Patriots and Belicheck underestimated Brady thinking he should retire after 6 rings at 43 yrs old. Brady is so motivated and drivened to prove everyone wrong. Regrets in New England I am sure after Brady won another Super Bowl with another team. Resiliency and drive to win is what makes Brady so different and so great. Admiration to TB12!
What's amazing is this was made in 2011! Only half way through his career and they were all ready talking about him as a living legend. He had an even more amazing career after this film for a legend. 9 more Conference championship games, 5 Superbowl appearances and 4 Superbowl wins AFTER this was made!
It’s genuinely unbelievable. He was a hall of famer when this was made and then just decided to have another hall of fame career because why not. It was really funny seeing Marc bulger say “he has 3 now who knows how many he’ll have at the end of his career”, I just laughed when he said that.
@thebiggestcarl8802 I saw something where his career could have been broken into three distinct hall of fame worthy careers of seven years each (done in 2021). His first seven had multiple Super Bowls and was one of the greatest playoff QBs of all time, with lesser stats but great team performance and being one of the most clutch playoff QBs ever. He was one of the best playoff QB ever during these years, with multiple come back wins and top 10 in terms of playoff wins during this span (not countimg rhe next 14 years). His second seven years was probably his best statistically, the Marino era. No Super Bowl wins but multiple MVPs and some of the best stats in the NFL during that time. The third span was a bit of a hybrid, more Super Bowl victories than the previous 14 years, with passing yardage in the top 50 amongst QBs all time and multiple seasons of 30 or more TDs that would put him in the Top 10 all time (even more now, given the last two seasons were statistically great). Likely first ballot hall of famer for the second and third sections of his career, and a likely hall of famer during the first section. The fact that over half of Brady's Super Bowl wins came after this documentary is amazing, given that he was pretty much revered here. Still, the level of consistency Brady demonstrated throughout the career and the level of success achieved during his career. Being able to turn one of the greatest underdog stories into a career with his level of success and accolades is nothing short of amazing.
Props to Drew Henson for being so positive. He seems very grateful that he got to play two sports professionally and is just happy for the experiences he had.
I was impressed with Tee Martin. Humble, respectful, wasn’t bitter about how the NFL went for him. Praised Brady and encouraged him after a loss and then is coaching kids trying to help them the best he can. What a man.
What's wild is he had so much physical talent he could go from playing pro baseball to pro football. Was he Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson good? No, but that's a huge accomplishment to be a pro athlete in two sports. Wonder what would have happened if he had just stuck with one sport rather than divide his time
41:16 just hits different, the realization that only one team wanted you and in the end you gave them and their fans more than anyone had given in the game. Greatest ever.

That team only drafted him because he was still there. They never saw anything in tom except to trade him away later. Proof is this is when Robert resigned Drew to a 10-year $100 million dollar contract. Patriots got super lucky with Tom.
Still disappointed the Patriots didn't manage to keep Brady until he retires. But he got to show he could win with a different team. Have to be grateful that we decided to draft him and keep him for so long. So lucky to be a pats fan during the Brady era.
@MUFC Soccer is a child's sport. Touching another player gets you a flag. The only sport I know that falling down, crying, and acting like another player touched you is a good play.
i’ve hated tom brady for years, especially during his playing days. but my god, his career story is so inspiring to the point i genuinely respect him for his dedication.
And then he felt unwanted again towards the end of his New England tenure. It drives him. He win another Super Bowl with the Bucs in his first season with them.
@@GameTime-yj6qv the crazy think is when will these teams learn what does he have to do for teams to say you know what he’s a top 3 qb in the league no manner how old he is does he need to win another one. Believe it or not Brady said their weren’t many options on teams for him to go to.
The thing that separates Brady from everyone else is that we see him as a 7 time champion. But he will always see himself as the 199th pick. Never satisfied
In all sports, Tom Brady is the only athlete I truly admire. He is not only incredibly successful and talented, his personality is just so inspirational. He loves what he does and always strives to be the best at it. He has been ignored, disrespected and derided in his job since the beginning. His successes did not make him arrogant, showy or conceited. He works and works and strives to be the best.
