You are totally right! I mean, really what young 'actress' can you look at on our screens in this present day and imagine they'd be an 'icon' in 40 years, nobody who I can see, unless the term 'Icon' is redefined as something else.
I read a story about Barbara and Ross just before she died that always makes me cry whether it's true or not, apparently Ross went to visit her and said hello mum to greet her and she replied who are you? he reportedly got so upset that he had to leave the room and cry as the gravity of her illness weighed down on him and became a reality
The term 'national treasure' is overused these days but Barbara truly was a wonderful person , she was the star of the show in EastEnders & the Carry On films especially with that unforgettable laugh , she had time for everyone with a genuine warmth and generosity of spirit that is all too rare in 'showbiz' these days. At last she is free of her debilitating dementia that robbed us all of her zest for life , heaven has just gained an angel , farewell Babs !.
As l have read on her website,,she had 5 abortions, one when she was 42 years old. You would have thought a woman of that age who was very clear that she didnt want children ever would do the responsible thing and have her tubes tied , but no, she had abortion after abortion after abortion. Disgusting and totally ignorant when in this day and age there are many way to prevent pregnancies. People go off at teenagers irresponsible behaviour and getting pregnant, this woman was 42 years and had 5 unwanted pregnancies.

I know. 😥 My Heart goes out to not only her beloved Scott of course but to Ross and Steve and everybody else who loved her. 💔 My Mum has worked in the same Care Home as a Carer, for well over ten years now and often cares for people with Dementia. She often tells me of her experiences of how it affects not only the individuals themselves but their Families and Friends (nothing breaking confidentiality of course). It's such a heartbreakingly cruel illness. 💔 xxx

@@VinceHowards Yeah, she lived to 83, what's the big deal, many people die much younger, she lived a full life, and she was suffering anyway, maybe this death was a blessing for her, the physical agony is not worth living, even if it means reaching 100.

Barbara Windsor was and will always be an absolute gem legend and anything good in this world 🌎 I had the privilege and pleasure to meet her at palma airport years ago and got a pic one of the best moments of my life she was so lovely what you see is what you get she was a lady beyond measure ❤️ sadly missed
Can we just remember barber cared so much about Eastenders and Peggy when she was diagnosed with her illness she knew she didn't have long, so she returned to Eastenders to kill off her character and end the Peggy Michelle era
To think Babs is in a care home now, I heard she couldn’t even walk in they had to wheel her in, to look back at her spark to think that has now gone. Life is so damn cruel 😢

Barbara Windsor she was so healthy then and now she has dementia it's sad cause she ain't her cheery self anymore when Ross Kemp went to go and see her he cried
I was totally shocked to hear the news of Barbara Windsor . She was fantastic in EastEnders she will always be remembered the owner of the queen Vic for forever . We will miss her deeply we all remember her forever . Rest in peace Barbara you are the EastEnders legend
problem with care for dementia is the majority of people who do the job, family included don't understand the condition and they can't be bothered to learn about it. in my dads' home just down from Flixborough , Scunthorpe ( he did not have it) I saw the staff lock them in rooms naked and blinds open to the roa d , dad used to call it the kennel block.
R.I.P Barbara Windsor & June Brown. Both cemented the success of their careers and brought life to their characters in Eastenders. Both with be sadly missed and always treasured as British icons.

She was without a doubt one of the best "Recasts" in UK Soap History. She did such a great job folks are saying "Joann Warne Who?" It kind of reminds me of Lynn Deerfield (Holly Guiding Light 1971-1976) (RIP)who was replaced by Maureen Garrett who played the Role on and off from 1976-2009. Peggy & Pauline remind me of Stephanie Forrester and the Late Darlene Conley (Sally Spectra) on The Bold & The Beautiful. Sally was the "Thorn" on The Forrester's Side most notably Stephanie but they had a lot in common, they had Fashion Houses that they lost, and while Forrester rebuilt, Sally never was able to and they got their hearts broken by Men. Sally by Clarke Garrison and Stephanie by Eric Forrester.

@david wack Yeah. In the US A Webmovie Starring Crystal Chappel and Jessica Leccia, Crystal played A Soap Actress who had a hard time remembering her lines. She had early Alzheimer's and she was in her 50's. Can you imagine how hard that is as an Actor/Actress.

My husband and I met Scott and Barbara at the Bellagio in Las Vegas around 2012…they were a lovely couple. Still got the photo. She was lucky to have such a lovely husband to look after her after she got ill. Hope Scott finds another soulmate.
