Yep - that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Can only continue to bully Countries for so long, before they decide to do something about it. The US has gotten too big for its boots - what did they think was going to happen ! The arrival of the BRICS trading Nations will definitely have a major impact on how all of us live our lives going forward. There will be the inevitable turmoil caused by such a blow to the long standing status quo we have been used to. It will of course eventually settle down again, though quite how long that takes is anybody's guess. Ultimately though, it will level the Global playing field by reducing the amount of economic leverage that the US can bring to bear, moving forward. Hopefully, that will mean less Wars, and a more peaceful co-existence in our future. That remains to be seen, however.

IMO China has been in control of their own empire, shopping where they want. Their weather this year over there means higher imports. Let us see US farmers determine the price, not "wall street" and big corporate farms. Unfortunately, governments do not take starvation into consideration but that's a different topic

Simple solution: stop corporate farming and revert to family farms and self-sufficiency. The Big Players will hate it, but it is the only way to feed the people in the USA. Everything will change fundamentally anyway, whether we like it or not. This change will come either voluntarily or the changing conditions will automatically lead to it. But that will be much more painful.

Weaponising trade through sanctions will ultimately piss off those sanctioned to find alternative models of trade. As the US has sanctioned so many countries, it now makes sense to ignore the US and trade amongst themselves. The countries now supplying China have been able to increase production in large part because they can now buy Chinese produced farming equipment, good old fashioned diesel equipment with no smog devices, at a fraction of what an American or European farmer must pay. And China respects right to repair, so those farmers can maintain their own equipment. And they have access to cheap Russian fertilizer. Win win for both China and Russia.