@@patrickmcphee770Brady’s story is just so much more inspirational and the turnaround from where he came from to his stand-alone greatness is just so inspirational on another level. I get what this guy means.
My guess is that we will but it will need to be longer than 10 episodes lol. Tom is already at 7 rings and shows no sign of retirement while Jordan retired after 6 rings.
He won a super bowl ring for each quarterback taken ahead of him... and quite poetically he took the final ring for himself... congratulations on a wonderful career @TomBrady !
The Greatest of All Time, and Brady lost to the Giants twice, twiceee, but he came back years later to win his 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th, Unbelievable, just remarkable, Brady is the Greatest Thrower of the Football Ever
@@derkek1522 im not cryin im pissed that last year was rigged they just given brady the super bowl win he did not deserver he did not earn it he should have retired 2 years ago.
Tom Brady retired today, had to come back to this. I am the biggest eagle fan but Tom is easily my favorite player of all time ❤️ Good luck on your next journey 🐐🐐
This shows you real champions hold grudges for motivation, and he loves his pops bro a soldier for real. Six rounds no one wanted him crazy when you think how many are no where to be found.
NFL is has been rigged since 2001 commish goodell made crybaby brady a WWE champ not an NFL champ . Montana will FOREVER be a real champion.... no cheating no rigged games and no cheating referee's and brady he screams like a girl
One of the few opposing QB's I admired highly. He never was "cocky" , he tried to instill confidence that a win was possible no matter what to his team and he may not have had the best arm, speed or build, but he had the mind to see, read and react. It's his lack of smugness and work ethic that everyone should strive to have.
My favorite part of this and I’ve watched this like 10 times. “You are our 199th pick”, “Yeah that’s right I’m the best choice this organization has ever made” -Tom
I found this video as a coincidence now that Tom Brady has officially retired as a legend in the game with multiple superbowls wins & elite level of NFL personal records which will not be broken for many years to come. Tom Brady is a GOAT and all those people who doubted or made him look below average are now singing his praises. Life is a full circle and he has inspired countless fans like myself to achieve goals even though it may seem impossible. Hope one day I get an opportunity to shake the hand of this legend as that would truly be memorable honor.
" He wasn't the highest rated, he wasn't the best athlete, he didn't have the best numbers, win a championship, have the best mechanics, or the strongest arm, and he wasn't selected until pick number 199." But he was the Best QB
Tom Brady wasn't a late bloomer. He was always superb. Drew Henson was just the best QB in his HS class and the Big Ten was the dominant college football conference of the 90s. Lloyd Carr handled the situation logically. Brady got himself drafted in the 6th round by not going to Cal and being a 3+ year starter because he was so competitive and wanted to go to a Top 5 team and beat out some of the best HS QBs on the depth chart. I respect the fire, but he made it harder on himself, even though playing in the Big Ten prepared him perfectly for going against NFL defenses.
@@israelp348 they should just produce a football life on the first half of his career right now and then another after he retires on the 2nd half of his career lol
That's the thing even in this video. The guy started for the 00' browns vs the 00' ravens. Even brady is terrible under legit defensive pressure. As a dolphins fan I've seen him turnover the ball x4 multiple times and that's just against us.
What a great program to watch. This should be a positive example for everyone. No matter how much criticism one gets in there profession take that criticism and turn it around as fuel to be the best at what you do. Just a fantastic story ❤️
Tom Brady Taught us all something very important. Sometimes you can’t be the strongest, the fastest, the most agile, but You can always be the most driven.
Damn! What can you say about a guy who said he believes and feels that nobody wants him and he’s motivated by that!!! Wow noting but mad respect for this guy. Goes to show you, Believing is Seeing! He’s the Best, hands down!!!!
