I have been looking for this for nearly 15 years. Every once in a while I remember this scene and the one where the kid has his facial features removed. I literally thought it must have been a nightmare but no... it actually exists this shit had me scared as a kid.

@@reptile1687the horse is from the mirror queen who needed 12 young girls for her ritual. The horse was created by being given spiders to ingest to that turned it into a hybrid. The animals whiny was meant to attract a young girl and then swallow her whole, taking her to the queen.

Ngl, looking back on it I’m actually really impressed that Will and Jake tried to save that guy before the branch came out of his mouth. Seriously, there was so little chance they could’ve saved him, and being the intense studier he was Jake probably would’ve known that, but they tried anyway. It might actually be the first genuinely brave thing they do in the movie, actually.

I was always bothered by the inconsistency of the enchanted trees. 1 moment they’re entangling the girl and the next they’re gone from that scene as if they consciously decided to leave her to the wolf… which comically bounces around like a chipmunk. But as for the vines, sometimes they just knock a guy off a horse and leave him there… sometimes they’re very easily shaken off. Other times they just brutally pierce right through a guy’s skull. They REALLY didn’t like those 2 guys but everyone else they just kinda half-assed…

Saw this movie when I was a kid. This scene horrified me to my core. Looking at it now, it's still grotesque but not nearly as awful as when I first experienced, mainly because now my brain recognizes the fake-looking CGI and can process the cartoonish ridiculousness of the idea. But man, when I first saw this, it made me sick to my stomach and I stayed away from horses for YEARS.

I remember seeing my Grandfather watch this movie I was a little kid back then and that scene is so terrifying I just run away like I’m running for my life because I didn’t want to risk getting more nightmares as a kid.
