70 years of average life and they live and die here praying for the world... Many criticises but no one sees the sacrifices. These are intelligent people that could have earned millions outside this but choose to be simple so please if you don't understand them don't spread negativity here... don't mean to be a skeptical here, so this place is ran by monks with growing and roasting coffee operation. in addition, the buildings look pretty modern implying that some serious cash was spent. where did they get all this money? is this a business under the guise of religious retreat theme?
The monks work like everyone else. I wouldn't call it a business in disguise though. Their labor is only secondary as they completely rely on what they make. If they have extra earnings, I think those go to charities as well. Technically, they don't keep what is beyond their needs as part of their vow of poverty.
