For people who are unsure about this team's future here are some important notes: Brooklyn finally has a coach in Jacque Vaughn who has a "Radical Truth" philosophy that the team has bought into and is playing improved cohesive competitive team style basketball. A new core of hard working players and skilled craftsmen in Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson Nic Claxton Cam Thomas Dayron Sharpe Lonnie Walker lV and Trendon Watford. A veteran group of balanced defenders and professional competitors in Spencer Dinwiddie Dennis Smith Jr. Royce O Neale and Dorian Finney Smith. And the most draft capital in the Eastern Conference. This team has the pieces to build up a real contending squad that the Brooklyn fanbase could be proud of one day....
This team gives off heavy 2019 vibes in the sense that there’s actual chemistry and these guys seem very tight-knit. The energy is positive and Mikal’s doing great as a leader for the first time in his career. It feels like these guys actually want to be here and want to create a winning culture, unlike the chaos that was the Big 3. We did win games, but it just didn’t feel right to me and I know others feel the same. This team now has depth, plenty of talent, chemistry, and positivity moving forward. Marks knows how to move and trade for pieces. Underrated GM.
We still need 1 or 2 more solid bigs like c.wood or mo bamba it’s ridiculous how small we’ve been for years as a disadvantage and that’s Shawn marks fault
@@ClubsMoney i don’t think i’ve ever seen Christian Wood and “solid bigs” in the same sentence before lol, but we don’t really lack size anymore now due to the fact that from the 2-4 most of the players are interchangeable due to their height. when ben’s contract is up or when we trade him (i’m sure we will), we can sign a free agent in 2025 for size, like John Collins, Oshae Brissett, or Jalen Smith for example.
Sean Marks haven't accomplished anything worth bragging about in his 7 plus years as GM of the Nets. Let's not over rate him either. Signing two head coaches with no NBA coaching experience (Atkinson/Nash), the big three implosion, and trading away Harden for injury prone Ben Simmons should be more than enough to get him fired. The Harden for Ben trade was an, especially, unnecessary trade that's proved disastrous. He and Joe Tsai have the final word on who get signed but they have input from others. I'm sure hiring JV was mainly Tsai's decision. If it was left up to Marks, he probably would've hired another one of his unqualified friends.
I got tears in my eyes i love this team 😭 I can see this Nets team using a similar strategy as the Kings, building a winning culture with guys who ACTUALLY want to be here. And with Mikal leading the team, I would love for him to lead the Nets to a championship one day.
@@kalieden5493 Mikal is not a #1 but hes a vocal leader in the locker room. Thats a fact that has been proven, so yes, lead the team to a championship. I know it’s all fun and games to get the jokes off, but if the nets were to make Mikal available today, every team in the league would be begging to have a player like him on their team 🤷🏽♀️
I understand that some people don't think Coach Vaughn is a championship coach but considering when Brooklyn was spiraling last November with the Kyrie drama and Nash getting fired, Vaughn was thrown into an interim coach role. And instead of putting his hands into his pockets and just going about his business, he pulled that past iteration together and was very truthful and transparent with them saying they were not playing to their expectations and needed to play together as a group. Not only did they listen to Vaughn, but he became the head coach and helped lead the team to a 12-0 run at one point. In this new era for Brooklyn, he's continued to challenge his new core but he's also put trust into them like Thomas and Sharpe who are mostly delivering on that trust.... Coach Vaughn is the coach Brooklyn needs and he's definitely put in the work to set a standard for this team and they have been getting some good results because of it....
The Brooklyn Nets have been one of the best underdog teams in the past decade or so but especially after the end of the failed superstar era that never really was, this new core has really brought fun competitive energetic basketball back to Brooklyn 🔥...
Thank you to the Nets media crew for these high quality productions on multiple media and social media platorms. I'm loving the insight from this video. Radical truth and transparency, EGB everyone get better.
