American Serbian Orthodox here. My Paternal Grandmother's name was Margaret Mary O'Brien. If Orthodoxy grows in Ireland, I will move there and join. St. Patrick pray for us!
I share this often and try to say this daily. This prayer should be said by anyone with stalkers in real life or online. I ask all Gods angels and Saints to pray with me when I pray this and for those I love. It is powerful. I have had experiences where I know I was spared bad outcomes due to this prayer. Tis beautiful and powerful.
At the end of Heiromarty Daniel Sysoev's "The Mystery of the Trinity in simple language" is an account of St. Patrick's evangelism and it is awesome. ☘️
believe it was part of my conversion from Methodist. Prayed for healing against spiritual attack experiencing during drop of economy in US during 2008. In 2010 after 2. yrs listening to it by Angelina Sings on utube when felt sick or had insomnia, had a very bad paralysis that left after spontaneously praying to St Michael & St Mary. Had to research cause that concept of heaven saints helping was foreign to me. Became convert as Catholic sites agreed with what I felt about Scripture, as they explained and I was already familiar with verses. Cheers
I believe that this is also attributed to St. Patrick: I bind unto myself today, the power of God to hold and lead; His eye to watch, His might to stay, His ear to hearken to my need; the wisdom of my God to teach, His hand to guide, His shield to ward; the word of God to give me speech, His heavenly Host to be my guard; the Mighty Three, my protection be, encircling me, You are around my life, my home, encircling me, O Sacred Three, the Mighty Three.
Isn’t the Lorica actually the words of “I Bind Unto Myself Today?”, the hymn in which Patrick binds himself to the name of the Holy Trinity? (My favorite hymn! Such an incredibly strong affirmation of the Trinity.) The Breastplate, I thought, had different words, perhaps it’s the very last portion of the Lorica where Patrick prays for Christ to surround him in all directions with his presence? Forgive my ignorance as I’m truly confused between the two. Could someone please explain what the difference is between the Lorica vs the Breastplate according to Irish tradition? Are they different portions of the same prayer? Or are these two prayers completely different, written in different times and places, (perhaps by different authors)? Thanks for the great video, btw. I truly love Irish history and tradition. Another question for someone who knows about Irish culture: Is St Brigid as revered as St Patrick? There are specific sites, I realize, associated with St Patrick, but are there specific pilgrimage sites associated with St Brigid in Ireland? Thanks for any info. Superb commentary!
The hymn is a late 19th century version from translations of the Lorica, written by a woman, Cecil Frances Alexander, who wrote many hymns. It is one of my favourite hymns too.
Would be fun to do a 'Patristix blend'! Friends in the US have a company called... wait for it... Teosis ☕️ As for mugs, if you're interested in one, we do sell them here: ko-fi.com/s/850e63b0cd
