty curious if they end up blaming Ashley for his death and maybe think that she is the traitor and she led the boys there. Her fingerprints are allover the place afterall. Which could end in ashley dying to homelander and maybe snitch on A-Train (i highly doubt she would snitch since she knows homelander would just kill both of them either way)
I love how Tek Knight is clearly a parody of Batman in this episode and Batman is known for a having a high pain tolerance and Tek Knight also does i guess too but cuz he’s a masochist
SO cringe 😆🥲. Some writer sees the world through a cartoonist lens and it looks like they took out their weird unaddressed insecurities and resulting judgements on all of us 😂 they forgot their main job was good writing, lmao.
Even the GIMP was fed up with Tek Knight bragging about his ancestors, I especially liked when the gimp tore of his chains and Tek thinking he was going to help him but instead gave them the laptop with his bank account information and that clap💯🤣😆👏
@@carlycrays2831in gen v he was at a school with a camera crew almost always following. Here he’s in his own home on his own property. He’s worse because he thinks he’s alone
Tek knight has a regular tumor not a V induced one. Since he’s had proper compound v in his blood since being born Tek knights tumor won’t grow into anything worse butcher’s tumor is directly due to temp v’s side effects and super charging them by mixing it with regular v
It's weird. We got such good parts like Hughie's dad, Homelander's past, A Train's redemption, Butcher's growing insanity, etc, but then we've also had stuff like Frenchie & Colin, and the sex dungeon.
I think Tek knight is such an amazing character, you can see him being the bad ass superhero figure in GenV and in the Boyz, he suddenly turned into a low-level hero despite all the wealth he has. Love the contrast
Of course he'd be mad about donating money to that group. The top just blow it on mansions and making themselves rich. Did the writers not know that about the history of the group?
@@TheStraightestWhitest The BLM movement never helped any of the people they claimed to stand for. They just pocketed the cash meant to supposedly help black families in need
@@TheStraightestWhitest Shit, even the Innocence Project. The founders are on camera in an interview saying how bad and evil Kamala Harris was from their viewpoint with all the innocent people she got into prison, then they turned around and donated to her and her campaign.
@@TheStraightestWhitest It just shows how far rumors spread without any evidence especially among dim witted right winger types. No one in BLM has ever been convicted of fraud.
everyone talking about how his character was better in the comics, and they should’ve stayed true to the comics is NOT remembering how bad the original ending and character arc of a lot of the characters (ESPECIALLY HOMELANDER) were
I mean from whatvi know teo knight in the comics is a better character because unlike this version he was much more of a hero helping people and he tried to control his urges till he died