I love these videos and I love this team. Thanks for letting us see what goes on behind the scenes. Jacque Vaughn is instituting a new team culture that emphasizes communication with one another, accountability, hard work and a total team effort. Everybody is buying in and the team chemistry seems off the chart. I love it. I follow the social media of several other NBA teams, including that team that plays in Manhattan, and trust me, the chemistry over there is not the same. There are guys there grumbling about playing time and questioning decisions that have been made regarding the lineup. If nothing else, descension is not an issue here. This west coast trip will be crucial to seeing how far they can climb. I think they're up to the task. Let's go, Nets!
i LOVE THIS TEAM! This team will shock the NBA! You can really see the more time they have together they have been becoming even more cohesive. Ball moving around, leading to baskets. It usually takes a lot of time, but this team is really coming together fast. We are ahead of schedule. So much more fun to watch, than watching iso ball. I am loving the fast pace energy this team brings on both side of the court. We are going places this year! LET'S GO NETS!
In the joint season ending press conference with Sean Marks and Jacque Vaughn last season, they laid out a map of the strategy the Nets would take going forward. Not making any impulsive trades, that would land us in repeater tax hell, acquiring high character players, and using our draft picks instead of trading them away. We stuck to the script and the results are where we're are today. I'm optimistic about the Nets direction.
@@jonathanoscategui2678 Good morning my friend. Bridges, Cam T, or Walker will never be the facilitator that Dinwiddie is and shouldn't be expected to. They're, basically shooters. Since Ben has been a basket case and DSJ seem to be developing an oft injured history so far, we need reliable Spencer Dinwiddie not only for his skill set and leadership, but also for his reliability. There will be no more "experimenting" with him being a 6th man off the bench or off-the-ball guard. He's the Nets starting point guard now and in the foreseeable future. I'll go out on the limb and predict he'll get re-signed. It would be bone-headed to let him get away again. He's a keeper because he's respected by his teammates, have the confidence of the head coach, and is Nets culture guy.
loved this video. JV cops a lot of heat, but he’s exactly the kind of coach that can bring together a new team. Now that we don’t have the stars anymore, I hope this team can find some continuity and retain our core group.
Brooklyn Nets are doing good because they don't have to worry about stars. Even though in sports, there's no such thing as stars. There's athletes, professional athletes, and that's what Brooklyn is right now is a team. That came together at the athlete. No one's a star. Everybody's one as a team. And they're goingna open a lot of eyes. This year you'll see and a defense is gonna be the best to compliment the office but the most void a defense it's was gonna shock a lot of people gonna bring that true Brooklyn. Like I said, remember there's no such thing as superstars. They athletes professional, and that's why basketball the way it is now separate players from another. And it's a shame that professional athletes don't see that that way
I feel we're just one big piece away from being true contenders. My hope is that we can get Anfernee Simons from Portland, not only young, but is quickly turning into a breakout star in the league. Trae Young can also mold into this offense well. We have the assets, we have the draft capital, why not make a push.
are you worried about sharing strategy with opponents? i am learning stuff. This is A plus content. 🏀i love that this “in season tournament” has given people days off but I hate back to back games. Could we compromise and end the tournament to conference winners and keep games to home courts. (if you would indulge me) To turn up competition up a bit, have the 7 best players, determined by plus/minus compete in a round robin All Star game in each conference. (3 games 16 minutes)
My biggest fear is ownership will get beguiled into trading for a “ superstar” ie;over payed stiff ala Z Williamson, Zack LaVine . We have a bunch of hungry dudes who have chips on their shoulders about not getting the shine they deserve…..work ethic outstanding.. growth factor quantifiable …chemistry jelling ! The only want I see is a point guard but Spenser has been outstanding and if Simmons could play, even that’s not such a need. HEY FRONT OFFICE!! They’re fun to watch don’t futz around!! ❤
The Nets already put out an article saying they were out of the Zach Lavine sweepstakes and they turned down Dame in the offseason. It seems like they know what they need to prioritize going forward and that’s the chemistry with this group.
