After the intial 10 - 0 he didnt just voluntarily sit back down for another one just for shits and giggles. When he was on the mic in front of the projector he said "I did say I would body his Erron Black which you didn't see on the screen" thus digging himself an even deeper hole.

Lately I've been watching fighting game EVO tournaments and learning bits about them and the legendary players who compete, then stumbled on this video. This is simply a horror movie.....13-0's a brutal loss.

I just think the reason why perfect legend lost so badly, is because he didn't adapt lao gameplay to mkx. He still played it like it's mk9 lao, which was his biggest mistake imo

This might have not been such a big of a deal if it had not happened in the age of social media. That is why you see so few trash talkers in pro sports nowadays; some public outburst can haunt you forever. Even Jordan kept his trash talking primarily to just the court and off the media; everything else was handled through the lenses his PR team trained him to do.

It really is better to humble yourself than it is to be a trash talker. Lesson learned

You can tell he's been in therapy about this. A lot of the stuff he's saying is the kind of stuff you're told after many sessions with a therapist.

The editing of this video falls apart at the end of the FT10. They didn’t just “go play again.” It was mentioned in passing earlier in the video, but the set was expected to have SonicFox on Erron Black, though he picked Kitana later. Perfect Legend, after being 10-0’d by SonicFox’s Kitana got dissed and was handed the mic. The video is for some reason cut in this documentary, but he went on to say that he would have beaten SonicFox if he’d played Erron Black instead. Immediately after saying this, the admin went on the mic and said something to the effect of “Okay so we’re playing again with Erron Black?” PL cornered himself and dug his own grave by saying that, he basically *had* to play at that point. I’m not a good MK player, but the matchups are different between Kung Lao/Kitana and Kung Lao/Erron Black, with Erron Black being considered the easier matchup at the time(not sure if it was a winning matchup or not). PL also said that he would win buzz saw only, which was considered a weaker Kung Lao variation than Tempest, and then he actually switched to Tempest during the last match of the last set. It made no difference, SonicFox was just waaaaaay better. I was and still am a fan of Perfect Legend. I rooted for him to win EVO, and around MKX I used to watch his streams on the train to and from college. I think the constant 13-0 stuff is a bit tired today, but this documentary is about the event years ago, and it doesn’t illustrate what a satisfying and deserved beatdown this was, or show how Perfect Legend made this so bad for himself in the first place, and then went out of his way to make it even worse.

FGC content is low key the best content on this channel, lol.

He brought it on himself. You don't talk the talk, if you can't walk the walk. We all get humbled, hell, I've be humbled too. But where he screwed up is not owning up to it. You can't win at everything. You're bound to suffer a loss in some form of life. That's the way things are, no one is perfect. Not owning up to it makes everything ten times worse.

I don't follow this close enough to know about this, but I would like to say that I love how this information was presented..it's cool to see quality documentaries done on things like gaming. Also from the interview with Perfect Legend...the guy seems relatable...he grew up in a trash talking area (I did as well) and he went for it. He's a 3 time evo champ and I'm betting most of the people sharing memes about him couldn't take a round from him. It's sad that people feel a need to tease or make fun of others vs. appreciate them for their achievements and talent, and to treat them as human beings when they're on top, but most importantly when they're not. In the end it just feels like cyberbullying that he has to deal with for what...being a competitor?

I feel bad for the guy, what he said about Kitana got buffed at the time and no one knew how to play against her makes sense too, I can understand sonic maybe could feel discreted but like the guy said, it was not his intention and Fox prooved it wasn't just the buffs and the lack of other's knowledge of the matchup againts her that got him the win in the tournament. That being said, I feel the humiliation and call outs are not deserving, it seems people scalated too hard on the guy.
