What I realize is that Naruto was cursed in his use of the 9 tails. Jirayia mentions that each time Naruto is injured and the 9 tails heals him, Naruto’s life span is shortened. He also mentions whenever Naruto goes 4+ tails and above, the mode is constantly burning him & causing him to bleed. People like to look at it like a get out free card, but it came with a tremendous health cost. And Jirayia mentions this in a flashback, plot is at the bridge right before Naruto confronts Orochimaru about Sasuke
This was a superb video, and it is easily one of my favourites in all of RU-vid! Kudos for making it and sharing your insight in analysing the series. You understood it well.✨👏
This man makes the best Naruto analysis videos. People hate Naruto for its emphasis on talent and power but you completely turned the topic on its head and brought a very interesting perspective!
The whole fetishization of hardwork vs talent makes no sense either because it's fundamentally wrong as it implies people with talent don't work hard. I mean Rock Lee calls out Sasuke of all people as someone who coasts on talent when Sasuke might have trained the most after Lee.
@@unc54 Sasuke trained a lot, but way less than Lee. And Sasuke trained the most before and after the Uchiha Clan Masaccre, for the age of 10 to 12, he didn't trained as before, maybe even Naruto trained more at that age. Is after his fight with Lee that he started training hard again, as hard as Naruto with Jiraiya. It's more dumb that idea of Naruto if we see Naruto himself. Kurama revealed that Naruto was able to made the Tajū Kage Bunshin no jutsu, 'cause Naruto's emotions, let Kurama the chance, to give him chakra to weaken the seal. Naruto never had massive amounts of chakra on their "own", but to japonese people, "you're one with your weapons" (and they are right), Naruto is one with his biju weapon, and that explains why people in Naruto refers to Kyubi's chakra as "Naruto's" (except for Yamato, who didn't know about that Kurama always give him chakra amps, just like almost everyone who readed the manga and/or viewed the anime). Despite of being son of Minato NAMIKAZE and Kushina Uzumaki, he don't have chakra chains, larges quantitis of chakra by himself, physical resistence "by her own" (like Kushina who actually survived a while after the lost of Kurama, while Naruto get inconcius inmediatly when he lost only the half of Kurama!), high inteligence or combat genius (he only can learn or create justus thanks to Kurama, remeber his use of Kurama chakra for the creation and use of the rasenshuriken, and he only managed to learn the sage mode thanks to the large chakra reserves Kurama gives to him, and only was able to win Kurama in his inner world, that give him a huge advantage as we see with one inner world of Orochimaru, and with B/Hachibi help). *That's fully explain why Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki refers to Naruto as an "underdog" despite his parents, thing that Naruto inmediatly recognized in front of the Sage of Six Paths.* _Naruto is about helping each other, that's because Kishimoto made Naruto as a "genetic failure", a looser by his very own. I like how in Naruto power for powers sake is always punished in the long run, while power created from understanding is the only real power without drawbacks. Amazing video as always!
Naruto pursued greatness and on the way got/realized power. Sasuke chased power and got corruption. Not until sasuke admitted naruto greatness do he finally start to get better
*Is not the power of "understanding each other", is the power of helping each other!* Kurama revealed that Naruto was able to made the Tajū Kage Bunshin no jutsu, 'cause Naruto's emotions, let Kurama the chance, to give him chakra to weaken the seal. Not just what Power Lover said, but the concept of helping each other gives power also applies to the other members of the cast. While I like Rock Lee a lot his nindo and viewpoint before Gaara injured him was very selfish, wanting to prove himself rather then fighting for those around him. You can see that he changes when he fights kimimaro, helping Naruto chase Sasuke and gets the power up in the form of the drunken fist. He is saved by Gaara, another changed by Naruto's altruistic viewpoint, who goes on to defeat kimimaro.
@@amogus1415 obviously good guys don't always win and that's our reality. Seeing good guys winning at least on fiction gives us hope and motivates to be good person ourselves, otherwise people will start losing faith in humanity.
I've said it before, but it's so refreshing to see Naruto content like this on RU-vid. You're one of the very few people who actually looks at the content of the story critically (and not just whatever feats are displayed in the fights), and actually understands what it was about. Too much of the discourse about Naruto online seems to be made by the "speed reader/watcher" crowd with the same predictable, surface-level takes such as "Rock Lee should've been the protagonist because he represents the show's themes better!" and "Neji was right all along". Don't get me wrong, not everyone in the world has to like this series, but it gets so tiresome when people continue to misinterpret and misrepresent the series and levy criticisms against it that could immediately be rebuked by anyone who's actually paid attention to the whole story.
