Karl Urban, Chace Crawford, Jack Quaid, #ErinMoriarty, and the cast of #TheBoys join creator Eric Kripke at San Diego #ComicCon 2019 to talk about the show's hardcore content and what it's like to unmask the "good" guys.
there is no superhero in the show, they're all a bunch of dicks they don't do any hero stuff, well how realisticly people with superpowers should be, so you can just say one of the best shows
I actually love The Seven, for how corrupted they are, its realistic. Human's true desires. Since they are all born super with v compound, they still have some humanity I thought i was gonna hate Homelander, but i end up relating to him. The character is loveable
Karl Urban and Anthony Starr were amazing. Urbans best performance for sure. But Starr...wow, really. His performance was amazing...The hardest thing in acting, is play a villain, and he nailed it. I was literally scared of him..
Andrus Oras agreed! Anthony Starr really gave off that glad handing personality as The Homelander but you could feel the darkness in the character and that takes a very gifted actor to pull off. Best example was when he and Queen Maeve took out that sniper. When he started saying “That’s it, it’s going to be alright.” The hairs on the back of my neck stood up! So Evil!
The moment when he knew that the people on the plane weren't going to survive and he stopped putting on airs and just flipped out at them literally threatening them, chilling scene.
Anthony Starr is legitimately terrifying as Homelander. All of cast are good, imo . E.g., I love Elizabeth Shue in this. Urban is good, but his accent is not great and this was not his best performance. He was amazing, in every way, as Dredd.
padmelotus *Antony Starr and Karl Urban were the best things about the show! I genuinely enjoyed every scene they were in. Made me wish there were more content Karl is in for me to see and now I even wish the same for Antony!
I felt like the plot was better developed in Umbrella Academy. This one was straight forward and predictable, I love this more just because of the super R rated content.
BAAM 25th yup agreed, I read the comics beforehand and the main plot seems generic but what I can tell you is that theres is a lot of upcoming twist in this show that the creator can make use of. Furthermore the character development and acting in this show is way better especially by Anthony starr(Homelander)
@@smolbs890 Yeah, I was hoping that they wouldn't pull any punches. I have seen some of the stuff in the comics and they really toned it down with the depravity.
When I watched the show, I felt like Homelander's face was familiar. Imagine my shock when I realized that Lucas Hood from Banshee aka Anthony Starr was playing him. He nailed Homelander's evil Superman side perfectly, I don't think anyone could've played him better.
The entire cast is absolutely amazing. I love all the characters- but Homelander stole the show for me. The emotional range of wanting love, being a badass, and being a complete psychopath.
Antony vs Homelander is such a stark contrast it’s crazy. He played that character amazingly well; seeing recommendations for Banshee, i’ll have to check it out
Anthony Starr as Homelander is jaw droopingly great! In a show filled with great characters he really stole every moment he was on the screen and had some shocking moments.
Seeing this 3 years later, and having just binged my way through all 3 seasons, I can say this has possibly been the most entertaining show I have ever watched. LOVED it. Anthony Starr as Homelander is just fantastic. I thought he was great in Banshee, and he topped that by a mile in this show. Karl Urban was fantastic too. They all were. Can't wait for season 4. And Kevin Smith looks fantastic, especially compared to his "Jay and Silent Bob" days. Keep going Kevin. We need you.
watched the whole season in 1 sitting.started watching with some boring and disgust but soon all went away and was watching and didn't even sleep the whole night.best superhero series ever.loved it.absolutely the best superhero show ever.cant wait to see the second season...
So happy for Antony Starr. He's such a great actor. I mean he convincingly played twins in Outrageous Fortunes for 6 seasons and I loved Van and often hated Jethro lol
I loved the hell out of this show amazing a true organic evolution of the jaded ,saturated superhero market for both television and movies. Basically the best breath of fresh air.
Dude that played Homelander, holy Tour du Force. I don't get nervous often watching badies, but this dude did it to me. I just never knew what he was going to do. Personally I love when he and Butcher stare at each other at the stadium. That scene was power personified.
@@viewmaster617 the netflix marvel universe was never really the MCU though. Plus they won't be making x-men movie's for at least 5 years and they will want someone to play wolverine for a long time so they'll go for someone younger.
@@viewmaster617 I like him but I would prefer that they this time try and make him more comic book accurate and cast a shorter actor. I don't think it's totally necessary but in the comics he has small guy syndrome and his aggression is him over compensating. Try and get an actor who is at least under 6ft
Homelander being all nice is so unnerving but man its so nice knowing such a great show with great performances has not only a phenomenal cast but they are all pretty chill with each other.
Its productions like "the boys" that REALLY make you appreciate the vision and corresponding choices that the casting department have and make. Imagine if a character like homelander was mis-cast. And im not saying that no other actor could have played him, but after seeing Anthony and the job he did with that role, i cant imagine anyone else in it now. That the type of character that cant be done wrong, or the show would be no where near as good. Bravo to this entire cast choice, and to the actors themselves. Absolutely incredible show. CANT WAIT for s4.
