happy to see habi short for habichuella from paul park & orchard beach i also ran into locktron from hollywood crew back in the nest days ' keep it up a lot of people is powerhungry but knolledge is diggin the past!
Have to agree in that these guys are pretty much forgotten and don’t get the respect they deserve. You see all these crappy rappers getting hundreds of millions of views and these guys get views that are in the thousands. Most of the youth today don’t have a clue of how bboying in the early 80s was a massive global youth phenomenon uniting different races, religions and creeds. Once bboying fizzled away so did this unity.
Keep the bboying movement going guys my mothers boyfriend is Corey montalvo AKA Icey Ice and he is one talented guy and I've had the chance to meet Aby as well if y'all have any questions for Mr. Icey Ice himself message me. God Bless y'all and Peace!
@shadowx357 I would like to know more, too. However, this interview was done after Outbreak finished, outside. Not the best of environments for a very lengthy interview. We'll try and get something together in the future!
@MrBIGBO18 hello, well I think I speak for all bboys when I say.. Where can I hear Ice tell his story, his history or better yet our history? Im a bboy from Puerto Rico and want to know where my roots came from, I love this dance and wouldo love to know more. So if Ice has more interviews or articles I would be very humbled and thankful to read them. thank you
Pex invented the suicide, but Fliprock NYCB made it his signature move as the front tuck flip. Pex suicide move would land him on his back. Fliprock did the same move, but he'd land on his feet, transitioning into footwork. And Fliprock would be a good 3 feet off the floor when doing his front tuck flip.
That's pretty sad what Speedy says at 3:18 That new gens don't know nor acknowledge the originals. I don't claim to know their world but I think that originals like Powerful Pexster didn't go into competitions with other crews...they went to WAR with other crews on the verge of fights breaking out. That's the difference I think. For them it wasn't just a way of life. It was life. The only life they knew in a pretty scary time and place without internet, and Wii games.
@YingYangDan hey bro, i thought i would make a funny comment. i love comedy. second. I am born and raised in new york and pushing 40 years old. I am a member of the ORIGINAL bboy scene in the late 70's and early 80's. I have my own history and ligit! I have the blood sweat and years put in so i have the right to crack a joke. Thanks though and i would love to hear your comedy. Besides. I like these dudes. I remember them when they were teenagers.
@recshopdan Be respectful to some of the cats who contributed so much to game, if you are just trolling, or trying to be funny go do it somewhere else nuff sed.