Yeah he’s been winning for almost 2 full decades now. Pretty crazy when you really stop and think about it. Won his first SB ring in 2002 and just won again 2021 🤯 he also punted the ball in a game one time. He’s an actual football legend. No other QB can say any of that 😉
I watched this years ago and have recommended this documentary to people dozens of times since. I could easily say this is one of the best sports documentary I’ve ever seen. Incredibly insightful and well put together. I hated seeing what he did to the Atlanta Falcons in that infamous super bowl, but just damn you can’t help but respect his greatness. Great job 👍🏼
@@h.a.l.3980 Yes, Kurt is a great example. Think of how easily he could have never gotten a chance. It was only due to a freak injury situation where the Rams lost all their QBs.
I'm a Colt's fan to my core. I spent 23 years loving every minute consumed hating this guy. Now that he's done, I can appreciate what he accomplished. The greats -- Brady, Montana and Manning; in that order.
@@JayOuttaKC I’m picking the Chiefs but i have reservations because one thing I’ve learned over the last 20 years is it is beyond stupid to pick against Brady.

@Tally Lajar bro he was implying that Brady is the GOAT, but is saying that the video is old because it still said that Tom was one of the greats but not the greatest.
Crazy that this recap of greatness doesn't even include half the story of ultimate accomplishment. It was great living in the time of all the GOATS...Brady, Jordan, Gretzky.
Alex Gonzalez I’ve always had respect for TB because I saw him before the rings, lights and all the glitter of stardom! The drive he maintained despite his beginnings is legendary, I not even a Pats fan(I’m more of a fan of the sport) but I do respect TB, Belichick and the organization in general!
Wow just watching this made him gain a lot more respect with me because I already knew that he was the goat but I always thought he was just a guy who always makes it back to the Super Bowl but looking at all the mountains he climbed like this is incredible
10 years later after this documentary was made and he wins 3 more, on the verge of winning his 7th Super Bowl ring in less than 24 hours. *correction: Is * NOW * 7 Time Champion!!!
@@tommycarucci3104 When I found out Eddie Jackson was wearing number 39 I figured he'd never amount to much... Curtis Enis wore #39 and he was absolute trash, lol. I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised about Jackson though.
There isn’t. If there were, they would have found a way just like Tom. You think there is a scenario where Tom would not have found success? You know how RARE someone like Tom is? Trust me if there is another Tom we would know. They wouldn’t let themselves go unnoticed.
TjayK It’s funny hey because according to Tom Brady that’s not what he actually said. He said something more along the lines of “You’ll never regret picking me” and Kraft ended up turning that into “I’m the best decision this organization has ever made.” And Tom at this point just rolls with it because of how that’s what everyone believes.
Love that quote from him. “I always wanna feel like I’m the best quarterback for this team. I wanna earn it every single day”. For 20 years Tom, you definitely did earn it.
The quote at the end, "I wanna earn it every single day." That's what makes any person the best. Its the belief that there's always something to learn and just because I did this way yesterday, doesn't mean doing it tomorrow will be any good...so what else can I do? More, always more...
This story just goes to show that most NFL coaches and scouts are idiots. Not because they couldn't predict that Brady would turn out to be an all time great -- nobody could. But because they pay more attention to a skills competition (aka "the combine") than performance in actual games. Just look at Mariucci talking about the combine like it's an end all be all. It makes zero sense: you've got 2 years of real life game data showing Brady performing at the highest level of college football doing things that no other QB did during that span, yet you disregard all that and instead fixate on the combine stats? You complain that Brady's coaches didn't "pound the table" for him, yet you didn't even bother to speak to his college coach (and if you had, you would have gotten much more valuable insight than anything you could glean from the combine). And so you go ahead and pick a guy from Hofstra because he runs faster and throws a better spiral. That's like picking a player based on who can do cooler ball tricks... Idiot!
As a life long NYG fan, with a lot of family that lives in NH, all my love to you Tom. You deserve all of the accolades, even though you couldn't beat Peyton's little brother in the SB. Twice. 18-1. So close. Anyway, TB12 has been nothing but class, determination, passion, and perseverence thoughout his amazing career. I could not believe it when the Pats let him go. Then he went on to win another with the Bucaneers. He's ahead now in the long time debate as to whether it was the QB or the Coach for all of their success? Well done Tom Brady. Very well done.
