Listen Up kids. I grew up in East new York Brooklyn in the Tilden houses with a single mom and a heck of a live neighborhood. I went to school and lived around all sorts of poverty-stricken community members who saw nothing but an easy way to make fast money and spend the rest of their lives in and out of jail. It motivated me to stay in school, excel at it, graduate from high school, go to college and move out of that trap of a community. Today i take vacations around the world, drive nice cars i own and just paid off my mortgage for my home. My kids are now entering college and following the same cycle. I go back every weekend to visit mom and see my childhood friends still struggling with the same environment issues from our childhood. Take videos like this as an example of what you don't want to be or become just like the channel owner wants you to do. Hey young world, the world is yours !

It may be because I have a vested interest in this rap scene already, but this video really stood out. The editing and chosen storyline (although not technically chronological) are really riveting. You detail most of the important events, delving partly into the internal drama. You are respectful when reporting on the deaths, and you highlight key issues with the Bronx rap scene, and how it is escalating the violence.

As someone who came from a 3rd world country and then lived in section 8 and public housing when I was growing up… these people make my blood boil. There’s a lot of people who actually need public housing to get up off their feet and truly are working real jobs and getting their life together. Then you have these gangsters that flaunt money, guns, designer clothes, but still in section 8. These kids can go to hell.

I was born and raised in the Bronx and i saw that not only the Bronx but NYC was a dead end life. you work to pay bills especially when MOST of peoples priorities are fucked up. They confuse what they WANT with what they NEED. I decided at 23 years old to work my way up decent paying jobs and make changes. Doing it the Legit way took a few years because you get raped in taxes and cost of living, but i moved at 31 years old. I am self employed now own a couple of businesses and own homes in 3 different countries. Living and growing up in NYC is an amazing tool to get life experiences you cant get anywhere else, learn a hustler way of mind and get used to a difficult life, i'm grateful for that. but that is what a should be, a tool. Not a permanent way of life.

It’s insane that stuff like this is just considered “normal” in some areas. As someone who hasn’t lived in an area like this, it is hard understand how these kids get to this point.