Phenomenally well written video. Reminds me of one of Madara's lines that I really like. "Power leads to a desire for conflict and the lack of power leads to losing it all."
So many themes, sub-plots, and revelations are revealed in the war arc that even die hard fans like my self have a hard time processing everything that happened. Its why I struggled to finish the anime but was able to finish the manga just fine. Its just so much to process. Its all so deep.
Hard. It wasn't until he pointed stuff out that I was like "oh right that did happen" and "yeah that could be seen from that perspective". Remembering all of it was so much that it becomes difficult to connect all the dots.
I agree with your statement. The manga version is quick and gets to point of 4th great ninja war. While anime version of the fourth great ninja war is so slow and doesn't keep with the main focus of the plot. Because it was showing a lot of filler episodes.
@@jestersage8700 you can say that again, every time i took a long break from the series, i just felt so lost when i returned, but i also didn't want to rewatch so much, and if i did rewatch it was just suffering because i was forcing myself to something that i didn't actually want to do
Naruto for me is not a story about “power”, “skill” “talent” “hard work” or “destiny” no, naruto is a story about love. When people usually think about love, it’s often about “falling in love”. Naruto shows the different types of love at you will experience throughout your lifetime and the consequences and responsibilities of that love. Episode one was how a teacher can love a student like a son, that same teacher ended up walking that pupil out as his father for his wedding at the end of the series. the relationship between siblings, loving your brother more than the village that you would slaughter your family and lover for. Loving an orphan to the point that the blood mist murderer would shed a tear for him in the snow, wishing you could be where he was. The right and wrong way of Loving your village in hashirama, Tobirama and Madara, loving your newborn in Kushina, loving a friend in Sasuke, loving someone who doesn’t love you back in Sakura. Love is blind, sometimes unconditional, irrational, painful. Even Kaguya, the progenitor of Shinobi… the only reason shinobi even exist is because she fell in love with a human. Shinobi are weapons sharpened by love and also destroyed by it. Naruto is a story of love and loss and this is emphasised by a character that in my opinion is the real main character of the story. Kakashi. I will never forget Sasuke asking him “how would you feel if I killed everyone that ever meant anything to you, anyone you ever loved” and Kakashi responds by telling him they are all already dead with a smile on his face. Kakashi, who lost his parents, his comrades, his sensei, his student… in the end against Kaguya, he looked at Naruto Sasuke and Sakura, smiled and said “I really love you guys”. People tend to miss this very obvious detail, the twist in the Uchiha story was that despite what we were first told, uchiha do Not get stronger from hate, it’s actually that their love is too strong and the loss of love is what causes their eyes to awaking. Witnesses loss causes them so much pain that the eyes that saw it become stained red. What an amazing metaphor for how love can be blinding. There should be a video essay called the burden of love rather than power because people only seek out power in order to protect the things they love be it a child or an ideal. But the burden of power has a nicer ring to it lol.
I believe what this video was talking about is how power is burdensome because it puts a target on your back and makes your life hell. People didn't have their entire clans targeted for elimination because of love alone. But, your comment makes a lot of great points as well.
@@Jazzmaster1992 I agree with you. I wasn’t confused about what the video was trying to say, I was just giving my perspective on the core running theme of the story. I agree with your comment as well but only to a certain extend. Love might not be the “only” reason people had their clans annihilated but to quote Pain “Religion, ideology, resources, land, spite, love. No matter how pathetic the reason, it’s enough to start war” - “Love breads sacrifice, which in turn breads hatred”. Óbito: “When a man learned to love he must bear the risk of hated” or Madara “Love and hate are two sides of the same coin” - “When you fall in love you must love with all you got. You must learn to bear anger, hatred, keep your attitude aside and handle things with care, calmness and love” and THE most important quote for me from Madara “In this world, wherever there is light there are also shadows. As long as the concept of winners exist, there must also be losers. The selfish desire for peace gives rise to wars, and hatred is born to protect love” Power may be burdensome but be it land, ego, status, another person, it all comes down to “love”. Itachi is a brilliant example on why clans are wiped out. Love for ones village, love of your clan, love of your own power and influence. His “ the clan, the clan, the clan” speech shows the dangers of how love for ones family can turn into a dangerous obsession. Itachi who loved his village about all else but loved his brother more is the one that wiped out the clan. Clans might not be wiped out by “love alone” but in ever example, you can find love as one of the main contributing factors. The story being about power being burdensome and being about love are not mutually exclusive. A story can have multiple running themes at once but my point is that naruto is, first and foremost, mainly a story about love.
