Dr Burchard was my psychiatrist since I was 13 and I turned 31 on November 30th. I had him more then half my life. I struggle hard with depression and ocd. He was literally my lifeline, the one person to completely understand me mentally and didn’t judge me. People want to judge him about what he did in his private time but people don’t realize how much he actually helped me and other patients. She literally ripped him from all of us, and people were left with nowhere to go. To others you may not get it, but to me where I’m literally am lost without him, it’s like someone ripped your only support away. I’m mad still and hurt. And I miss his magic tricks. 💖
I'm so very sorry, as I understand that trusting a psychiatrist doesn't come overnight. I pray you find another dr who also understands you without judgment and can also make you smile from time to time.

American law was created in a time where women were not seen the same way as men at all & were a protected class. As the genders became more equal over time these laws were not changed to accommodate women’s place in a modern society so women still have a protected class status while still being equal to men. This sentence is actually not as light as some other sentences have been for women who actually killed people directly. Canada is even worse

Actually, you are overlooking that if the media had a camera pointed at YOU for a few hours during a time when you would be expected to be sad, remorseful, or whatever, that they could easily pluck out a bit that makes you look uncaring. Celebrities and politicians(especially) do pokerface during events because they are very aware of this danger. My brother went to Dr.Burchard for years, helped him so much! I remember seeing his office and how amazing he was! My brother took it really hard and still at 40 this makes him think of he successfully things Bouchard could’ve helped him with in a way he was comfortable with, he is doing good but not the same without the man who helped him grow

I remember hearing this case and so many people dragged Thomas cause it looked like he just fell in love with a hot young girl. It was so sad cause Thomas was just a good guy who was helping everyone not just her and this evil women just used him
He was my doctor and eventually a close friend when I became an adult. He paid my family's rent a couple times and never even hit on my mother, he just cared about his young patients. People were saying all kinds of false and hurtful things about him when the story came out. I'm so glad people like your self are getting a much more accurate view of someone who was like a Superman to me when I was a kid
If everything out of Diana’s mouth is true, then I have to give her some credit for showing some humanity towards Thomas. She could have done more….don’t get me wrong, but she seemed genuinely concerned. Also, she did testify against the culprits to get them put away. All that being said, those sentences handed down were trash. Both should have gotten life!

Dr. Burchard was my doctor and my close friend from the time I was 7 until he passed. He's portrayed like a sugar daddy in this case, but he didn't target this woman because she was needy. She went looking for him because he had a reputation for helping anyone male or female with anything he could including helping me and my family, including paying our rent a couple times because my dad was in prison and my mom was disabled. Wow, this was so messed up!! Regardless if he had naked pictures of women on his phone, the man as a whole was a genuinely good man, who helped people because he had a good heart! She was just a cold-hearted, gold digging, pos who really should've gotten a whole lot longer sentence in my opinion. He took care of her financially, took care of her kids financially, and she was evil enough to beat him in the house, HE was paying for, let him suffer horribly while he was dying, and then left him in the trunk of the car HE paid for her to have!!! Why was Thomas so afraid? Instead of handing his money to others he could’ve hired a damn good lawyer and had him take care of evicting the bums. As I've already said a decent man wouldn't just randomly send money, generous or not. Sending money off and receiving nude photos as an exchange is SUGAR DADDY material, he paid for a car and a house... Stupid Man. The wife is the victim here, she was cheated and humiliated. This DR knew the right from wrong. If he was innocent and had nothing to hide or worry about then a lawyer would have been commonsense, but again it was an AFFAIR so he wasn't going to embarrass himself, so he lost his life instead.
He was suffering with onstart dementia well before he met Kelsey his wife wanted him to retire so by the time he went to see her he would of had worse symptoms

Serial killer Karla Homolka fooled a psychiatrist into thinking she was abused to the point that her PTSD was severe to the same extent as a concentration camp survivor. She got a 12 year plea deal and then the tapes at Paul's trial showed that she enthusiastically tortured and raped the girls, at times being more dominant before they killed them. She claims he killed them and he claims she killed them.

I remember when I first heard of this case. My heart broke 💔 for him. He was kind, good natured, and thoughtful. All for his life to be brutally taken by someone he helped. Such a sad case.

I feel terrible for Thomas he seemed a lovely unselfish person a real pillar of the community who was too nice for his own good. What a loss for the community and of course his poor widow. As for the naked pictures having pornographic images on a phone isnt unheard of really it could have just been that. 10 years isnt nearly enough for such a dangerous individual in my opinion
