The first month coming to terms with standing on my own two feet again. Figuring out who I am again.
I've held onto this for a little while, not knowing whether posting would feel like a release that I'd need or rambling into the void. I think I've come to terms with being okay that it can be both things at the same time. Filming this gave me a safe space, and I really hope that if you're watching this and going through something similar you can find a little bit of comfort in knowing that you're not on your own.

I am going through the very very exact same thing right now. We have amicably ended our 8 year relationship and I am feeling the same way about it being so hard because we didn’t fight or he did something wrong, and I will have to live in the same flat with him as well while looking at our things all scattered. I don’t have many friends near me, everyone lives so far away which is why this video is such a comfort to me right now. I am not alone in this and you survived this so I will too, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Thank you so much, and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you xx

Oh my darling I'm so sorry to hear that you can relate! For what it's worth, I'm 6 months out of the fog and am still getting those little moments where I have to pinch myself over how different my life is- how much happier, healthier and stable I am now. Time and space help to heal, I know that sounds bleak now but I promise you that the only way through this is *through this*. It's the start of a new season in the sitcom that is your life!! change is exciting!!! sending so so much love xxxxx

Felt like I was just being the older sibling listen to you go through the motions of it all in a weird way. Break ups are rough, each one is different and having shared housing is strings that aren't easily cut off, I'm excited for your new house move though 🎉 do things that please you, I think you get wrapped up in emotions of others but please yourself ♥️ the smile and laugh at the end is good that it's returning!

this was so refreshing to watch you talk with such honesty but also kindness for yourself, reminding yourself that the pain and hurt is all part of healing! also when you said 'i will love someone until they tell me stop' i thought was just so beautiful and raw and i've written it down in my lyric ideas on my notes app!! i hope some day soon you move from your 'i want you back' era into 'there it goes' - you are doing so well & congratulations on your new house

Oh girl, thanks so much for posting this, we're very much in the same boat at the moment. I broke up with my boyfriend of 8 years (fuck lol) 2 months ago. Also had to move out of our flat and move in with my parents. It's really the best step, and moments like these where instead of lingering in pain, I've chosen to focus on the intense gratitude I feel for my family and friends around me. None of us would be where we are without these wonderful relationships in our lives, the ones that are sustained over time. We're gonna be okay and get back on our feet, and there's so much light around the corner. We break down the tower and build up a new one. Sending so many hugs

8 years!!!!! bloody hell I can't imagine the adjustments you're having to deal with!! totally agree with you on the gratitude front. Life's nothing without contrast and feeling lost and low and sad has been totally levelled out by those who really do care.