@@ShinigamiShionZ Very poetic perspective on the Naruto series. Especially on the concept of love. I didn't taken it into consideration. Only the ninja lifestyle and the cycle of pain and hatred of losing such "love."
7:32 Small correction: that's actually an in-universe misunderstanding. It's not the union of Uchiha and Senju genes that creates the Rinnegan, rather, mixing the chakras of Indra and Ashura, which is essentially recreateing the chakra of the Sage of Six Paths. That's why Obito, an Uchiha enchanched with Hashirama's cells, never awakened a Rinnegan of his own, and was forced to borrow Madara's. It only worked for Madara, because he and Hashirama were the reincarnates of the Hagoromo's sons. Doesn't effect your main point, just thought it's worth pointing out.
@@amino9292 ??? What are you talking about? Asking somone who used an abbreviation meaning "f*ggot go to h*ll" what's their problem is, is being triggered? (The stars are to prevent youtube censorship, not because I'm uncomfortable typing the words)
"Madara too saw the Uchiha as cursed, but saw the curse as a heigthened version of humans, to reject their nature was the reject humanity, but so many did just that, including the leader of the nation they were in, madara viewed this scrutiny not with more contempt, but with escapism. Opting to ascend into something beyond human, so that he could lead the a cursed humans into a land that would be free of burden.
Well, I'm glad I found this video. Truly great content and insightful analysis. Someone commented on my latest video that it was pretty similar to this one, and it is. You discuss how the Uchiha embody the ninja condition, and I discuss the ninja condition itself and how it affects ninja including the Uchiha. It's like we were looking through the tunnel from opposite ends. Very cool, you've gained a sub
I mean why do you think the more they use their sharingan the more exhausted they get, I guess its kind of puts a lot of strain in their eyes or bodies kind of Adam from record of ragnarok which he had the eye of God and he was able to copy all zeus movements but he's body was still human and he died by strain
@@lombardia1509 I agree. This guy is quite similar to Sage Rain. There's are many Sage's out there. Who see the inside and outside of the Naruto series. The good and bad, flaws and positives. The analysis and perspective.
@@kingnamor7777 What do you think about channel Ohara? I liked his video that maned The man Roger feared the most about whitebeard. It's a decent channel I guess.
You’ve done it again! Another well thought out and insightful video showcasing those characters thought processes and their hypocrisies. One thing I’d like to add is how nonsensical those debates are which focus on how „Kishimoto is gay for the Uchiha“, because they get so much spotlight and their sharingans get stronger while the Hyuga‘s byakugan remains the same. That‘s the point! The Uchiha slay each other and have to experience so much trauma to get their powers which the Hyuga (on earth) are spared from. I also love how you talked about one of Naruto’s most important themes which is teamwork/working together. It doesn‘t matter how talented you are, how strong your kekkei genkai is or how many powers you collected. There will always be someone who will beat you, because he has comrades who will support him and he has the resolve to protect them rather than fight for himself.
I just saw your "Misunderstood Dynamic" about a week ago and I was blown away. And to see you still post brings me so much joy. I hope you keep posting content and enjoy doing so! Thank you so much for these!
I have watched so many content creator's attempts at analyzing the series as a whole, but NONE come close to the sheer brilliance of this guy's videos. You've earned a sub
I literally feel like I watched a video with 5 minutes, you explained so much while being straight to the point and I'm just shocked at how great this was, as many comments here say you handled this theme in such a great manner and very uniquely compared to all the interpretations regarding the "Talent vs Hard Work" theme and others, I loved how you mentioned so many characters from the start to the end of the anime (ngl, when I saw the thumbnail I did think you were mostly only going to focus on the Uchiha and it was a pleasant surprise you didn't) and I especially loved the part about Sasuke and Naruto I'm definitely coming back to this video soon because I feel like I couldn't process every single thing you pointed out but damn, I have no words, this was just amazing, keep up the good work! 🙏
It's like these videos voice my thoughts in rewatching Naruto, but you figured out how to gather those thoughts and present them in such accuracy and definition. I wish I could give this video a *"Super like"*
You are officially a genius! The video is filled with so much insight that I feel like listening again right now. I'm praying for several thousands of subs for you.
