i really REALLY love this survival game concept, i've never seen a kpop group do something like that and the song is strong and powerful too, so it fits perfectly
It's not squid game because the people weren't forced to play, they had an option. It's a Battle Royale concept. Battle Royale is a Japanese film about 9th graders who get sent to a deserted island with a map, food, weapons, and an explosive collar around their neck that explodes if they break a rule. The mission: kill each other and be the last one standing. The last survivor is allowed to leave the island, but if there is more than one survivor, the collars explode and kill them.

Those people who are always like "How can you listen to K-pop?". They have no idea the adventure they're missing lol. The Boyz released "Drink It", then "Thrill Ride", and now "Maverick". You NEVER know what to expect sound-wise from K-pop. I love it.

It's okay if you didn't really like it! I actually really appreciate your honest reaction and how you were very respectful in saying your opinions. When I first heard the highlight medley, I had mixed feeling about the song too but after listening to the song, it just grew on me especially the pre chorus. "I'm a, I'm a maverick" is just stuck in my head all day now...
The Boyz are so versatile with their craft. I think Maverick is a great song. Knowing the concept makes it even more immersive. Everyone has their own opinion though lol. Let’s hit these goals Deobis 🤍.

I think we all had the same reaction to the Juyeon/ Hyunjae moment haha. So anyway in answer to your question no no I’m not okay 😫. Honestly the song didn’t grip me at first but I kept watching and streaming mainly for the visuals and the video as it’s insane but the more I watched and listened to it the more I got into the song and now it’s stuck in my head 24/7 and I actually love it 😅 but the boyz are seriously talented and incredible they’re seriously the full package. This is the only song with ( I'm somthing ) in its chorus that I don't dislike Usually I hate when the chorus is repetitive with I'm ...somthing But in this song it's just amazing I loved it so powerful and sounds beautiful The the vocals though.. Amazing song

I didn't care for it much at first either...you are exactly right...it's like the chorus belongs in another song. However, despite that, it's now stuck in my head all day, every day! My daughter can't stand this song and I don't understand! 😊
