Amid massive outrage over the death of a 26-year-old chartered accountant with Ernst and Young India, allegedly due to work stress, the Union Labour Ministry has said it has taken up a complaint and will be investigating the circumstances that led to the death of Anna Sebastian Perayil.

I have gone through this kind of limitless work load in a Aluminium smelter in a gulf country for 7 years. I use to get nightmares. Both physical and mental torture. Finally i quit. -------- Ministry of labour must implement strict regulation on work load for each job. Employee union must demand job delivery time frame for each job in their company.

This very touching issue -- A Brilliant young world class professional is taken away by MNC work culture .. To hell with your reputation of being one of th 4 BIG auditing firms .. I think you are gas chambers of work pressure .. ANNA is brilliant CA and that is why she took the challenge of work pressure .. She could not endure .. The Chairman was very insensitive when he said ANNA dies out of past medical conditions .. His crores salary made him slave to his money .. This is not done.. Need labor laws in MNC in India .. We want to live

I strongly recommend there should be a panel at the central government is highly recommended to tackle this kind of situation. Yes the matter is between role and responsibilities of individual is highly essential. Why the employees need to work extra hours ? Is the commercial quote is less than the market price? Is employee is not able to reach the expectation of roles? Need to evaluate this kind of situations in many directions. Utilitmately reporting manager should come forward and share the importance of life and role of an employee

Our heart goes out to Mrs & Mr. Sebastian who lost their daughter a young girl full of dreams at such a young age to the work pressure of these Audit firms - this culture exists in all over especially (E&Y, PWC, KPMG) the fresh CA’s are put in such strains by their Team Leaders until they rise to Managers then the same shit happens at the bottom, the young kids it’s their 1st job after acquiring their CA certification - the company Top management should take cognizance to overcome such murder. We pray that Almighty God Grant Eternal Rest to Anna’s departed Soul Amen 🕯🕯🕯& strength to Anna’s family.

It is important to interrogate the management from E&Y who are answerable. They cannot just remain silent. This is a young life lost. However I am glad the Labour Ministry is investigating this case.

The very fact that EY India Chairman Rajiv Memani offers delayed response and does not even bother to express sorrow and convey condolences to the family shows how inhuman and shameless he is, who can only be described as Disgrace to Humanity. It is also very clear that he may have threatened EY Employees not to attend Anna's funeral thats the reason no one from EY attended funeral. The Corporates in India as part of their Social and Community Service should ban EY and teach them a lesson so that in future the employees are not victimised. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Anna's Family and May Her Soul Rest in Eternal Peace

All over the world: the newer Auditors are burdened with unending work loads. The Company earns jobs for lesser amounts due to competition and the amounts they divide over hours. Example, job agreed for Rs 1,00,000/- ÷per hour rate Rs.1000 = days.12.5 days .This means the works on the agreed projects should finish in 100 hours time, which in no way no one can finish as the volume of works is such huge. The auditors should work day and night to finish the project in the stipulated time to present the financial report. This is common in every where. Modern systems saved lot of time, but still.. How to escape:

The death of this employee is very unfortunate. But one thing is no digesting, why she continued in the job after so much tortures, she could have quit the job when it became unbearable. Her family also responsible, should have persuaded her to move other companies, atleast one should get 6-7 hours of sleep, there are lots of opportunities for such efficient persons. This is also the behaviour of new gens, they don't know how to take decisions. If a person is not healthy, nothing will be left.

She just joined 4 months back -- Just see from her angle -- Being brilliant girl she wanted to prove herself and hence endured all stress -- He sucumb to that pressure -- You can not blame her for that .. Manager , being dealt with many brilliant young people , should have been more emphatetic and understood the stress levels and given some solace -- Instead manager became the reason for stress.. Purely manager's fault

They will not take any action against the culprits.Most of the corporate are controlled by a few officials.They know weak areas and malpractices of company and Grey areas of top officials.This is applicable to both government or non governmental.I am sure this mouth circus will be for a few weeks and forgotten in passage of time. Purely cultural issues -- These are emanates from organizational culture . an Individual Contributors are considered as " Slave" by her manager in such culturally "tough" organization , be in Amazon, GS , KPMG , and so on .. Here the joiners are constantly looked down upon as organizational brand is heavily loaded against the individual -- It happened to me -- I was extremely good at my subject -- BUT my US manager's dictate i had to listen to and that is my real assignment .. Over dependency on JOB for livelihood is taking us to this hell called MNC .. Toxic culture ..

I have been working for 20 years .. Stress is normal and working life balance as well. Employees have always been reported to the reporting manager and HR. Especially MNC has better working conditions just how employees raise on time is very important. Suicide is not a solution for any personal or non personal reasons. Almighty God peace to all humans..