Also, absolutely in awe of how you explained the themes in Naruto so perfectly. Loving this kind of content! The pure emotion you conveyed brought me back to my first experience both watching the anime and reading the manga. Amazing stuff
This video is awesome! Incredible! I can't put on words how great it is to see someone understand so well the metaphors and tell it to us in such a simples and cohesive way (with a great poetic tone as well) that i really appreciate it, thanks for this awesome video! I'm happy for discovering your channel!
I love your work man. I've seen a lot of amazing character and arc analysis videos, but your's feel so emotional, and awesome. And the way you dive in the thematics and stuff it's incredible. Amazing video, from an amazing content creator!
Love these videos so much. Keep up the good work! I love the series and I'm so glad to see someone who truly appreciates this series as well and is able to deftly demonstrate it.
WOW. This video was absolutely excellent. It's so nice to see somebody put their thoughts into such a high quality format. Can't wait for the next one!
Dude every video I watch of you makes me tear up, can only watch own a week because of the impact they have on me. This series is the backbone of my life. So your videos are great man. Best I’ve ever come across
I think this just shows more how HotboySpicy is a good writter, rather rhan Kishimoto actually. He was the one who connected all those themes and made this amzing analysis, connecting it all, while Kishimoto barelu developed any of that, and, in his own words, just introfuced things without kmowing how he would work with them later
To me it's my least favorite Mangekyo because it breaks the concentric trinity motif of the Sharingan, each branch being a reshaped tomoe. Sasuke's atom looking one is a second just because of how cool Madara's, Itachi's, and Kakashi's were.
Great Video my friend! I really enjoyed it and had some similar thought on the topic myself without thinking them trough. I really enjoyed you talking about it in great detail
I love how this show can be interpreted in so many ways. I never thought about it this way, but I’m glad I could hear you’re perspective. It was very nuanced, you just gained a new sub.
I never noticed how the arc with madara and obito mirrored the first land of waves arc with zabuza and haku... that's such a galaxy brain analysis. I honestly enjoyed watching this video. I'll admit that I don't really like the war arc that much because it's so dense but also so fast-paced that it's hard to keep up and fully digest, which might be due to the fact that Kishimoto was on a weekly deadline. On one hand, I feel like the war arc did reflect and stayed consistent with a lot of the themes Kishimoto had throughout the story (such as the ethics of treating people like tools, the cycle of hatred, the passing of the torch). On the other hand, I feel like there were so many moments that contradicted those same themes, and the inclusion of Kaguya as well as the revelation that Black Zetsu orchestrated everything seemed like a cop out because it turned the responsibility away from humans to aliens. However, your reading on how Kaguya fits into the themes of Naruto makes sense and feels somewhat satisfying. I still hate the writing decision, but at least the urge to rip my hair out has lessened. Good job 👍, your Naruto content is always great and amazing, and I look forward to them!
This was GREAT dude you are my favorite Naruto RU-vid now you get the series on a level I haven’t seen here. I feel like so many people just argue on raw power, hax abilities, or just critique the series when it is the richness of characters, messages, -philosophies, and THEMES that’s truly bring life to the series, your videos will help people see what’s really there, so they don’t miss out I am sharing these whenever I’m chatting/arguing with people on it
I love THIS VIDEO SO MUCH BRO, so much effort was put into it. Like the other dude said, you actually look at the show critically. ITS SO REFRESHING. I WISH ALL NARUTO CONTENT WAS LIKE THIS. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I LOVE U MAN KEEEP UP THE HARD WORK!!!!!!
Just found this vid. Guy has like 10k subs and feels like I’m getting in early (ish) He’ll be big in this lil sub genre of RU-vid. This was refreshing. I wish I could explain what was refreshing about it, but really glad I found this channel.
