Yeah, he did an awesome job when he first started, it's only the little KD-Kyrie era that looks negative but IMO he tried his best to appease them, his only real mistake was trading for Simmons... with Harden demanding a trade to the 76ers, it was always going to be tough to not get low-balled. I'd love to hear how his critics would've handled all that mess.
@@Schiltzenberger he would’ve been able to see it through had the owner not been so thirsty for stars because Marks didn’t want to go that route if I recall.
Trading for those Knicks picks is good, but GETTING THEIR PICKS BACKS is out of this world. They really destroyed the Rockets with this one. Like holy cow
There was competition. "The Nets had pursued star-level players to pair with Bridges, but they didn't become available to them, and Brooklyn ultimately found itself with several teams, including Memphis and Utah, willing to offer significant draft packages for Bridges early this week, sources said." The Knicks had competition for Bridges.
@@kim45876 That's nice. If that were true, the Knicks wouldn't have overwhelmed the Nets with picks. The Nets were under no obligation to deal to the Knicks, and Bridges could complain to his new team.
Nah he did say he didn't want any team but the knicks and that's obviously a factor, but I think the Knicks got the worse deal giving up all those picks.
Hopefully the Nets learned for the final time not to buy super teams anymore. Build with young talent that wants to be there and from there if they turn into a homegrown super team then even better.
As a rockets fan I really don't get how we just swapped Nets picks against Suns picks and didn't even get more picks or a role player out of it. I mean we had ALL the leverage in this deal??
Houston won the trade. They doubled their chances at a high lottery pick or a trade for a superstar. PHX cannot keep the team together and Houston still has the 2027 Nets FRP unprotected. Highly unlikely the Nets can do a full rebuild from zero in 3 seasons. Most likely 27 is still a very high lottery pick.
I did 13 spins on Tankathon & Nets fell from 1st to 5th 11 of 13X. they got 4th pick & 3rd pick once. Nets fans should assume we'll pick between 3rd & 7th. Assume we are getting Dylan Harper;not Cooper Flagg
@@joshuawilliams2447Brooklyn made three starters out of second rounders in Cam Thomas, Nic Claxton and now Jalen Wilson so never say never for us. Luck is needed but know how is all there
I would like for this to be the Nets lineup. Cam Thomas, Lavine, Wilson, Clowney, Claxton. Bench Schroder, Watford, ziaire, Nikola Vucevic. Find a shooting guard
This video is wholly inaccurate. The Nets and Rockets have publicly stated that BKNs trade with NY was contingent on the trade with Houston. So Houston would never have had the NETS picks if they traded Mikal. The Nets would’ve been a middling to possible play in team in the weak East and the 25,26 picks would’ve been late lottery most likely. Also, Houston does not want Durant. They want Booker and getting 4 PHX picks enables them to possibly make that trade when PHX blows it up because of the crazy luxury tax bill.
This year is playing with House money!! We can sit back and watch the fireworks for free!! I love Cam but he’s got a reserve some of that offensive energy for defensive results. Can make some real bonehead plays and that’s why Jaque was beating his head up against the wall. Hes still young and I’m rooting for him!!
The entire nba community forgot how great of a GM Sean marks was. He rebuilt the nets without any picks. This time he has his picks and more. Watch out
Bro you're just tanking at this point 😂 it's the right move and are bailed out of the disaster that the Nets were but still.. You're just tanking and praying at this moment. Nothing is guaranteed
Brooklyn should probably try and draft a diet Chris Paul esque player if they decide Cam Thomas is in their future. A defensive passing point guard with him sounds dangerous. Or heck a Jokic-mold Center with him also sounds dangerous.
Although the rockets got a good young squad, I see KD going to Houston as like him being the main guy finally. Dillion Brooks solid on defense. Vanvleet catch and shoots, plus throws assists. KD and Green focusing on points and ball. And Sengun returns maybe on a minute restriction till ready again.
I used to be a Knicks fan. Became a Nets fan because of Jay-Z. I'm happy Brooklyn is learning from their KG Pierce trade mistake. Brooklyn always needs to save a few picks every few years. The future is in the draft
Knicks are contenders and they still have have their 1st round draft pics over the next 5 years… most of those picks are gonna be in the high 20s. Knicks did the right thing
You never know what's a lottery pick until the season is over. Anyway, the Nets have their next 2 picks back so they can tank and land between #1st and 5th in the next 2 drafts. The other picks don't look like lottery picks yet, but they will have the Knicks, Bucks and Suns first rounders next year, they might be able to use those 3 picks to move up into the top 10.... who knows?
The Knicks picks are all going to be in the mid 20s until maybe that 2031 pick but even then that might be a mid 20s pick because everyone on the Knicks is still just entering their prime. Still good to have some extra picks to work with if you are the Nets but cmon dudes acting like the Knicks picks are going to be all lottery picks is ridiculous.
@@EDTheOneable lol, Not one person anywhere on Earth has suggested ALL those Knicks picks will be in the lottery. So stop making up BS. The first 2 should be 20+, but after that anything can happen. 2029 and 2031 are a long way off. This Knicks team isn't going to win a championship and it will most likely be blown up by 2027-28. So those 2 picks in '29 and '31 could well be lottery picks. There is a very good chance those last 2 will be lottery picks. It is absolutely delusional to think the Knicks are going to have a top 10 record and get to the playoffs every year from now until 2030.
@@Schiltzenberger my point is that casuals are acting like this wasn't the right move for the Knicks when it clearly is. Overall it's a win win for both sides. Good for the Nets on getting back to rebuilding organically but let's not act like the Knicks don't have a very good chance to compete for titles now.
@@Schiltzenberger First you don't know if the Knicks "isn't going to win a championship", second you don't know when it will be blown up either, those picks are not going to be lottery picks, because the Knicks can trade players if their championship window closes, get picks and players back and still be good enough to stay out of the lottery. Y'all also have to find talent with those picks, I think y'all will be a team that's bad enough to be at best in the play in, but too "good" to not be a lottery team, lol.
You missed the most important part: the Nets just handed the Knicks any remaining chance of becoming relevant in NYC. Now the Knicks are the IT team and no matter who joins the Nets or however well they play, no one will ever care.
