No, Dutch are rather direct and tell what they think and feedback can be shockingly honest. And that's exactly what happened. So for me, as a Dutch this interview/documentary is a normal way of expressing one's thoughts... and has nothing to do with distancing from the Netherlands. He's rather straight: the climate at Dutch Universities in sixties didn't provide him the opportunities he has gotten in the US (in which Mr. Lewin is right imho).

Are you seriously saying Europe is more racist than the US? In the US there are more school shootings in a week than in a year in Europe because of the racist indoctrination over there. They literally kill each other over the fact that they have a different skin color. Maybe the reason why people feel the need to go to the US is the need for attention. A person like Leonardo da Vinci or Newton didn’t seek recognition, they were focusing on achieving the things they thought mattered. If Europe is as bad as you are trying to frame it, why are the people who achieve great things often Europeans? This man decided to leave the Netherlands at a relatively young age for a professor. Does he need to be called the greatest man on earth in his 20’s? He is an example of a great professor and people should be happy that he is willing to share his lectures with the rest of the world instead of criticizing the foundation that made him the person he is.

Richard Gray Yes. He is definitely entitled and qualified to be an egotist.

+mousehead2000 You don't really know him nor attended one of his lectures I'm assuming. Don't jump the gun, the man knows how to teach and he has a emotional connection to his lecture hall, his students, his teaching, and his love of physics. He teaches differently, and with care towards understanding rather than simple wrote memorization. He wants you to understand and appreciate physics, and teachers who take their time. He is by far more qualified and superb in his articulation style then any teacher I know--this makes me love his lectures. His 50 years of attachment to the halls, and teaching at MIT gives him some room to boast, its natural, but he doesn't brag about it he simple expresses his love for the place after so many years. Try looking at things a bit more introspectively before making that statement. With all due respect.