All I have to say is WOW.. your analytical skills & the way you explained your view is amazing. Makes me want to rewatch the show with all you’ve said in mind. Props on this 👏🏾
Even though the anime ended a few years ago, we are still discussing about it, we are still finding new aspects about it, And we will me talking about it for years to come, for me that is true art, what makes naruto unique
i think saskue had PTSD from the clans massacre and itachis tsukuyomi and the reason he hated itachi and went after him is to solve the wrong that was done thus solving his PTSD in a way. looking back at it i wish his PTSD was more shown and explored. what do you thonk about my idea?
i mean yeah, i feel like that doesnt have to be spelled out to us though. its pretty obvious that something that horrific would leave someone traumatized for life lol
@Sasukeee 😭 Yes but I feel like every shinobi in Naruto has PTSD. You practically see your friend getting killed in front of you. So in a way having PTSD is the most normal thing being a shinobi esp during 3rd Ninga War. And I feel like that is the sole reason why people dislike Sasuke so much because even though they know what he's been through they compare him to everyone else not because they see him through Naruto's eyes. And as we can see not every one turn out to be like Sasuke and so people can't see why he is the only one to turn out like that. But what people don't get is trauma is trauma and there's no such thing has higher degree of trauma or lower. Plus everybody deals with trauma differently.
I agree, when sasuke told naruto he doesn't really understand how it feels since naruto was born without them and don't know loss. People just call sasuke emo but its actually so bad what happened to him and how itachi put him in a genjutsu making him repeat that might over and over its so badd worse than everyone else in the anime tbh
IMO I feel bad for Sasuke, he was a young boy used and manipulated by almost everyone around him until he met three people who didn't three people who cared for him just because they were a Brother in suffering, a crush who just wanted to heal his broken heart, a teacher who saw so much of himself and a lost friend inside him. I hate Itachi for what he did to Sasuke, good intentions or not what Itachi did to the mind of a young boy will make him remain a villain in my eyes
I completely agree with you. Some fans, well most of them, don't understand this. They praise Itachi while dissing Sasuke when Sasuke's agony, madness and his life decisions were directly or Indirectly caused by Itachi. He might be a good and caring brother but every decision he took for Sasuke led him more and more into darkness.
This whole sentiment about genetics being a burden kinda reminds me of Attack On Titan in a way and how the people with royal blood who inherit the found titan are basically enslaved by the will of first king of the wall. This is a very interesting way to write a character being overpowered where a character is insanely overpowered or has the potential to be insanely overpowered but at the cost of losing their freedom and basically being enslaved by that power and the responsibilities that come with wielding it. This kinda puts the Gaara vs Rock Lee fight into a different perspective because people mostly side with Lee, saying that he deserves to win because he sacrificed the most to become stronger but arguably, Gaara's immense power also caused him to suffer just as much, if not more than Lee in his childhood. But it makes sense that people would root for Lee in that fight because at that point in that story we had no context to view Gaara's character from except for the fact that he was insanely powerful.
stumbled upon your naruto and sasuke defense video and ive been binging all your stuff. great work man, gonna subscribe and am looking forward to your next video!
Love the channel man. It’s great to see that even years after the ending of Naruto (forget about Boruto lol) there can still be such great videos made about the series. Keep it up bro
With every video of your’s I watch I look at what I previously thought to be a flaw as a beautifully nuanced aspect of the show. Keep up the great work.
Naruto is best enjoyed when reading the manga, weekly when it came out. It'll be in a mush if you read it all at once ,You lose a lot of symbolism that way. Its not all about fighting, you have to give some thought to it. If you've seen monster , it's the same way. Monster is short but you won't get that feeling of fulfilment or may even feel bored if you try to binge it all at once, but when you enjoy it slowly it's an amazing piece of art .
The content we need but dont deserve....amazing video man, even though i really liked to hear more about obito, his part came very short to me. there definitely so much more to say about him.
So glad i found your channel i feel like alot of people just water down naruto and use the same 3 critiques its so boring now. its so nice to see someone representing the series well keep it up
Great stuff, you've done a great job highlighting what made Naruto special. Keep up the good work man. Hope to see more one piece stuff from you as well
Great video as expected from what i've seen in previous analysis you have made of Naruto. Just wanted to leave a request which you may or may not think of doing in the future. A character dynamic analysis between Madara and Tobirama. Personally I believe these two are the perfect example of being two sides of the same coin. Both want the best for their clan/family, however they differ in how they think is the correct way to protect them. Thanks for the effort put into these analysis and here's hoping for another great video in the near future. :)
Holy crap dude, this must be the best Naruto analysis video I've ever watched. Mark my works this channel will for sure blow up in the future. Keep it up man!
Woah that was pretty good! Your more reflective videos are a fresh sight in my recommended tab!! Some seemed maybe a little bit of a stretch, but in general, great content!!