The NFL scouting departments and combine still do not get the QB position; the other positions as well, but especially the QB position. What set Tom Brady apart was a few things, but his most important attributes are how he reacts to stress and the quickness that he processes that said stress. Yes, it can most commonly be referred to as "fight- or -flight" response. The only guy that I can really see doing that in college this past year is Tua. I think Burrow will bust, I think Herbert will bust, I think Love will bust. I've not take the time to look at all the other guys, but as far as those guys Tua is the only guy that is high quality in that area. He is missing some of the other things that made Brady , Brady.. but Tua is the best of the top 5 quarterback prospects this year
@@scottrhoads1500 Yea, I know the numbers for him. It does not say everything though. Sometimes they allow pressure to get a quick pass out. There have been plenty of guys that lead that statistic and ended up as busts. I just see a guy that bounces early . We will see. I'm prepared to be wrong. No, I'm not a bama fan or even a Tua fan, I just think he is much more natural than the other guys.
I love the story of one Jon Kitna. Class act guy all the way! ALL his teammates liked him. I met him one day while celebrating my friend Ed's birthday (linebacker CWU) at our favorite tavern. He showed up , out of the blue just to wish Ed a happy birthday, didn't drink , stayed just a few minutes. But I understood right away. HE CARED about his teammates. Even on Defense. Thats a real leader, a real man right there.
it’s crazy how both aaron rodgers and tom brady both wanted to be a QB for the 49ers and got passed by them and now both of them will become hall of famers
Don't forget his weapons and the outstanding defense. He is the goat no question and he deserves the win but I'm sure if he would have played for the Jaguars,it would be another story.
@@dennisg.7777 I concur but its amazing where he came from. He brings leadership and motivation to push yourself further. He is the epitome of getting a chance and running away with it. Its a beautiful story
It annoys me Brady should be shown to every young kid in school to show even if most people do not believe in you if you want it you can make it happen. Did not have the natural ability of other quarterbacks but he mad himself the greatest of all time.
I couldn’t stand Tom Brady up until the Atlanta Super Bowl coming back from 28-3 to win, I started out that game wanting Atlanta to win the game but the game was becoming a blowout and found myself starting to cheer for the Patriots to make it a game and by the end I was blown away by Tom Brady bringing the team back to win the game I became a fan from that point forward and he is my favorite football player of all time and he’s the GOAT!
They really didn't know anything. Professional scouts looking at sprints, vertical jump and muscle mass for their QB. Now that's incredibly stupid metrics to measure a QB by. Who cares if he is skinny. In American sports, there is an obsession with measurables which is why the scouts mess up so often.
@@esbenrasmussen2419 yup. Cant measure how somone's gonna perform under the pressure at the NFL level. Skill can only take you so far. Its all between their 2 ears. That's what separates people at the professional level.
So right! They cannot tell what is inside YOU! And if you do not change YOUR mindset, and put more in your heart and mind than is in you now, then YOU will never know what you could have become. Winning in life is a great mystery, because the positive work you perform in the next instant makes it more certain that you cannot lose. The person you should surprise the most is YOU!
This is pretty funny. The draft is just televised job interview. As HR, it’s a given that all you would care about is measurable metrics. How else would you be able to keep your job if you pick based on your instinct? If you had to pick between 2 guys as someone in HR, one comes from a prestigious school and the other from an ordinary school but overcome his social economic status or some kind of disability to get there, there’s not much reason to pick the latter. You have to justify your choice to your boss to keep your own job. It’s a matter of luck, you get some right and some wrong. Some winners turned out to be a burst much in the same way, while some nameless undrafted players rise to hall of fame.
its kinda crazy how numb we are to "tom just winning another super bowl". this dude has won more super bowls than most NFL QBs have played seasons. unreal.
