When my grandmother was in the nursing home, there was a lady named Helen in the room across the hall. Helen's roommate looked EXACTLY like the old Baroness lady right down to her hairdo! Helen was CONVINCED her roommate was a vampire and was going to bite her on the neck during the night! Lol! And to FURTHER complicate matters, the roommate took long naps during the day and we all know vampires sleep during the day . . . .
What are marvelous story! I love this movie and have watched it more times than I can count. I love hearing reminisces about others who have watched it too. May your grandmother rest in peace.
"France's Latest Sex Kitten" LOL..LOVE IT. "Her beauty was her passport to the twilight world of the Undead". Who wrote this? So good. My beauty is a passport to the grocery store! LOL.
She almost became a Bond Girl. She was considered for the role of Domino in Thunderball. She tested for it and there were some screen test photos of her in the Domino swim suit
I thought the same thing! I had never heard of this actress until I was a teenager and watched this movie. Being gay, I didn't notice the sex kitten thing; however, she is indeed na beautiful young lady. Having looked her up, unfortunately, it doesn't appear that she did much beyond this movie. Nevertheless, I hope her life was full and interesting.
@@phd2007i have seen accounts by people who met her at conventions; they seemed to describe her as a pleasant, cheerful woman who seemed satisfied with her life.
I enjoyed this movie as a kid and still enjoy it today, it's a classic to me. Would like to have a real DVD/Blu-ray of Vampire from 1979 as only Scream Factory can deliver.
WOW! That's a brilliant transfer of the trailer. I love it! This was always one of my favorite trailers as a child. How fitting to post this on the first of October! Can't wait to get this Blu-Ray.
I'm watching this on Svengoolie right now. I don't think I've ever seen a more vibrant film on TV in my life. So crisp & clean it looks like it's going to jump off the screen.
There is a book that takes from this movie and moves on from when Dracula and his three brides are beheaded. The brides some how resurrect and seek revenge on the villagers of Transylvania. I read half the book so far, pretty thrilling. The book is called The Three Brides - Resurrection.
All the Hammer Dracula films starring Peter Cushing or Dracula Prince of Darkness without him . Dracula is never destroyed by staking him in the heart. He's killed by other methods like sunlight water or other ways Same in this film but it was was Baron Meinster
I'd like to know what differentiates this release from the version that came in a boxset with Curse of the Werewolf, Nightmare and Kiss of the Vampire. I also don't ever recall seeing a trailer that switched up narrators midway through.
0:13- Could just be the acid reflux. 1:24- Good, I prefer my sex kittens to be French. 1:42- Also, during the day, he turns into a shopping mall mannequin.
Baron Meinster makes a good villain, but he's almost as annoying as Johnny Alucard in Dracula A.D. 1972. Arrogance is not a substitute for the sheer weight of Dracula's presence.
